Maybe she can still represent the Philippines in the Olympics. The country definitely has a decent shot at at least a bronze medal, but it would be amazing if she wins gold as the rewards are huge, including a house and lot, tons of sponsorships, and instant celebrity status.

And since Alex is pretty, who knows? She might even become a movie star someday! Hehe.

For sure Alex will be one of our representative on Olympics and high chance to get a medal considering his magnificent run on the Miami open.

This given on the Philippines showbiz industry. She is now a sponsor of Gcash and BPI based on the logo of his uniform which I think she might have a commercial on the making very soon once she get back here in PH.

It’s sad that this news is not that hype because of the current shit politics drama.

<..snip..>
Ive seen some gambling sites now have odds for the next match of Alex Eala with the top 4 Jessica Pegula.

You think the rookie will have a good odds for some gamblimg site?

Unfortunately, the Cinderella story of Alex Eala came to an end when she lost to the semi-finals against World Number 4 Jessica Pegula.1 Though that may be the case, imagine that she is only 19 years old and her career looks very promising at her age. This Miami run will definitely give her the confidence to steadily improve in the following years as this will shape her future even further.

From what I have seen, the popularity of tennis has been increasing all the years and the sports-betting in gambling has exploded with this event. Alex Eala will definitely be in my radar and in the event that she will be participating in future tournaments, I will go all in on her!

Not only because of the issue to previous president rather tennis itself is not that popular in our country. If this happened during olympics which Filipino is watching due to gold medal I think he will become popular.

Hehe.

And Alex says that the real work will began after her Miami run.

So it means that she will have to work every hard moving forward, as he put her name in the game and again, many are going to follow her every game now because of here magical run. The good news is that she was able to break into the top 70 seeding, she could be invited and in a wild card for the next Grand Slams and we didn't know what kind of run she will do in the bigger stage.

We like here attitude, but I do hope that she will just continue with the sports and not get herself and become a actress in our country. Might not be a career path for her.

And it seems that the Filipino community is very hype around here. That's good, maybe she will be the next "Manny Pacquiao", that will put the country again and become the next sports sensation.
Another fellow Kabayan that will be monitor on sports progress. Yeah she lose with Pegula, but its fine there will be plenty of chances for her to make up with the mistakes and gave more honor to Philippines. As shes only 19yrs old. With that age and achievement she can do more what her opponent did as long as she continue to improve.

Thats something if she can be the next Pacman.

Yes, she has now to be in the radar for fans and tennis analyst and again, I have follow a lot of social media accounts and they all talk about her performance and the closest that they compare is Raducanu. I do like Alex's positive attitude, she knows it, that with her performance, everyone is expecting her to do better in the next tournament that she will enter.

If ever she will become a wildcard in the next Grand Slam, it will be huge for her. And hopefully with no pressure on her shoulder, she could make another great performance but it's going to be difficult as Grand Slams usually has a lot of great and potential talents like her.

Now that the world has witnessed her grit inside the court, and rising to the top 75, as the first Filipina to reached this ranking, I believe she will have a very bright future in this sports. Consider that she is only 19 yrs old, and so she will have a lot of room to rise in this field. She defeated a lot of top stars in this sports during Miami Open, and with her position right now, I believe, other leagues will be more open to her when it comes to her participation especially with top events in tennis.

Just want to share a photo circulating in social media, a young Alex with Sharapova. She will be the next superstar in this sports.

She's probably the only one who lost but was still happy. Hehe. She's so humble, and she wasn't really expected to reach the semis, so wherever her journey ended, it was already a huge success especially since she made history for the Philippines.
Yeah I can see that most of Filipino began their hype over Tennis because of Alex, before there are not much noise about this and now we have a superstar on that league, surely many will get interested now to support and follow her journey. Wondering why the Govt seems not to acknowledge her, as I dont see any recognition form themselves.

She was recognized by no less than the the President of the Philippines.

Perhaps what you mean is the monetary support, maybe they are now in contact with her and the families for support and everything that Eala needed for her next journey in tennis. So let's just hope that the government is willing to help since she has put the Philippines again in the center of sports.

When it comes to sports then probabilities do really happen on which there would really be those rising stars and able to beat up into those known or high ranking players on which this do really shows up that a certain athlete or player will really be able to climb up to the ladder. The countrymen will really be that proud of her on which considering this milestone or lets say this record then it isnt something that you can see on everyday. Surely the government will really be that giving out those support she needs specially when it comes to those common aspects that a certain player do really needs. Beating up world champions is a good feat on which do proves out that Filipinos are really that having that kind of dedication and hard work and specially having the skills. There's always that rising star that will really be climbing up on the ladder and could possible be able to hit up the peak if she was really that dedicated on pursuing out this career.

