When your whole life is built around Bitcoin

Being obsessed too much with bitcoin is not the healthiest lifestyle. Any obsession is no good when you think about it. Bitcoin/trading/blockchain etc might be your job but you should  be able to leave them aside when you are in your free time. Otherwise it would mean you are taking no time off from work which is pretty dangerous for your mental and physical health.

Everything in life is about a balance. Once you start living your life in an unbalanced way, everything becomes a mess.

You are a shining example of being able to get off the rollercoaster.

I am considering dumping all coins as I am tired of playing the game.

I have left the roller coaster in a very stupid and unfortunate way but I have been playing it again for some time. On a much smaller scale though. (Whlch means I got rid of my obsession with crypto)

I have been a believer of having a diversified portfolio since then and so far I have no regrets.

I have built a resilient cash income engine which probably has its own damn mind now.

You have made very important point about keeping good balance in your life especially when something like Bitcoin or trading or blockchain can be so interesting and take up all your thoughts. You are right that remain too obsessed with anything is not good and that includes job too.
Remain able to switch off from work even if work is something as exciting as world of crypto is really important for mind and body. If anyone is always thinking about work and never take real break can get really tired and it can be bad for overall health.
Balance is key in everything you do in life is exactly right like you said. If our life is out of balance it can cause problems in many different ways. It is important to set limits and make real effort to stop thinking about work and doing work things when have free time. This is best way to have healthy and long lasting approach to both job and personal life.

I am not in a position to give you any investment advice as you have much more life experience than me but have you ever considered to have different income generating assets like real estate (or/and reit’s) or dividend stocks?

Living in America and being a very early bitcoin adopter, you should be able to afford pretty much anything now. Why do you rely on mining so much?

Posting is a habit of mine as well. I can’t ignore it.

If the funds are there, why not get bold with it? The kids will appreciate it down the line, surely, if all will be done right.

I understand their situation, and I don't force them to do it either. I'd rather wait until they have already gained confidence because it was difficult to give responsibility to someone who was not capable enough.

I believe there is a perfect time for doing this when they are old enough to take responsibility. Introducing them to Bitcoin could help them understand and enlighten their minds.

You are right, if a child is not mentally prepared and responsible enough to manage an asset, then they should never be given the responsibility of an asset. First, you need to understand whether they are mentally ready to hold and manage that asset at all. If you force them to be responsible for an asset, they will never be able to manage it properly.
They should first be educated about Bitcoin step by step, not against their will, but by maintaining a friendly attitude with them, gradually making them knowledgeable about Bitcoin. When they understand everything about Bitcoin well, then they will be able to keep Bitcoin very well.

Forget about me for a moment and put yourself in my shoe, I am sure there are family men and women on here, what will you plan to do if you are in my shoes right now?

I am a family man too with a wife and three children, what I would tell you is, hustle, do all you can to give your child or children the best of life, a good life..

Whether you decide or choose to mine bitcoin in his name, or create a bitcoin wallet in his name and out in some bitcoin there every month doesn't really matter, remember that this is  not the only child you will give birth to, you still have others coming, so better don't start what you are not sure of finishing..
This kids will eat and they need to eat good food, they will go to school, good schools in my country is very expensive, I don't know about that country you live in, they will wear good clothes, shoes, and so on, you have alot to spend money on, so hustle and make good money first, with time, you will realized there is alot to do for your son, or children, much more than mining bitcoin in their name or saving some bitcoin monthly in their name..
