Sportsbet.io closed my account with over 14,000 Dogecoins and didn’t pay out the money. No response to emails, no way to contact them. Today, I am filing a fraud and theft report with several national prosecutors. I will update this post with the progress of the case. Unfortunately, bookmakers like Sportsbet.io do whatever they want without any accountability. It's time to change that.
Best regards to all bettors.

You made a scam accusation with no credible details. How do we know if you are telling the truth or not. If I came here and just said that you are scammer without any proof whatsoever, do you think anyone one would believe me? If you are making a scam accusation, at least put an effort to also include some evidence. This thread can guide you on that; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

No one is saying you made it up but if you post supporting evidence Holydarkness may be able to help. It also adds credibility to your warning. As Rating Place said, there is no intention to say that you made the story up. Rather, this is how this section [and her sister next door] operates; by supporting evidence. We can't and don't take accusations without supporting evidence. And I certainly can't add it to my list with statuses other than "invalid" without anything to substantiate the narrative.

Hi All.
This complaint has been annoying me all night. So I will give a honest response from Steve here. NO BS Corporate jargon responses.. Lets break it down with real life true information.
Accusation: "Sportsbet.io closed my account with over 14,000 Dogecoins" Truth: The customer, after a winning day on the punt.. came to our CS team and the Customer asked to have his account "Permanent Self Exclusion" Which yes, of course that means we block it. We take player safety, be it mental health, security, or financial concerns VERY seriously. I make no apologies for that. The owner of the account asked for this, so we obliged.
Accusation: "and didn’t pay out the money." Â Truth: When an account is self excluded, you can not have access to your balance. Thats the point. We sent 2 Emails requesting the players personal crypto wallet address to we could pay out the owing balance. 2 emails. We did not, and have still not received a crypto currency wallet address to send the customer his remaining funds.
Accusation: Â "No response to emails, no way to contact them". Truth: A email chain of 6 emails between Sb.io and User so far. Just don't lie please, its just embarassing now. Any players can contact us via email or CS 24/7 365 days of the year.
Accusation: "Today, I am filing a fraud and theft report with several national prosecutors." Truth: I would advise any more use of the internet or communications should be directed to answering several of our emails that we have sent to you before we can close this case.
"I will update this post with the progress of the case" If you could please, updating with correct information next time out of respect to the other forum members here please. They have taken their time to try to assist you on this matter to find a solution, at least be honest with them with the correct information. They deserve it.
Accusation: Â "Unfortunately, bookmakers like Sportsbet.io do whatever they want without any accountability." Truth: We take customer safety very seriously. We can only go on information that you give us. Â We are held legally liabile for failing to act on a Self Exclusion case and each case is treated with the utmost importance.
Im all for robust conversations and feedback about the way we do things, be it onsite or in social media, bitcointalk etc etc, but Im can't accept straight up lies/slander from new people to the bitcointalk forum who are now also, wasting peoples time with these bs posts.
I think it is fair and reasonable to agree that I won't be engaging in this case anymore. The scenario will be sorted out with our relevant department via normal customer communication methods.
Thank you all for your time
regards,
Steve. Sportsbet.io

Sportsbet.io is fu***** joke.
Write what is untrue in what I wrote. Can’t you read?
I think it’s clearly stated that **Sportsbet.io closed my account and didn’t pay out my money.**
Did you close my account? **Yes** Did you pay out my money? **No**
At what point did I lie?

Here’s the full context of my situation with Sportsbet.io so that everyone understands what’s going on:
I had an account with Sportsbet.io for many years. Like most bettors, I love placing bets, especially on tennis. Naturally, as a bettor, my goal was to make money and win.
Initially, I placed bets based on what I considered a good pick, but in the long run, this didn’t bring the desired results. That’s clear. So over time, I started using different betting strategies to improve my chances of winning.
However, Sportsbet.io began doing everything possible to prevent me from winning.
For example, when I was using a specific betting pattern and stake strategy, where, statistically, I should eventually hit a win, Sportsbet.io would suddenly remove that type of bet, making it impossible to continue my strategy.
Of course, I didn’t like this, but after several arguments with them about unfair practices and their claims that it depended on some external factors, I had no choice but to give up on that approach.
Later, I tried different betting methods, but I often placed live bets on game winners in tennis.
To ensure I couldn’t win, Sportsbet.io started deliberately delaying bet acceptance when a single crucial point determined the outcome of the bet.
Many times, whether I won or lost on a given day depended on just a few unaccepted bets, which were intentionally delayed.
I was extremely frustrated by this and wrote to them many times, asking them to stop this unfair practice because it’s blatant cheating and not fair play.
It didn’t help. No matter how many times I complained, they always returned to this fraudulent practice after some time.
At this point, I made a mistake. I kept hoping that they would start playing fair. My biggest mistake was not quitting earlier and continuing to play with such an unfair bookmaker.
Eventually, my frustration reached its peak, and I decided to stop playing with them. I sent an email requesting permanent account closure.
And what happened?
Of course, they made one last cash grab. They didn’t pay out my money and stopped responding to emails regarding the withdrawal of my remaining balance.
They only responded once, and that was after I started making noise about the issue in multiple places.
The funniest part?
With their final actions, they completely confirmed my previous accusations that they are nothing but scammers.

