No gambler would say they don't know their gambling habits has increase of lately, that is the first sign that they are gradually getting addicted. But seriously, people with a certain mentality are the contingent that risks becoming either a gambler or a drug addict and alcoholic. Many factors contribute to this, including a difficult childhood (psychological trauma) or a concussion that a person can get from a head injury.

I will partially agree with you that some gamblers cannot read the symptoms of addiction before they become addicted, because I have seen an addicted gambler that does not know that he is addicted. On the other hand, most gambler will know because the urge of winning will always be there.

Have you ever fell into addiction of something or so? Not relatively to gambling but of anything that has not to do with gambling, rather other aspects of life such as; food addiction, drugs addiction or cigarettes and sex addiction how was this possible to fight?

Like I know, some of these I mentioned above people died due to some of those addictions and weren't that possible to fight against. And even if was handle it wasn't an easy one because I had a relative who were a victim of cigarettes addicts and he did died of it.

Now, talking about financial addiction which has to do with gambling is another worst set of addiction that can be very difficult to fight especially when they have that mentality that they could use 0.50$ to win $m you would see them that eagerly putting all efforts to make sure they break through.

Self observation remains very vital in preventing addiction but a challenge to this is that many individuals are not observant of their environment talk less of themselves and because of these they simply move from a non addictive state to a state where they become addicted even without them knowing. Individuals whom we have our corner can help us in observation even when we fail to observe ourself, and these exact kind of people are people that tell us the truth regardless of how we may feel because that is what real friendships all about. And as long as he is alive, there is always hope for recovery. But yes, if we are talking about gambling or drug addiction, then it can be treated, but not independently. Here I entirely agree with you. Such patients should be treated by good specialists, and for a long time, we are talking about a period of at least six months.

The funny part about gambling is that we don't have a problem with winning, what hits the most is the losing part and It's always the losing stage that hits the most because someone over risks thinking losing is off the table, you lose money which was mearnt for some necessities and before you know it you chasing those losses because you want to break even and that's how the cycle goes and if you can't walk away from a few loses you keep gambling.
