But as an experts in the BTC investment, taking profit is the major thing investors should consider before selling their BTC in the market. Those that get panic to sell in the bear market, they don't have any option at the moment than to sell BTC to solve some problem, because there is no source of income to apply not to sell BTC.

Anyone that have this feeling of panic in selling, form of salary they need the knowledge of BTC price movement because you don't need to allow all those things to make you sell your BTC at low price.

I feel before anyone invests on Bitcoin they should get a proper understanding of how the Bitcoin market operates. Because if an individual has good understanding they will know that the rise and fall in price of Bitcoin is normal so there won't be a need to panic rather see it as an opportunity to accumulate as much as possible in anticipation for a rise in price.

What you need to understand is this. The number of people that trade Bitcoin every day outnumber the number of people that are holding Bitcoin and whenever there is fear, uncertainty and fud in the market, every trader run to close their position to avoid losses, they don't just want to encounter any losses on their positions that's why you see many selling their Bitcoin and that has nothing to do with people thatbare holding their Bitcoin, it's the same trader that move the price of Bitcoin.

Though there are people that are not traders, they are similar holders as institutional but they don't trade Bitcoin, what they trade is ETF or hold Bitcoin ETF, if the people that are holding ETF continue to sell their ETF, the platform that offer that ETF has to sell equivalent amount of Bitcoin to cover every ETF sold, this is why you see institutional investors like Blackrock sell junks of Bitcoin in some weeks when Bitcoin is dumping, it's no one fault that they are selling.

I don't know how long you've known about BTC or been investing in it, but volatility has always been an integral part, whether anyone likes it or not. Not so long ago, the price lost about 50% in just one day (the declaration of a pandemic), and in all 15 years there were a lot of dramatic ups and downs, so I don't consider an 8% drop in 30 days to be something that should make anyone feel like they have a significant loss, especially if they didn't sell.

Besides, have you been following the news these days? World stock markets are in the red, and even gold has lost about 1.6% in the last week. I personally thought that after the US announced a global trade war, the price of BTC would drop below $80k, but that hasn't happened (yet).

This just shows that a large percentage of investors still have great confidence in BTC, which is really great news for an asset that is not part of a centralized financial system, at least not in the literal sense.

There are several reasons why they do that, some think that it has entered a bearish market phase, they can't afford to wait and see the portfolio continue to turn red plus maybe they have needs in real life.

Others think they can minimize losses by selling early, it could be their analysis that prices will fall further, so they can buy at a cheaper price and can maximize profits with a predetermined target.

I feel before anyone invests on Bitcoin they should get a proper understanding of how the Bitcoin market operates. What you said is true, however, everyone has different strategies in finding profits in the market, DCA is not always the best strategy used by all holders, this strategy is only useful for long-term investments.

We shouldn't have double standards in this case. I say that because I have seen people being overjoyed when the price goes up 10% or more in a day, but the same people will be complaining and whining when the price drops 10% in a month and say that volatility is eating our funds and we are losing value day by day. Why don't people remember that it's the same volatility that makes them profit as well? Why do we get happy when the same thing happens but we get benefited by it?

The thing is, that some people will never be happy, and they definitely don't understand things properly which is why they consider volatility being a bad thing when the market is in a decline while they love it and enjoy when its making the market surge. That's what we call double-standard.

I understand and agree with you. I have been familiar with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, as well as the stock market, for a long time. Likewise, I am not an expert, but I read a lot about it and I also invest.

Imagine Bitcoin at $90,000 minus 8.3%, my loss will be approximately $7,470. If I convert it to the local currency (Brazil), the “lost” amount will be R$43,624.80 or two years of salary (considering the monthly minimum wage here, which is approximately $260). So, yes, for many people here, it is a very high amount, and not everyone is prepared for this loss.

Cryptocurrencies have attracted people of all types, from strong investors to small investors, curious, people with no technical knowledge, who have simply heard that it is the “investment of the future”, but deep down, they don’t even know how it works.

There were people who sold their houses and cars just to buy bitcoin and suffered the 50% loss you mentioned. Many are no longer here to see that bitcoin has recovered, unfortunately they let themselves be carried away by despair.

I think this is the best strategy, scalping the market and trying to get the best out of it as much as you can. Nobody will be rewarded for their calmness for not buying when the price drops and nobody will definitely blame you for selling when its high. Using all money to invest in Bitcoin is dangerous because at least an intelligent and careful investor would reserve kind of capital for emergent fund. In addition, leverage your investment is risky even with Bitcoin, and it is super dangerous if you are gambling with altcoins. Bitconnect, Onecoin are ponzi projects and no surprise that those scam projects ended in hell.

Newbies join Bitcoin market in a bull run and can not prepare good knowledge about Bitcoin's basics and market history, mostly are vulnerable to fud and bear market. It's very human naturally if they panic sell in a next bear market in either a first or second year of a bear market.

Those who don't look at Bitcoin for a long time are easily affected by price swings, especially when they just got to the market and have not realised any profit. They move quickly (panic selling), trying to play safe not to lose more money than they are already seeing, leaving their balance as the price continues to drop beyond what they planned for. Some just wish for the Bitcoin price to be forever green, and there should be nothing like price correction.

I believe people who act this way are inexperienced in the industry. They are likely newbies that have not really witnessed the Bitcoin cycle and how it has been over the years because if they had, they would not be worried or disturbed with the turn of events as it relates to price drop or decline. One thing about this whole thing is that after a while of price drop, there is always a bounce back to a new all-time high which they could have had good profit but out of panic and fear, they were quick to sell off.

Sincerely, it is not all experienced people in Bitcoin that look at it from the long term perspective, a lot are just interested in making profits no matter how small it is, so they buy and sell whenever they see profits, the same thing you are thinking is mainly for newbies.  

Some established members in the industry also make such mistake too. Sometimes I wonder why they would make such mistakes when they know how the system work's at times. After a while I realised that sometimes people could be in situations that would warrant them to take some decisions as such without minding the consequences just to make sure they get things sorted out. But In reality they would not dare such risk knowing the consequences it comes with. So in conclusion, situations at times could make people take decisions as such without them minding the consequences of their actions and in some cases it works out for them and most times, the reverse is the case.

And yes, but greed will always exist. Scammers cover up their operations so much that yes, many fall into the Ponzi trap. At the time of Bitconnect, I didn't understand at all the point of exchanging BTC for something else to lock it up for a while. But the Bitconnect token was at the top of the coinmarketcap charts and promised incredible ROIs, which attracted people. I then remember all the videos on YouTube of people who had lost everything. But I will also never understand how you can invest all your savings in a single project/token/coin (unless it's BTC and you have time to hodle)

it is not only new investors that panic or that  is afraid of bitcoin volatility in fact to me new investors shouldn't be that much afraid of losing because they don't have stash in their portfolio.It is those investors that has been investing for long that ought to entertain more fear because they have accumulated enough bitcoin in their portfolio when compare to new investors.Even long term holder still entertain this fear because the fact that they are holding bitcoin for a long term is not a guarantee that there investment is going to be successful however there holding bitcoin for a long term is as a result of high risk tolerance and discipline on their own path.
