I just feel, I should share some tips to those who are just getting started with bitcoin.
Firstly you must have it at back of your mind that investing in bitcoin carries risks, that's why it is essential to be cautious and informed, don't only listen to what others are saying about bitcoin, on your own learn the basics understand what bitcoin is, how it works and it history.
You can as well read some reputable sources like coin telegraph, coindesk and bitcoin magazine, those sources are great to read and learn about bitcoin.
Also watch educational videos on YouTube channels like Datadask and bitcoin fundamentals those channels offers informative content about bitcoin.

After you are done with this three tips, register on a reputable exchange like bybit or any other one you know is ok by you,  set up you own custodial bitcoin wallet for storing your bitcoins  then begin with a small bitcoin investment to get familiar with the process and continously educate yourself on bitcoin and the crypto market.

When i first saw the title of this thread I got attracted to it and I was experienced to see something different or new being added to what we already know, but anyways this is still a good thread to read as the information in it can guide any newbie to bitcoin investment and their entire cryptocurrency journey without any stress, telling newbies to create an exchange account first may also not be the only thing to do because centralized exchange can't be trusted with your money especially when you have a significant big amount of investment on your bitcoin and cryptocurrency portfolios.

For that, we all need to create our custodial wallet so that we have our recovery phrase that can be used to recover our wallet at any point in time without any third-party interference, this is a very important point to be added to the ops.

But overall nice job and keep it up, mate.

well the thread is not for experienced members who already know things about bitcoin, it is for newbies who are just getting started with bitcoin.
Because I believe will still have members here who are new to bitcoin and cryptocurrency generally that's why I just feel I should share some little knowledge about bitcoin to those who are new to it nothing much.

You don't setup wallets on exchanges, exchanges are used to purchase coins, although there's providing to hold your coins there if you wish, but it isn't a wallet. Most exchanges have their wallets as a separate application just like Bitget wallet, Binance wallet OKX wallet, e.t.c.

You can consolidate your coins in an exchange until it's substantial to move to a wallet because of the fees.
It's better to use open-source decentralized wallets like Electrum, Blue wallet, sparrow wallet to store your coins for total ownership and safety of your coins.

please don't get me wrong, what I meant by set up a bitcoin wallet is by setting up your own bitcoin custodial wallet to store your bitcoin after purchasing it from an exchange and not setting up a bitcoin wallet on the exchange. Though I have edited it for clear understanding.

If a newbie rely on watching only videos on YouTube concerning Bitcoin, I don't know how far they will go with that. I believe you have to take time to read and understand what Bitcoin is. And I know this platform is more educative than most of the videos to watch or read. Some things you have to read are here, so I was hoping that you will encourage newbies to always focus on learning here because there is surely robust knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency here.

Good, clarity is important in topics like this so it wouldn't be misleading to those it's intended to guide well.

On Bitcoin education, I must confess that I never understood Bitcoin well until I came onboard into the forum, so I'm highly recommending this forum above any magazine or YouTube videos for a newbie, it's interactive learning process is second to none.

The important thing is to understand the real issues of Bitcoin, they need to gain a clear idea about Bitcoin, and they cannot be in a hurry about anything, they should remember that Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. If you want to achieve success from Bitcoin investment, you need to think long-term, and an investor needs proper knowledge about Bitcoin to think long-term. In addition, using safe exchanges and wallets and keeping risk management issues in mind should be kept in mind. If you invest in Bitcoin, you need to know about its privacy needs, understand the importance of DCA. Bitcoin is a volatile investment medium, so you need to be patient, if you have a long-term perspective, the risk will definitely be reduced, but whenever an investor panics and sells in short-term fluctuations, or invests in Bitcoin to make short-term profits, the risk of loss is very high. Therefore, it is necessary to acquire the right knowledge so that one can understand the importance of holding Bitcoin for the long term, and when an investor understands the real potential of holding Bitcoin for the long term, he will never think about panicking or selling during short-term fluctuations.

You can never compare what you will learn here to any magazine, YouTube and others. There are lots of experts here who are always ready to help on any issue especially anything that deal with Bitcoin.
That's very correct, but no information is a waste. You can learn, and there are also good sources of learning material out there, but the thing is getting the right ones which are not misleading and directing you to where could be danger to you, which is what makes this forum a better place to learn since you don't get everything from one source. Others will checkmate what was shared, and if it's misleading, corrections can be offered right away.

