I didn't see the sense in gambling for fun if the purpose wasn't to make profit but when I started losing to much I began to see the benefits of it. Even if you can make such an amount within the first few months it can't always come constantly because that's not really how gambling works. I’ve always dreamed of making a living through gambling, but it never really happened. Although I still believe it’s possible, maybe it’s only achievable for certain people,  those who truly have the skill and passion for it, especially in sports betting. - owning a business or being employed doesn't mean complete assurance, you can get fired tomorrow or your business might get down, personal experience after the 2008 crisis we had to fiance our family business with our own money
- second thing is that when you say you make 2000 for example from your wage and 2000 form gambling those are not the same, here for the wage I get health insurance and I get a pension plus unemployment benefits, if I would pay that from my pocket I would need to pay 1000 extra from my gambling profits, not to mention you get taxes on your gambling winnings too

I know, I have also undergone this experience, losing job and the business at the same time, not very good but it will make you really tap inside of you just to make ends meet and then comeback. And this is going to be a life long lesson for everyone to really save money because we really don't know what the future brings.

Same with gambling, there is no assurance that you are going to be very lucky everyday or at least once or twice a month to win that kind of money. And if someone says that they can make that kind of money, it's either they are not telling the truth, or they are significant skills, like in poker or professional sports bettors, and they have the discipline and stick to it, together with a good bankroll management.

It seems like this only applies to online gambling and some types of luck based betting. And not to land based casinos.
I mean, I know someone who has a steady job and every time he comes home from work, he always gathers with 5 of his friends to play poker and bet with those 5 friends. He always wins every day even though he only wins a small amount but at least he has the skill in the poker game that gives him a win every day to make gambling a side income.

So not all gambling is as bad as we think. Because in skill based games, we can get a small win even though it can't cover our daily needs.
