Neither family problem (parent/wife/child ask to stop gambling), productivity problem (can't focus, anger issue, keep complaining), financial problem (can't pay bills, in debt, drain all savings, asking a loan).

People keep trying their luck because they believe gambling is a source of income and they avoid the struggle in real life jobs.

Waiting for gambling to get to this point before making a change is absolutely risky...I know someone right now that's in debt because he's chronically addicted to Gambling...he can't focus on his family, he wife is planning on divorcing him, he's my brother and this makes it emotional for me, I have talked him out it several times but he doesn't get better, he keeps getting worse everyday and at this point I don't know what to do anymore...this experience should be the answer to this topic, you don't need d to wait untill you get to this point before you think you think of quitting because it might be difficult for you.

Is it really easy for a gambler to stop gambling? I think it's not an easy one.It is not easy to stop gambling at all especially when you are already addicted to it.Gambling is something that takes a special grace to be able to stop, especially when it has eaten deep into you.

There's a lot of sense In this, I don't think it's appropriate for a gambler to wait till he gets to a certain age before he retires as this could cause a lot of trouble for him. There's absolutely no point to wait until you are in debt or probably in a big mess before quitting gambling. The reason why he refused not to listen to your advice is because his mind is not well made up to quit from gambling which is why he's finding it very difficult to let go off it, because is as if you're the one forcing him to quit from gambling and of which is not meant to be so. Because even if you keep advising him from now till next year definitely he won't even feel any remorse to change from that lifestyle, except you will just bring something that can serve as gamble but that should be something that can add a good value to his life. That's the innate nature of humans. To aim some type of reward after you do something. And we can't prevent that from happening as people will always go to gambling, just because. They may have shallow reason why they are into this, but at least they are deriving pleasure out of this activity. That's one simple reason why they always go back into this activity. One does not even need to reach those extreme cases in other to realize it is time to stop gambling, though. One can stop earlier than more severe symptoms appear and start to actually ruin our life further.

One thing for sure is that they can not continue winning for a very long time because the casino would not even allow a gambler to win too much without losing. Luck comes once in a while and if you are lucky that you staked a huge amount and your bet hit a big multiplayer, the next moment could be a lose too. I think this has been discussed million times here - when a gambler cant afford gambling without major harm to his family, finances, he should stop. That person might even be addicted. It is not a huge problem if someone gambles every day and lose some dollars, if that person earns thousands.