I can't disagree to this point of yours, because many things that I know about bitcoin I learnt them on this forum and most of the things I learnt about bitcoin is from a legendary member name JAYJUANGEE but less be sincere to ourselves only listening to what others are saying about bitcoin is not a good approach to bitcoin and it shouldn't not be a habit, at least carry out research on your own and study about bitcoin on your own.

and the reason by I said that is because, a lot of people on this forum are saying different things about bitcoin especially when it comes to bitcoin investment, some people are saying that you can get good profits by investing in bitcoin for short term, while some are saying no you can't make good profits when you invest for short term, and again some are saying bitcoin holding is suppose to last for 4 to 10 or more for you to make good profits, while some are saying 3 to 5 years so you see why you have to do your research to know  the right thing to do and then define your bitcoin holding by yourself and not others define it for you.

There is no specific age for education. You can learn anything at any age. And Bitcoin is a subject about which there is no end to knowing. Bitcoin itself is wonderful. It is a subject about which I really like to know and read new information. I like to know its history.

I just want to say this much for beginners. You should first read about Bitcoin. Know its history and then think about whether to invest or not.

Bitcoin is the best currency among cryptocurrencies, because the highest price has been reached by Bitcoin, and the first currency of the currency is also Bitcoin. Trading or investing is the best currency in all places, Bitcoin has all kinds of advantages, for example, a new investor can continue his investment through DCA strategy, and trading can be controlled through hedging, no matter how you run your investment, I think Bitcoin will be the best investment medium. The more you read about Bitcoin, the more interested you will be, never feel confused about your investment. The first thing for every new investor is to read and learn, because there is no age for education and it is better to be aware of the education that will make you profitable. You may think that investing in Bitcoin will be difficult for you or that you will not be able to make it at all, but when you continue to hold on to your invested Bitcoin, you will realize that it is very easy and profitable, but there are risks in Bitcoin. Investing completely depends on you.

my litte time here in this forum I've learnt more about bitcoin than I had ever known all my life, this forum holds a great importance to any newbie wishing to learn about bitcoin or cryptocurrencys, there are experts here to teach and guide you your journey and without disputing the fact that there are other search engines than can give you adequate informations you may need too but this forum is highly recommended to newbies like me who wish to gain more knowledge about cryptocurrencies.

Honestly the title of the tread got me excited because I was thinking there was going to be deep informations about bitcoins that will be beneficial to newbie like me.
Secondly advising someone to leave this forum and go learn about bitcoin in YouTube or magazines is not very much what I will agree on because In my little time here I've been able to get much information about bitcoin than I had in the past too so I think you can learn more here than those magazines and YouTube videos with the help of the experts here.

There is no business that doesn't tend to impose risk of losing funds, if there is any that is being proposed, that is definitely a scam proposal. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme, it takes time for your investments become profitable to a satisfactory range and that can only be achieved with Patience. Normally everybody wey wan enter any investment  supposed to make em own research  about how the business  dey be, no be only watin person talk naim you go just take like that, na that kind of tin dey make many newbies to loss for the crypto space. One influencer  go juts come out talk about one project, before you go know people  don start to buy watin no good, at the end dem go just rug the project. This type of things dey happen everyday for this space na why you gats shine you eye and read to an understanding before you start any investment  wey cross your mind.

OP just gave a very preliminary delve into the Bitcoin ecosystem,  actually there's really more to the Bitcoin ecosystem than that mentioned by OP, if you are going into Bitcoin for the first time as a newbie, the above said is one which will not get you mislead but at same time isn't all you need exactly but would give you a fair headstart.

Going into Bitcoin? Firstly understand the concept of Bitcoin,  what it entails and exactly what you stand to benefit and loose aswell if you delve into the world of Bitcoin.  All these are pointers to learning first and making sure to get necessary information needed before getting started so you don't suffer in the process based off lack of knowledge. But in other to avoid further delays,  it's very okay to get started after knowing the basics and in the long run, you moat definitely going to get it straight if you are dedicated to putting in the effort needed to learning but very importantly never stop leaning,  even when you are making profits,  keep learning still, sooner you get to unlock even more potentials than that which you are benefiting from already while learning.

I believe say you been wan write non custodial and not custodial wallet because to say na wetin you been mean to write, they're the worst set of wallet that you can own because of their censorship and they detect what you can or can't do.

Custodial wallets na those one wey no dey give you private keys and they have you linking your email or other sensitive information like KYC verification to your account. Them just dey like your typical exchange which goes to my next point that you don't basically need an exchange to purchase Bitcoin.

You can do that from P2P platform as this forum can serve as that but if you wan they do your thing yourself without anybody personal to you knowing about your purchases then opening an exchange for buying and selling is ideal.
