China once said that whoever interferes will get burned, and that’s a serious threat.
Let’s be real, China has powerful weapons that could easily defeat a small country. We definitely don’t want that kind of conflict.
That’s why we take a diplomatic approach, since there are many Filipino-Chinese in our country, and any tension could affect them too.
We simply can’t afford to go into a losing battle ..
Unfortunately, we have a president who prefers not to cooperate and have a dialogue with China for cooperation, and instead instigates China by siding with the US.
China and the Philippines can do a mutual exploration of the West Philippine Sea if only they will sit down and talk.
It's hard for Taiwan, because China wants to capture Taiwan and make it part of its territory. I doubt if Taiwan is willing to cooperate, so the Philippines can do a dialogue, but it's impossible with Taiwan at this point.
