I read the different submission on this thread about how they learnt about Bitcoin and started investing in it and to be honest, I very thrilled with them. Personally, I've known about Bitcoin as trading platform where people invest money and either gain profits when the price rises or lose their money when it goes down. But in 2023, a friend introduced thought me more about Bitcoin and the possibilities in Bitcoin. He then went further to bring tell me about the forum so I can even learn from experts. To be honest, I wasn't attacted b Bitcoin and I have always thought that Bitcoin was just a hyped thing but years have passed and I understood that Bitcoin wasn't the problem, the problem was the way I was thinking. Year after year, Bitcoin was gaining more attention and the price was going up, so I decided to have a deep look at Bitcoin, blockchain technologies and DeFi and then I found out that there is a reason why Bitcoin is getting popular every year and there is a reason why this coin's price goes to the moon. The reason was: Bitcoin is the most decentralized cryptocurrency, one of the original one with the highest adoption rate and you can send money from any place to any place in the world without problems.

In my case it was a simple calculation. There was literally no other way for me, nothing compared to bitcoin at that time.

At the time I had a limited budget, so all I could spend on bitcoin was around $3k.
That wasn't enough to buy anything like real estate.
Keeping it in the bank felt like a waste because I was earning 2% a year when I subtracted inflation.

At the time bitcoin was in a bear market so it looked like a good opportunity. I bought some in the lows before the 2017 bull and it took off like crazy. I've never even considered getting rid of it all since that happened. It's just too good not to have it in your portfolio.

When you find yourself around people who discuss how much bitcoin is giving them as ROI you will definitely want to buy some bitcoin and hold it. I was in this kind of scenario where everyone or my homies where bitcoin geeks so I couldn't but find more reason to invest in it. they gave more than enough evidence of how much one has made from bitcoin investment from 2017 then I just had to be part of this profit.

I came into Bitcoin in my last 2 years in the military. It was Sept of 2016 and I was looking to buy something that was, let's just say not sold everywhere else easily. And once I used it ONE TIME I knew that I was going to need to do a deep dive into what cryptocurrency was and how to understand it deeply, so that I may tell others about its use-case. I had all the FOMO while I was learning about crypto, I remember feeling like I was SO LATE! But, I was wrong. Anytime is a good time to learn. Eventually, I convinced my own bank to provide me with a loan to start a Bitcoin ATM business chain in the Bible Belt of the USA. And the rest is history as they say...

A friend introduced me to Bitcoin, but I didn't invest at once. It took me some time of research and studies before I decided to put money into Bitcoin. Gaining knowledge helped me in understanding how Bitcoin works, its benefits and challenges So I will state that I was introduced to Bitcoin by a friend but it was personal conviction that it was a good asset to invest in that made me consider investing in it.

The good thing these days is that after you explain it to them, if they are sincere in this market, they can read it over the net and learn more about this particular currency. So if they are truly interested, they will find a way how to enrich their knowledge and not just rely on someone else's opinion or suggestions. You need to say your disclaimer as well that you are not liable to what may happen to their investments. You are only sharing your experiences and knowledge but what happens in the market is your out of control. You have no upper hand as to what may happen the next day, or the next month, as you are only relying on your instincts. Better be clear to whoever you are talking to, so they won't expect much from what you are sharing with them.

I mean when I really got into bitcoin my friend was explaining to me what Initial Coin Offerings were and from then on I was hooked. I just thought that it was the coolest thing but also of course I am a coin guy so my interest was automatically more keen than most simply because I quickly found out that there is a physical coin aspect to it as well. "Friends" is still understandable, at least you can ask them how to do better and they can tell you if they can help you be better or not. But, most are starting trading based on just influencers they see on instagram/tiktok/twitter and they end up falling for it. just because someone on twitter shared their futures making their 700 dollars into 70k dollars, doesn't mean you will get the same, in fact it doesn't mean even they can get the same again.

But, newbies do fall for that and they end up making a big investment, hoping they can make that much money. I knew a guy who deposited 100k, just because he believed he could make more money, and instead he lost 20k in a single day. So of course this is a big risk when newbies start, and they should be more careful.

I think something like this has been discussed several times on this forum. I learn about bitcoin limited supply and how people are adopting it. That is enough reason to know that bitcoin it a good asset being the first cryptocurrency which also the reason for the introducing of blockchain. I see it as digital gold.

I nearly gave up on Bitcoin, it was something I choose to follow on my own after doing some research, I liked what I saw and I choose to finding ways to accumulate Bitcoin on my own, but it get tougher because of how things are going then, situation was very bad. I was encouraged by my old man, if not I would have gave up, it wasn't easy for me because I wasn't making any income at the time, I joined almost all Bitcoin faucets and also cloud minings I can find, but I survived.

