Agreed, the dca method can really be used on good and bad altcoins. Because there are other crypto communities that are just carried away by hype because of the words and promises that others say, that's why they also used dca on other altcoins or meme coins, shit coins if you call them.

People who know how to see short-term opportunities through altcoins will definitely not miss it because they will take advantage of it to make a profit in the short term even though in the end they will also use the DCA pattern to buy Bitcoin again in the market. Altcoins aren't the only ones that are faced with the risk factor. Like I've explained in other threads too that investment in Bitcoin is also a risky engagement though not as risky as altcouns are. Nonetheless, we shouldn't also forget that there are investors who don't put their money on Bitcoin at all. They think it's a waste of their time. They've their reasons. Chief among those reasons is that, for them, Bitcoin won't give them the type of ROI altcoin investments give them.

I don't necessarily do DCA on Bitcoin but I do that on altcoins I feel are alphas.

I really do believe that everything depends on strategy and you can only form a strategy with what you understand. There are really some people who understand how to be profitable with altcoins. They know how to time the altcoin market, including the dos and don'ts involved in investing in altcoins.

It is perfectly okay for anyone who doesn't understand altcoins or doesn't find them appealing to stay away in order to avoid getting into a big financial mess. Just like you said, some people end up falling for hypes that die off quickly, leading to a significant price crash.
