Just got a notification from Cointelegraph, with the topic Satoshi Nakamoto turns 50 today, I don't know how accurate that is but I thought it worth sharing here, Satoshi is one Bitcoin icon that we have always celebrated and held in high esteem.

His contributions to Bitcoin development and the entire blockchain/cryptocurrency industry have earned him the rank of global cryptocurrency legend.

Happy birthday to the founder of what we all have today and the reason behind bitcoin and our gathering here today as well, Satoshi has made it once a lifetime and this should also serve a lifetime legacy which he has left behind under his name, we are not more concerned about his appearance as long as bitcoin will keep appearing the way we wanted it to, but to say the fact, i still wonder how we are able to arrived at his age when he is pseudo anonymous and we don't know if the Name Satoshi is for a single person or a group of people bearing it, but either of it all, we have bitcoin from Satoshi and we appreciate that.

I don't know how someone unknown will have a birthday. If you know someone's birthday it means you know the person. Like in this forum, I don't know the age of many people because I don't know them. I don't know how Cointelegraph knew his birthday and there is no link to read about this perceived important age.

In any case, if they have facts to prove that they know when he was born, I will say happy birthday to him. Half-century is a landmark age, and I am also moving towards it.

How do you even have his birthday if you can't even find his full name and address. Do you know how little that narrows down the possible candidates?

Based on the source of information they got the birthday from, either one of two things is likely to happen:

- They *MIGHT* find someone and speculate that he is Satoshi (however this will be like the Dorian Nakamoto case and even then the chances of them finding anybody are in the low decimal places of a percent)
- They most likely won't find anything.

Which of the Satoshi Nakamotos? We have lots of people who claimed to be Satoshi. Well, happy birthday to whomever this may be, 50 years is such a big deal. However, as far as I know, the creator or creators of Bitcoin is/are anonymous, and since he is anonymous, I won't be taking any alleged facts about Satoshi on the internet seriously. This could be another content piece to create traffic because even the originators of this information are not sure if it is true or not.

No one is reportedly sure of satoshis age, because it is not even known maybe he is a one person, an entity or group of people who are were named Satoshi. I think this people simply just had to create something, you don’t who Someone is or were but yet there is a clue to his birthday date, with the cleverness of this person or group people been so anonymous over the years I think they might have even cover up their identity details from leaking out.

So except Satoshi had written it somewhere maybe one of his inscriptions on bitcoin blocks that he was birthed so so date then every date we see celebrating his birth or anything are just false information for click baits for engagements. For now the only thing left known by Satoshi is this brilliant invention of his/theirs.

Although Satoshi's identity is still anonymous, there is no accurate data that states that Nakamoto is 50 years old, indeed lately many sources in the media say that, one of them is from the profile of the P2P foundation.

According to archived data from his P2P Foundation profile, Nakamoto once claimed to be a 37-year-old man living in Japan and listed his birthdate as April 5, 1975.

Honestly, I'm not sure Satoshi is an individual and I don't want to say that Satoshi is an organization/group.
But the point: at least Satoshi has changed the world economy by playing a very important role in maintaining The nature of the decentralization of the Bitcoin network, for humanity, the world has experienced significant changes since Bitcoin was created, it was more noble than everything.

Nobody knows his birthday, but apparently April 5, 1975 was what he had on his  P2P Foundation page and as such people have turned it into a day of celebration in honour. I'm sure that's not his real birthday but symbolic of something somehow.

I agree with you that aside from Bitcoin being the real cryptocurrency the rest of the other coins are just copies and tons of them are chest coins, history and time have proven a lot of things in this space and as time and season change we keep building our knowledge based on contemporary informations and other data's that helps us to get more informed about bitcoin and whoever it creators is, are or whatever.

Shared the op's thread just thinking that it is worth being discussed since it was shared on social media and a lot of speculations around the identity and date of birth of Satoshi.

Cointelegraph and other services use such descriptions to attract more views, but it's difficult to know any personal information about Satoshi unless we know whether he's an individual or a group of developers.
Overall, I don't think Satoshi's knowledge is that of someone 15 years old or younger, so we can assume s/he's at least 30 years old.

You celebrating a birthday for someone that will like to remain unknown. I think Crypto-currency community should not feast on everything. No one knows who Satoshi is so how do you intend to know when his birthday is and how old he is.
Yes if an account in connection to him has given any information close to that, it still has no authentic verification. You can't celebrate the birthday of any entity you don't even know about.

The anonymity of satoshi from the period bitcoin was nearly released when he was still kind of reachable by limited set of people till when he decided to disappear still doesn't have enough solid evidence to truly tell how old Satoshi is. I think the best guess we have based on said verified data is that satoshi is probably an Asian group.

Aside from that if you should ask me I'll say since there isn't enough evidence then Satoshi is probably slightly older than bitcoin. Based on the fact that the group must have been together shortly before bitcoin was launched.

I look at the way things are been done in our society every wants to be acknowledged for a great job weldone but look at Satoshi he created something that is is of value for everyone and they are celebrating him and he or they which no one knows did not even care about showing him self to the society.

And I know that there will be reason why he want to disclose his personality and he made everything open that it can be improved because from his initiative comes other coins and no one actually thought about this thing if not for Satoshi and imagine the government even buying into Satoshi idea just that we don't know if he still alive or not and if his alive we wish him a happy birthday because people didn't not value is work untill now.

They want to somehow create a life for him. It's almost an urban legend. If he wanted to be recognized for something, or to be celebrated, why did he “disappear”? It's just a headline to attract traffic to their own website and to receive money for the ads they promote. It's a story that sells a lot!

I was going to make a comment on how we should not speculate on satoshi's identity as he did a lot to keep it a secret and how the best way to celebrate him is not let him stay anonymous. But since this just has symbolic significance based on info satoshi himself provided, it is different.

If he is Gen Z then the oldest he could be when he created bitcoin is 12. Satoshi is definitely a genius, but that would be something magical.

Please let us disregard some informations we see online, satosh did not make himself to be known by the public,  so how can get his date of birth database, so this information of satosh aged 50 years, I will say this information is not authentic, such age is a bloggers formulated age, because satosh nobody knows his real name.

yes there is a lot of people on earth but i do believe that if satoshi left a trace or a hint of his real birthday complete with the year it would be crazy to still not find him so this has a very big chance to be non-factual

Was this supposed to be a joke or sarcasm perhaps?  To give you just one example, Wei Dai, the creator of the B-money concept, was born in 1976 and is now 49 years old. B-money was an idea very similar to Bitcoin. And by the way, Elon Musk is currently 53 years old and was also born in the 70s, so Im not sure what you mean by "Elon Musk era".
