It's an understandable fact that there are lives of persons with which has been changed for the better through some lucky huge win from gambling but the ratio to those winners is very low to those whose lives has been frustrated by same gambling because they failed to gambling within the ambit of responsible gambling. Isn't it ridiculous to think of picking a game of luck as a source of income? I feel only lazy people does that with gambling, because any hardworking man will always want to have something else doing as a job while he spare some little time to catch the gambling fun.

I think you get my point, it's a 50/50 situation that's why I'm trying to let people understand that they have to thread it with caution, yes gambling have changed lives, some people have been lucky to benefit from it but it doesn't mean that one should go fully into gambling as a means of survival with hope that they'll get lucky too, funny enough luck might not shine on the person like it did for the other person and he might even lose more than he's trying to get and end up being addicted.

And I was very disappointed that there are individuals who believes that there are gambling experts and this people make a living from just gambling. Some of this punters go to the extent of editing their bets to attract ignorant people to pay money and get gambling tips funny enough some people are stupid enough to believe in "sure bets" , I ain't say that all punters are cheats and lie about their winning but some do so to scam people and make money through what they claim to be sure betting tips. People should understand that gambling was designed for the business owners to be on the winning side, that's why you can't beat the house and winning is based on luck even with your good strategy.

I get that banning things seems like an easy fix, but really it just pushes the issue underground where its even harder to deal with.  People should be free to make their own choices, even if we dont always agree with them.  And if some folks do struggle with addiction, what they need is help and support, not punishment.  Blanket bans end up causing more harm than good by taking away personal freedoms from everyone.  I know the intention is good here, but it feels pretty controlling to want to forbid something just because you personally dont care for it.

There are people who takes gambling as a business and they make money from it. It’s like there job sincere there is no job out there in this country. There are people who have so many gambling applications on there phone. And they literally stake on them with a lot of money. I don’t think I’ve come across someone who have won gambling that it changed there life. Like building a house from gambling. Paying bills and taking care of loved once through gambling. No matter how an expert someone is. They can never get rich from it. Gambling addiction is bad, but banning gambling isn’t so good: because there are people who will end up jobless. Because it’s also a job opportunity for people who works in this betting or gambling shop. But the addiction of gambling is a bad idea.

You are absolutely correct gambling can never be an occupation for me, for you and for some others but to this guy, may be it is for him because he just said it. I may not know the reason for his comment but I believe there is something that drives him to say it because someone who is not making gain often in gambling can never utter something like this but maybe he is making millions and billions that is why he said that. Gambling will never bring you peace of mind. What is the guarantee that you will not lose more than what you gain today from gambling tomorrow? Everyone gambles with the hope of profit but when they lose, their mind and mentality are disturbed. But yes, if anyone thinks that they can profit by gambling, then my advice to them is to gamble on something that you will not regret if you lose.

Gambling has gone too far to stop. The origin of gambling is as old as man and no true effort has been made to end it before the advent of technology which strengthened the act. The government is also a beneficiary and only cares about the taxes. Instead of expecting government to end gambling, I think it's easier to fight under age gambling which is in the increase now. Children between the ages of 13 to 17 years old have taken over gambling and this poses a threat to the future.

Bad governance in Africa is also a big factor, joblessness is evil and comes with various vices. The best that can be done is to advocate for job creation and also enforce ending underage gambling.
