I was visiting an exchange recently and I noticed that the exchange chart of each candles has volume and trading volume. All that I know is trading volume and not volume. Anyone knows the volume is for?

I noticed bitcoin trading volume is very high while the volume is low, but this was opposite for shit coins. The altcoins have high volume but low trading volume.

What is the difference between volume and trading volume?

This is the fist time I have noticed something like this on an exchange.

Got no authenticated clue of this but technically, don't you think the volume differences is based on the coins market capitalization and also their current trading volume? Perhaps the potentiality volume of bitcoin surpasses the alt Coins which bitcoin has more of community demands than the alt coins while the alts are highily volatile.

I have tried looking around, but I am not seeing something unusual. Maybe I am “blind” for now.  Cheesy
Are you talking about that 24 hour Volume usually indicated at the top of the chart and that other volume indicator that appears at the bottom of the chart with bars of different height?
Could you please specify the exchange? Even better still, a screenshot and I also take a look at it?

This is what I am taking about:

You can see volume and also trading volume.

I saw it on Bitget.

I see.

In simple terms if you look at it from the spot trading perspective

So the one labeled as Volume is more like Volume of BTC or JASMY traded in those 15 minutes. The other trading volume is measured in the Base currency, which is USDT. So it's the value of BTC or JASMY in USDT that has been traded in those 15 minutes.

In the Perpetual contracts perspective
Vol =  Quantity or BTC or JASMY contracts traded in that period
Trading Volume = Total value of the BTC or JASMY contracts traded in that period in USDT.

I think the two specifies on different things, which from my assumption, i think one should be the exchange trading volume of that particular coin in consideration and the other the general market volume for the coin as an overall, i will also advise if we can consider the same coins used as an example from here on other exchanges to see what they will have to give, if the two also exist, then one of the figures will be the same while the other will be different because the trading volume on each exchange may differs while the general market volume can be the same.

Read what Bitcoin_Arena posted already. He answered it correctly. The volume and the trading volume means the same thing. The only difference is that the volume is in the coin amount and not in USDT. While the trading volume is in USDT.

This is the fist time I have noticed something like this on an exchange.

Volume is number of said coins traded and trading volume is value traded in USD. Volume would be very high for coins with low price as a $10 could buy millions of cheap coins but $10 won't buy a small fraction of expensive coins like bitcoin.
To give exact example if people buy (and sell) $100K worth of bitcoin and PEPE, the trading volume of bitcoin and PEPE would be equal i.e. $100K
But the Volume would be different, for bitcoin, it would be 1.29 as only 1.29 bitcoin would be bought and sold while for PEPE it would be 15.7 billion (15700000000) as that number of PEPE would be traded.