I had to go through the thread and i must say your father became a figure in your activities with Bitcoin, you got the first interest, then with the encouragement from your father you were able to keep building. Let me ask, what was the difficulty you witnessed that made you nearly quit, was it not being able to meet up the purchase due to financial issues or how the market was and how people treated Bitcoin then?

If it is very important for you to know the reason behind people's Bitcoin journey then you should just simply use the search button because you will definitely get a whole lots of thread and post concerning that topic.
If you ask me it's just and unnecessary gossip. I use to think yea it was important but after some experience and thoughtfulness I think it's just very unnecessary, especially for the Bitcoin board, this type of topics should be made on the off topic section.

If you feel this thread isn't good enough for the board, why not skip and not fill up your quota here, it seems you have better heads than those who gave their views. In a way, this may be related to some other topics, but at each new mention, gives room for more discussion on the subject.
Some persons may not get the actual reason why i made this thread, we knew about some Bitcoin advocates which at the early times when Bitcoin was founded, they did advocate and teach about Bitcoin to investors, i feel at that point where they have no knowledge what attracts them may be part of "Hundred and One Reason" emphasized by the advocate.

I can draw from my conviction that Bitcoin has possibly dominated the internet, where lots of people have already heard about it and remains just about personal conviction to start accumulating Bitcoin.

So you are here already before your friend talked to you about ICO? If not yet, then I think that was cool that you ended up with BTC instead of some random cryptos that offers an ICO. They are also very risky like a lot of projects didn't make it in the exchanges. Some are lucky already to get listed but majority of them still didn't last long.

Cryptos are mainly a digital currency and that physical version you mean must only be a fan made and not an official one, though at least they still made an effort right? We can see how enthusiastic the people here in crypto. When I check out that section, I can see a lot of old members. So like you, this also got their interest for joining cryptos. When i have started here on crypto space, i wasnt that getting involved or having that mindset on trying out to have that investment on Bitcoin directly but rather i did made out some deposits before on trying out make investment on doublers. Can't really be that denied that those experience do really open my eyes into something which really that makes me on what i am now. When you are really that still a noob, then the primary thing that comes up into your mind is on how to make money fast as much as you could. Bitcoin wasnt that valuable on that time but still its a cheap one on which its really that easy to accumulate 1 Bitcoin back then when it comes to buying it literally. It is really just that too regrettable that i have spend up those coins carelessly and wasnt thinking up for long term. Well, past is past and there's no turning back.

In speaking about on the reason on why i had made out some investment then i do only discover for it myself. It is really just that there are those times or moment that you would really be that having those regrets but you wont really be able to progress and make yourself way more better if you wont really be moving on basing up into the mistakes that you have done in the past. My personal experience made me to invest in Bitcoin and everything happened when I came into the forum back in 2022, I had this friend who first introduced me to Bitcoin but based on the sad stories I heard from people I didn't give my friend a listing ear but few years later when my friend showed me some evidence from his investment I regretted not buying Bitcoin when I was told. First I started trading before finally shifting my focus to investment so I can say that my personal experience and someone's testimony gave me the push and conviction that I had before I took the decision to invest in Bitcoin.

Your story is like any other story i have witnessed personally. This means there have been a lot of regrets literally from many current Bitcoin investors. Most investors right now started investing because they were told since to invest and they didn't. The funny thing is that there are still people who have been told about Bitcoin investment still they are ignorant to invest. One day they will experience the same regret when Bitcoin breaks a new ATH again in the future by then they might start investing.

Yeah after I learned about that and the coins and stuff I made this profile. At the time I was diving into bitcoin so much so that I found a real tangible way to make money off of my current profession at the time which was a commercial telecommunications wholesaler. I actually started selling to Bitcoin ATM operators my wifi / SIM services and made some decent money doing that as well. Fun times! It was when I met one operator, one of the larger ones at the time that really drilled BTC in on me and from then on it was no turning back. It's when everything clicked for me.

In reality, I didn't have many reasons to believe in Bitcoin. It all happened by pure chance. I was searching for a job online and came across Bitcoin by chance. Although I ignored it the first time, it kept popping up again.

So, perhaps fate threw me in front of Bitcoin. I started learning about it early on, and I became convinced that I was dealing with something different. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough money to purchase large quantities. I was looking for a job and didn't have the capital. Anyway, I discovered Bitcoin, and my journey has continued to this day.
