This cop suddenly developed the urge, out of her idiocy to kill people around her and get insurance money off of it... I don't wanna go too deep but she's an addict, and on top of that, she owes a huge debt to loan sharks and they're after her for it. She excuted the first plan and it worked without getting blown, did she stop afterwards? No! She's executed over 8 people with the same plan and she was only lured and captured by the next Hitman she hired to finish up another 6 different persons. Her cousins, her boyfriend, her nephews and extended cousins and nieces were all her target.

See, the most important part of this story is the fact that she's a gambling ADDICT! I feel like she's been trapped in for so long, hence the loan she's been getting from 'em loan sharks. Folks, long story cut short, she's been sentenced to life imprisonment.
I think (I may not be accurate) that this happened sometime in October 2024.
NB; Can y'all now see, to what extent alot of people can go just to satisfy their addiction problems??

I just took a look at it and I must say, it is very disturbing. I thought it was going to be a recent case, but I guess it did not happened so further in the past for one not to be kind of shocked.
What bothers me the most is how nobody suspected of her in the slightest after she killed two people of her own family and the insurance company did not even did some due diligence on what was going on...

One must be very careful, that is the lesson I get from this story, one never knows who is willing to commit the worst of the most inhumane acts for the sake of gambling and keep their addiction going...

South Africa really needs to fix their system surrounding life insurance, because how the hell can she easily make a life insurance policy for other people and put herself as a beneficiary without proper check-ups?

Instead of labeling her as a gambling addict, I think the better title for that lady is an addicted killer, who kills for no reason and the worst thing is that she committed all that evil to only close family members, the lady is heartless killing her kid, husband's and other extended families members, that is a huge crime.

She may have escaped all the while because she carried out all the previous killings herself and we can not blame her actions on gambling in any way, and aside from the suspected issue of gambling in the early stage there is nowhere it mentioned that he was fund in the casino after any of those crimes and bounty collection from the insurance.

This is not a gambling addiction to me. If this woman is not addicted to gambling, she has an evil mind and probably she will be a serial killer. There are many serial killers that are not addicted to gambling.

An example is if the is not having money, she may join robbers to be rubbing people. Or if she knows how to be a human organ harvester and make money from it, it would have been a joyful thing for her to do.

Due to the gravity of the case, it's not solely about a common addiction. This cop also has a very bad character, besides being a gambling addicted. A common addicted would just borrow money or ask it to others, while not paying them back. But since we are talking about a serial killer, we have to take into consideration there is something else with her personality.

In my opinion the sentence applied to the cop by the authorities is accurate. Someone with those characteristics and history can't be left to walk freely in society, with serious potential of causing a lot of damage and pain everywhere she goes.

Gambling addiction can put a person in a terrible situation. Here, the policeman who killed people and took money from them to gamble, this policeman has committed a huge crime, this crime cannot be looked down upon, his crime should be seen as a very big crime and he should be punished with the maximum punishment of the court. Seeing this punishment, people from every department should correct their mistakes. Still, many departments and many police members, not only police members, but also unique people are addicted to gambling, to correct them, one or two people should be given the maximum punishment and hanged if necessary. I think we all can agree this is not your typical case of someone turning a gambling addict and doing some wrong stuff like stealing from their family members of selling their property to continue to gamble. This woman from the beginning probably bad very serious mental issues which were never address and ultimately turned her into a murderer when all of it combined with gambling and her eventual losses.
This is not only about gambling addiction, she would have ended up killing people for any other reason, like consuming drugs, extreme jealousy or whatever.

I think she's out of her mind. Serial killers are like that; they kill as their only option in a situation, and the gambling addiction is a way to perpetrate his interior motives. Serial killers do not have animosity; they just go on until they are caught or killed.
Kinda reminds me of a cop who becomes a robber because of his addiction to online sabong or online cockfighting; he becomes addicted to robbing because it's easy money.
I wonder why it's only a life sentence if he is convicted of killing 8 people. It should be 8 life imprisonments. If she served 25 years, which is equal to life imprisonment, then she can apply for parole. Since this happens in South Africa, they may have different rules on life sentences.

It's very sad to see what gambling addiction can lead to. There is hardly a single case in which gambling addiction would lead to something good. And we know that an addicted gambler can commit any crime, just like an addict, in order to obtain the desired funds to satisfy his needs.

That story looks more like fiction to me than a real-life thing; it's always in the movies. I watch this kind of evil deed, but that does not mean people can't be that evil to that extreme.

In a situation like this, I can't even say it's as a result of being a gambling addict, but this is pure evil carried out by someone who already has it in her blood. If you are not a violent type, gambling can't turn you to be one; she just needed something that would push her to do what she likes doing, which is the excuse of addiction and the large sum owed to the loan shark.

No one can quote the news because it’s a bit by bit short animated video.. That is insane but also to be in debt like that would cause the loss of the job.   I would say still that is the better option, go broke go do anything it takes to get over your debt and bad bets but in this case it became a motivation for extreme violence and that is tragic.

South Africa seems to reaping a horrible harvest from decades of violence and injustice.  I hope they get through it but sometimes actions like this reflect traumatic events in that persons life that have led them to normalize violence in their attitude to others, it is horrific for sure.

Someone who gets highly addicted to gambling doesn't really understand what he/she is doing and after reading this story I can say that she got highly addicted to gambling and that's the worst thing of her life. It should be better for her to learn about gambling responsibility and that would save those lives that she has taken because of her addiction.

This is the worst way to get money to sustain her addiction; many gamblers resort to robbing people, but for her, it's killing people. This is the worst example of getting addicted to gambling; addicted gamblers are not in the right mind; they are no different from people here who are addicted to drugs; they also resort to robbing and killing people.
They cannot think of what is right and what is wrong; all they need is money to sustain their addiction, and they will do just about anything to get it.

I am not shocked every time I read news like this because I have had a relative who was an addict. I know how blind they are when they want money. For example, in the case of my addicted relative, he was taken in by my house so that we could finance a business for him. We were convinced that he had been cured because he had left the treatment center. One Sunday the guy woke up early and told us that he was going to church. We didn't find anything wrong with it.

On the contrary, we praised him. After he left for church, my brother started saying that he couldn't find his computer (laptop) and the money for his college tuition. We waited for my relative to come back from church, but he didn't come back. Years went by and he didn't come back. He stole my brother's laptop, and on the laptop were his university work. He also stole my brother's  money to pay university tuition fees

This is a really scary story, she is really a psychopath, this is proof when someone becomes addicted to gambling and ends up doing criminal acts, but plans to kill the people closest to her for insurance money, that's crazy, I hope she rots sadistically in prison.

I know how it feels to be chased by loan sharks (I have experienced it but the amount is not too big) they are indeed cruel and do not hesitate to hurt us but if I were in the position of that woman, what I would do is report myself that I am bankrupt and cannot pay, if necessary I would sell all my assets but yes if you really don't want to be in trouble, you have to be able to avoid loan sharks, they are very cruel and like to pressure their victims, the proof is the woman who was OP who became a serial psychopath just to take the insurance money.

The investigations have been done and proven, and even the convict is in no dispute of any part of the informations that gets released to the public about this case... That's what addiction can do to people and not just in gambling but also on other types of addictive substances. It can make a person think about evil things just to satisfy their addiction. Also, this is an example of a person who is cornered and doesn't have much of a choice so he used the evil mean to pay for his/her problem.
We cannot let these things control us. We are better than that as a human being and we cannot end another life just like that.
