CS2 - Gambling with in-game skins

I'm curious if there are people in this forum gambling with CS2 skins. I don't see any topics about this yet and since most CS gambling website also have crypto deposit/withdraw options I think it is a nice thread.

Since the release of CS2 the prices of skins and cases has increased alot even beating returns on crypto. For example a Glove case price was around 0,50$ in 2021 and is now selling for around 8,00$.

Maybe u still have some skins/cases in your inventory that could be worth a decent amount of money.

I currently play on Rain.gg/Csgoroll which are CS betting website with some gambling games like Case battles and Wheel. U can deposit skins directly onto the website and connect with Steam. They use EOS blockchain to verify the results of the bets.

However, I did noticed the odds on these website are not good compared to traditional casinos. For example on Upgrader u have a 45% chance of winning on a 2x. Normally the house would give u a 49.5% or 49% chance for a 2x win. These websites have a bigger house edge compared to original casino games.

Thanks for your info but I was more curious in general whether people on this forum participate in CS skin gambling. Because it is a specific form of gambling.

Cryptos have a value tied to technologies, economies, and global factors, while the market for CS2 skins relies more on trends and player demand. If the game loses popularity, prices drop quickly, whereas crypto movements tend to be more complex.

That said, the only thing both have in common is speculation. People buy hoping to sell at a higher price.

I remember back in early 2015, CS gambling using skins was very popular back in the days. Since these skins have built-in values depending on the community market sold on Steam, it is pretty convenient to gamble these skins with other players as well.

As for its advantages, perhaps its the convenience and simplicity that makes it attractive to gamers especially if you are also playing the game. Rarely, you can win CSGO skins by playing matches and you can use those skins to gamble on that website.

I have heard that Valve has banned this once or how many times. Because with dota 2, I did the same thing of betting items too but it was stopped when Valve stopped it.

I think u can compare CS skins to NFTs if you want to compare it to something in the crypto world. The price of skins is depending on the community the same as NFTs.

There not really advantages of gambling with CS skins but Pack Battles can be quiet fun imo.

ME ME. I've been getting/trading skins since a couple years back, still haven't gotten the chance to get a karambit (any at this point really) from cases sadly. I think the cases in general have increased in price since cs2 released? LIke as OP said, a LOT of skins and cases even increased in price cause of how different they are in cs2. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it to it though. I'm in it cause I just play CSGO ,but if you're not that big of a fan, then just play regular gambling imo.

I read some time ago about skins, there are some really rare ones that are worth a good amount of money. Personally, I really enjoy betting on games; in fact, I usually bet on Street Fighter 6 matches. Recently, I bought a controller to play FPS games (the Xbox Elite Series 2), and I’m thinking about getting into those kinds of games, especially to try making money with skins. I’ve never done anything with games when it comes to real money. It always seemed that there were too many ways to be scammed or for things to go wrong to be worth the effort. Yes, the case prices are quite high; there were price fluctuations, from $0.50 to $8, which is a significant multiplier, and it didn't last very long. I had some skins while playing CS:GO, but I sold them all. I wish I hadn't, because I had a really good collection, and now they're at prices I can't afford. I remember gambling with skins back then, but it wasn't as common as it is today.

sheeesh, thats a 10% house edge, you would be better off selling the skins for crypto and gambling on a casino that doesn't rip you off, and if you win, you can buy the skins you want.
i used to play on csgoempire, but now i only ever use the site to snip deals or sell skins for fast crypto on their p2p marketplace when i need money fast, but i can say bye to that with the latest trading update valve dropped.

what do you mean it didn't last long? cases prices are currently at an all time high, the glove case that OP mentioned is going for $17 on steam right now, and the market just took a dip after the latest trading update.

lol, why are you lying? csgo is no longer available for you to be "still stuck playing it" (you can still download it, but there are no official servers online to play on).
when cs2 was released in 2023, it replaced csgo completely. csgo servers were shut down the same day if i remember correctly.

The thing with cases is that after a certain point, no more will drop.

But of course the hoarder mentality could end at any time because there's also still thousands of any given case that could hit the market. CS2 in terms of play style and mechanics didn't go so well. It doesn't solve any of the issues csgo has and still introduces even more problems.

Needless to say it wasn't a smooth launch. Being made free also is an indicator of this. So the interest is bound to die down most probably. Especially since more focus is based on MOBA shooters these days.
