The future of bitcoin is still not a stable one, there’s a lot of controversies as to,as it has many regulation issues.Even the original founder of bitcoin,in fact, has left his position as it was headed in a direction that he did not intend(debatable). The average consumer is not yet comfortable with the idea,or understand, the concept of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency.

In my opinion, cryptocurrency will be used in the (far) future as a secure way to transfer money,if it is endorsed by certain regulatory body.It will largely remain to the discretion of the buyer/seller,how they would like to proceed with bitcoin, for the time being.

The first person to sell their home for bitcoin already happened in Alberta,Canada who sold his home for the equivalent of $405,000 worth of bitcoin(which was worth much less then),do keep in mind that this was like years ago when 1bitcoin was worth $70,whereas to now 1bitcoin is worth approx.$70,000.If cryptocurrency does not blow up in our face, then i think there would be a cryptocurrency for real estate, but it will be something other than bitcoin and something that a governing body would launch.

Before anyone should consider selling his house to invest in Bitcoin, he should know the risk that is involved. He should have a well designed plan to avoid regrets. It wouldn't be a bad idea to sell property to invest in Bitcoin if the individual has more than one. Real estate is a good investment, so it will be better to diversify investment than to depend only on one asset. The Canadian that sold his property to buy Bitcoin was brave, he deserves all the profits.

Bitcoin is self sufficient, what means it doesn't need centralized systems to work. On the other hand, regulatory bodies don't want a decentralized system like that to take place, because they want to make sure to be in charge of the system, controlling and watching it in real time. Therefore, it's unlikely regulators adopt Bitcoin. For them, it's more interesting to just copy Bitcoin's technology, creating their own cryptocurrencies on the sequence.

Regards real estate, I would really enjoy if it was possible to buy and sell properties through BTC currency. Actually, I've already tried, but real estate agents and houses' owners weren't interested on the proposal. They demand to make the deal in fiat currency.

Bitcoin is too volatile and risky for most people, so you can conclude a large transaction involving real estate is definitely out of their radar.

Anything created by the government can easily be manipulated. Bitcoin is decentralized and is not censorship. Bitcoin has come to stay and still remain the best currency that man has ever created.

1btc is currently $88,320 as I am typing this post. It's not only bitcoin that you can use to buy an estate, you can use some altcoins depending on the agreement with yiu and the seller. I believe the US will accept all those altcoins that Trump added to US bitcoin reserve to buy any property in the US.

You mean coins meant for this? I think theres plenty who plan and wanted that to exist but still fails. So I guess using the common cryptocurrency is better than make a new coin for real statw which no one would buy to exchange or use for selling properties. Why to use that if we have solid coin such as bitcoin that has been trusted by most and many users worldwide.

And it will never be stable. Bitcoin is an attractive investment vehicle because the price is always fluctuating and has a huge upside potential. The concept will be known to the population slowly but surely. It is still comparatively a new currency.

It is already being used as a currency system. However I understand that unclear regulatory framework is discouraging a lot of people to get into crypto currency. I am sure a lot more clarity will be available with time.

I know a similar story for ETH. A person sold his home to buy ETH at $3. He is a multi millionaire today. Some people have taken calculated risk and came out as a winner at the end. But the experience may not be same for everyone. So I would say it's a move where a lot of factors need to be considered.

I am not sure what do you mean by the crypto currency for real estate. But I can tell you that the market doesn't need another cryptocurrency specific to real estate.

It's bullshit if you still question the regulation etc, the fact is you haven't fully figured it out until everything is clear. Bitcoin is not abandoned by Satoshi but bitcoin is inherited and you have to underline that. 1 bitcoin is not $70K and you are again saying baseless bullshit.

Bitcoin was created, and other cryptocurrencies followed – both the ones that are there to serve real purposes and the ones which are there just for the sake of it or to exploit. Not every project or something needs to have their own coin unless their need for the coin is to generate wealth and revenue for themselves.

I don't buy the idea of real estate having a token which will be used to buy properties; it will be worthless from the beginning. It will appear like something which will be promising over time, but it will all be an investment gone wrong, as no one will actually want to make use of it.

We're both still learning here, but I think we should clarify things that I think are unclear from your point of view.

The future of bitcoin is still not a stable one

True, if we pair it with FIAT. But wrong from the perspective of Bitcoin itself, 1 Bitcoin is still 1 Bitcoin, nothing unstable there.

if it is endorsed by certain regulatory body

Bitcoin doesn't need regulation, it's all just nonsense to centralize Bitcoin.

Where did you get all these wrong information, are you saying this just to impress yourself or only to show how less informative you're about the story behind bitcoin creation and why anonymity is important in this digital currency.

The average consumer is not yet comfortable with the idea, or understand, the concept of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency.

You think so, about have you realized how we have gone this far with bitcoin, am not to disagree your point here completely because we have the rural areas and the less informed people, but yet, the elite are more aware and involved where civilization is.

In my opinion, cryptocurrency will be used in the (far) future as a secure way to transfer money

This is already happening as at the moment, the future has already begun.

As there is no regulatory body for Bitcoin, you are still writing on its forums and I am also getting a chance to read and waiting for a more higher value. Your assumption seems to be in confusion. If you consider Bitcoin as a store of value rather than just a cryptocurrency, your average judgment may be thrown into the deep end and you may be encouraged to invest more.

For such a person to sell their house for Bitcoin, they must have to understand the crypto market and what to expect next in no short time for the market to give a positive move on Bitcoin.