Her rank was 144 and now she is below 100. way to go as Alex is really young and more years will build her stronger and stronger. Im a proud Filipino and i am very happy for her.

Yes, definitely we are all proud of Alex of what she accomplished. Although I have heard of her name before and read her accomplishment, this is the first time that she really hit that hard and beating 3 former champions.

She is rank in the 70's already, so that is a huge jump from her rankings. We can only hope that she will continue to make new record for Filipinos and for Asians as well as the Chinese are the only Asians that are really doing good in this sports. But now that we have a Filipino, could mark as a new sports that we might excel, although this sports is very expensive to begin with and not all Filipino can make it.

The best is yet to come for this teenage Filipina sensation. I have seen some of the highlights of her games and she has solid serves and is almost perfect on all her hittings.
She is still developing; the Philippine government and private institutions should support her training abroad. Tennis is not the Philippines main sport, but with all her achievements hugging the headlines, many will become interested to know more about tennis, just like they did about gymnastics when Carlos Yulo won a double gold medal in the last Olympics.

The best is yet to come for this teenage Filipina sensation. I have seen some of the highlights of her games and she has solid serves and is almost perfect on all her hittings.

Yeah right, She is playing less error when she beat Keys and Iga. She should beat too Pegala if she didn’t commit back to back double fault during her serve when the score on game is already 5-2 in favor of her while she is leading the score for that set.

Tennis is not the Philippines main sport, but with all her achievements hugging the headlines, many will become interested to know more about tennis, just like they did about gymnastics when Carlos Yulo won a double gold medal in the last Olympics.

This is the problem on Philippines sports. Only basketball is given high priority while only few private companies invest on other sports. Even though our basketball team has no chance to win any international competition that involves US or EU teams.

She will be the next superstar in this sports.

https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=475694808778370&set=a.258948477119672

And with this picture, it just shows that even at a young age, Alex really love this sport and usually we see this to great players, not just tennis, but sports in general. When they were small they have this kind of dream to be big and so that's what manifest here.

Hopefully, the Philippine government will give her the necessary support because this is going to be big for them. Maybe she can also inspired young and aspiring Filipinos to follow tennis as they are not known to produce great tennis player.

I hope so, but the Philippines has never been very supportive of sports, except for basketball, which is the most popular.

For other sports like tennis or even boxing, athletes are often left on their own, struggling to find good promoters to make their dreams come true. The biggest problem is the country's economy, and the people in government are too focused on politics neglecting things that could actually bring glory to the country.

If Alex keeps doing this, there's a possibility of tennis sports making waves in the Philippines just like what Hydilyn Diaz did for weightlifting. Alex is such a pretty teen; with her good looks, she can endorse products and services. I hope big companies will see Alex's potential as their ambassador and seller so she will have enough funds for her training abroad; it's hard to trust the Philippine government for support because of corruption even in sports.

Thats true. Pacman didnt gain such achievement with the help of Govt, but they keep being proud or getting credits for that. I think its time for them to gave some serious support to sports athletes. I dont know if there are some politicians pass law or any bill that get funsing for the athletes to let them have support for more worldwide nationwide competition. I think on Basketball they are supported majority by private companies.

The Philippines probably has no budget left for sports development since they’re too busy handing out financial aid for political gains. LOL. Might as well stop expecting any real government support.

Good thing we’ve got private institutions that never stop helping, like TNT and SMB in basketball.  Hopefully, they expand their support to tennis as well.

Because of her recent win that increased her ranking, private companies and corporations will support his training cost; the government has little support for tennis; this is the reason why for a long time it could not produce a tennis superstar until Alex came along.
Alex will get better as time goes by she is so young and so determined, and she comes from a family that is involved in sports as athletes and leaders. she will get all the guidance she needed to reach her full potential as a tennis player, she will continously give more awards to the Philippines.

That's to be expected, they're never supportive of other sports where we can be the leading. I think one analyst said that we're a good country for single player competitive sports and not with the team sports like basketball. The individual skills that is into our genes are better in some chosen sports and that's why if it will be heard, they should keep on supporting these athletes like Alex so that she will have no problem in focusing her battles and tournaments in reaching to the top of the ladder. She's beaten top players although her journey from this historical tournament for her had to end.

Good thing we’ve got private institutions that never stop helping, like TNT and SMB in basketball.  Hopefully, they expand their support to tennis as well.
I think she's got a private sponsor, I forgot if it's the combination of BPI and Globe.

She already had sponsorship from private companies that remained loyal to her in the last 10 years. But I do agree that she needed more so that she can really go out 100% every time and she won't be bothered by the cost of every tournament she will join.

That's one advantage she has right now, she is very young and so she has a lot of time on her side to developed. And speaking of 19 year old, in the men's side of the Miami Open, a 19 year Mensik beat Djokovic.
