I just got come online to some forum editions as it concerns merit replacement changes on meta, an active p-Merit button on my dash and how we are gambling out our ranks in the next 24hrs. Going through the thread I found this response from the founder;

Lol 😂, refusing to be ashamed, I did say that the op indeed got me for atleast 3 minutes or more, I did not pay close attention to see that the screenshot he shared was doctored, but rather, I found myself following the link to the  porported comment quoted by the op to be from Satoshi, I was on that other thread scrabbling to locate the Satoshi's comment which op quoted here.

It didn't even occur to me to check Satoshi's profile which op shared a link to in the bottom of his post, as I was unable to locate Satoshi's comment, I decided to read comments here, this was when I realized this was an April fool's post 🤣, really laughing at myself right now.

@op, good job anyway, too bad some found out too early that this was nothing but April fool, but then this was fun for me really considering how serious I took this initially.

This was one way for the OP to get the attention of several members. When I first looked at the image I thought maybe theymos decided to put the Satoshi profile in recently active mode but realised later the image was doctored. I wonder how many more April Fools threads will be made in the many hours of the day that still remain.

Being sincere, it has not been easy of me staying anonymous all these years ever since I created bitcoin and also this bitcointalk platform.
Earlier on I handed the administrative desks to Theymos and PowerGlove' to pilot the forum respectively. I trusted them because they have also contributed to the prospects you all enjoys in the forum up til date.

I was lastly active here in the bitcointalk forum in December 13, 2010. So those who makes gesture of my recent active has no bound to be true.

I was wowed that Satoshi was back in the forum. This feels great and fantastic that we are having Satoshi back in the forum after long years of his  absent.

The new AI feature on the app, on the other hand, is fun and I hope it will last beyond this month, as you have stated.  It summarises every mentioned and interprets it in a ridiculous manner.  I like it, but I've had it with him today. 

Whoever came up with the idea deserves a pay increase.

24hrs of humor it was but, it’s all behind us now.

Clearly it was edited or doctored.
Had to thick of something that could surprise everyone and what a day for that to happen you know, when something is up on the forum. Got the recently idea from Theymos, had to crop that off the profile so, the font stays the same and shrink it till it fits

Now, the post counts was where it got a little tricky for me, having to crop just the last digit “6” from where I could find it and shrink to fit was really challenging so, it was either I get the “576” or “76” and I was able to look out for some user and cropped that out. Did my best to shrink till it did fit.

Lastly, made a most recent post of interest to get the link but, wanted a timing that suggested an early hour where several others could wake up to have missed some posts so, I tried editing certain digits from the date timestamp and found out that, just a number alteration could take you back in years. It didn’t really denote time in clear terms but, I tracked that out as well.edited and previewed until it was what I was okay with and was ready for my post.

I hoped to see how a lot of forum users would react and how long it would ride out but, it didn’t take long. Most of you are already in on the culture and have your guards up.


Some took it for what it was presented to be and followed the quoted all the way, looking on the thread for the supposedly “Satoshi post” but, got the point much later. Perhaps if you paid a close attention at the directives of my post which the link was gotten from, you would have known right away but, we obviously had our minds fixed on that historic post 
What it meant though, you

Some was too quick to deduce and spoil the fun, come on, let it ride out in 24.

It’s all over now and the actions and reactions was well received.

Maybe you will become involved in direct competition with theymos when it comes to April Fools. No doubt he will try to make the one next year better than this year but now it seems he might have some competition. If you are going to produce another April Fools thread next year, we might have to vote on it