However, some people sold their house with their country currency but the fella chose another payment method(Bitcoin) which can be seen as well calculated risk that the hope of many financial returns can be found thereafter in the future

Wow - a lot to pick apart with the OP

The future of bitcoin is still not a stable one

What is a stable alternative?
Do we necessarily want Bitcoin to be stable?

there’s a lot of controversies as to,as it has many regulation issues.

Most of us here dont necessarily care for regulation, Bitcoin is decentralised and by that goes
against regulation. Anyway Bitcoin itself cannot be regulated, how you convert FIAT to and from
Bitcoin can be.

Even the original founder of bitcoin,in fact, has left his position as it was headed in a direction that he did not intend(debatable).

Incorrect - Satoshi was fearful that the authorities would come down hard
on HIM/HER/THEM and so took the correct decision to disappear. Read Satoshi's farewell, Satoshi was
very happy with the direction Bitcoin was headed.

It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context.  WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us.

Quote from: satoshi
I've moved on to other things.  It's in good hands with Gavin and everyone.

I do hope your BitcoinJ continues to be developed into an alternative client.  It gives Java devs something to work on, and it's easier with a simpler foundation that doesn't have to do everything.  It'll get critical mass when impatient new users can get started using it while the other one is still downloading the block chain.

The average consumer is not yet comfortable with the idea,or understand, the concept of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency.

Contrary to what some people think, Bitcoin will not become the one world currency, not everyone
saves money, not everyone thinks of their financial future, not everyone is financially educated.

In my opinion, cryptocurrency will be used in the (far) future as a secure way to transfer money,if it is endorsed by certain regulatory body.It will largely remain to the discretion of the buyer/seller,how they would like to proceed with bitcoin, for the time being.

Cryptocurrency is different to Bitcoin, Crypto is largely regarded as all other blockchain projects.
Bitcoin currently is very secure for transferring money. The weakest link is at both human ends,
the sender and receiver and how they decide to store their Bitcoin.
The Bitcoin network has never been hacked!

Just let those people do make use of their crypto to buy up something on which its their assets not yours, then it would really be that out of our business on what are the things that they would gonna do. This is why it will really that just that depending on how a certain individual would really be that making use of their coins. They are really that fully aware about those moving price or simply with volatility. There are ones who do able to just move on despite of those price increase and there are ones who do make out such regret at the moment that they've seen the coins have spent up have been able to increase its value on much more bigger. They would really be that thinking that if they have that held a little bit longer then they would really be that making up such profit. So it will really be that situational and we dont need government coins out there.

The immediate future for Bitcoin and real estate seems like it will be banks using Bitcoin as collateral for loans at attractive rates. No more having to beg the bank for a loan and jump through hoops to get a good rate. Just deposit some BTC and boom, you have a credit line for houses or whatever else you need.

Bitcoin does not need a centralized system to work but it does need permission from centralized authorities like governments if it wants to become popular and grow. If the government bans and does not allow people to invest in bitcoin, it means there will be no money flowing into bitcoin. I didn't think bitcoin would become as popular and widely accepted as it is today.

The risk is too great. What if after the buyer pays the seller in Bitcoin but the seller says they have not received any payment? Meanwhile, bitcoin is not a legal currency. That would expose both parties to unnecessary litigation and the buyer could face more risk. Not to mention, it's a huge amount of money so it's completely reasonable for them to refuse your request.

If average consumer is not yet comfortable with the idea,or understand, the concept of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency, why Bitcoin more popular from few years ago? Grin

If I am not mistaken, there is a crypto project related with real estate but I am forgot the name and search for more info. The use of crypto will depend on each country regulation and how the government will react.

If someone know what the advantage of Bitcoin in the future, he willing to use his money and invest in Bitcoin. He doesn't want to miss the chance to have Bitcoin investment  and you give a good example for those who sold their home. We also read a story for Bitcoiners named Didi Taihuttu who lived with his family and sold everything for crypto/Bitcoin.

but it will be something other than bitcoin and something that a governing body would launch.
They have launched it already and it is also called fiat. I am referring to Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). It has not better usage than fiat and countries that are creating it said they are created with blockchain technology but that they are not cryptocurrencies but fiat. No better usage than fiat.

Keeping the unending talk about Satoshi aside, I think the decentralization theme of bitcoin has been one of the core strengths.

Regulation depends on the government policies, which are still new and hatching in most countries. If you are scared of them dont come into bitcoin but those who take the risk of getting into bitcoin will surely profit.

When it comes to leaving a job or selling a house for bitcoin, I am always against it. A house has a purpose and is stable investment over the years. Bitcoin may take time to be so easily spent on groceries like fiat that it may take decades to reach. On the contrary that house will have served its purpose by that time.

So if you want to invest in bitcoin buy it at the low and dont think about selling houses for it. You dont need to grab 1BTC you can and should only buy fractions which eventually add up every time the market goes down.

Be aware of Bitcoin legality in your country before doing any thing with Bitcoin, purchasing, selling, holding it or using it for payment, you must be aware of law and regulation on Bitcoin in your nation.

Cryptocurrency regulations around the world.
Legality map.

Doing this is very risky and it brings so much pressure on you. Invest with big pressure is not good idea and it can make you stress and with psychology issues, you might break your intial plan and do something stupid like trading, leveraging and at the end losing your bitcoin.

Invest with what you can afford to lose, but it's not enough, let's invest with what is not stressful with you.