sorry, but you are a fucking dumbass. seriously, who asks for his account to be permanently closed before widthrawing his balance first? They didn’t pay out my money and stopped responding to emails regarding the withdrawal of my remaining balance.
do you have any proof of this? because Steve say they sent you not one email but two emails asking you for an addy to send you your money. lying isn't gonna fly here, so please stop embarassing yourself and just go check your email, send them your address, and let's be done with this. Accusation: "and didn’t pay out the money." Â Truth: When an account is self excluded, you can not have access to your balance. Thats the point. We sent 2 Emails requesting the players personal crypto wallet address to we could pay out the owing balance. 2 emails. tbh, sportsbet should consider changing how this works. instead of blocking access to everything, balance should be put in withdraw only mode. i think that would be a better way to deal with closing self excluded accounts that still have balance.

With their final actions, they completely confirmed my previous accusations that they are nothing but scammers. This is debatable because by the majority of members in the forum would state the opposite, claiming Sportsbet are a reputable company with a long history of presence in this forum. Steve and jeremypwr are trusted members. Keeping aside what did or did not occur, in order to resolve the issue in a nutshell the fact remains Sportsbet are waiting for you to send them an address. They clearly want to send the funds to you therefore is it possible you could reply to them via a PM and send your address? That way at least you have your funds in your possession. tbh, sportsbet should consider changing how this works. instead of blocking access to everything, balance should be put in withdraw only mode. i think that would be a better way to deal with closing self excluded accounts that still have balance. This seems to be a reasonable suggestion.

so this is going to be one of those "he said she said" scenarios where sportsbet.io one thing and you say another. tbh, sportsbet should consider changing how this works. instead of blocking access to everything, balance should be put in withdraw only mode. i think that would be a better way to deal with closing self excluded accounts that still have balance.
I agree with this. this prevents the gambler from gambling in the casino and avoids issues like this. once the balance on the account has been withdrawn they can then fully close the account.

We sent 2 Emails requesting the players personal crypto wallet address to we could pay out the owing balance. 2 emails. We did not, and have still not received a crypto currency wallet address to send the customer his remaining funds. Why is this? It doesn't seem to make much sense to disable withdrawals. Sending withdrawal addresses through email is less secure than withdrawing from the site directly. Unless there's a reason to disable withdrawals after self-exclusion, shouldn't this be changed?

I guess once the player requests a self exclusion sites are obligated to honor this request instantly. If they waited any longer ( for the player to withdraw ) he or she might play more, lose more, and then complain the account ban didn’t happen in time. So I think they did everything right and it’s the players own fault. I am sure he will still get this money after finally sending his wallet address.

Once you are self excluded most sites won’t let you even login anymore, that’s just how it is. I get your point of course but often enough that’s standard procedure. So it’s in the player’s best interest to withdraw their funds before making such an important decision. Still, this case it totally different than what the starting post by the OP is actually trying to tell us, which is not ok as well!

All that mattered to Sportsbet is that he was unable to place any bets on the website after requesting self exclusion. Unless it is a technical matter that will take time to be implemented, withdrawals should be allowed even if the account is disabled. That would allow the OP to do whatever he wanted with his funds as long he did not place bets at Sportsbet. Blocking withdrawals unless they have been requested via email seems an unnecessary process. I guess once the player requests a self exclusion sites are obligated to honor this request instantly. If they waited any longer ( for the player to withdraw ) he or she might play more I think you're missing the point: obviously gambling should be disabled instantly, but I see no reason to block withdrawals.

Who wants to close account when there’s money on it? Lol, me. I just thought there wouldn’t be any issues with the withdrawal. Regarding the emails, when I sent them an email about self-exclusion, I got a response within 5 minutes. But when I asked about withdrawing my money, there was no response. The first email from them came the next day, around midday, but I have a feeling that if I hadn’t started making noise about it, I would have waited much longer. After receiving that email from Sportsbet, I replied asking for an exact balance statement for all cryptocurrencies in my account. I received no response. I don’t know who Steve is or whether he was misled by support, but he wrote something untrue. Today, I got a second email saying that they will process my withdrawal, but I have to wait two days. I still don’t know how much they will pay out or in which cryptocurrencies, as they didn’t provide any details. You can judge for yourselves whether this is normal behavior.

I do not work for Sportsbet and I did not read their terms and conditions on this matter but from the outside looking in, it would seem bizzare if you were not going to withdraw your 14,000 Doge to a Doge address that you send to them. Have you already sent them the Doge address you would like the withdrawal to be sent to?
