Am sure a broader perspective from those who voted him in, who knew his mandate for crypto currency, will agree to disagree on this.

Still, I doubt there's any significant link between the tariffs President Donald Trump is imposing and the current price of BTC. Even though there might be economic consequences of the said imposed tarrifs, it is to note that the atmosphere that such tarrifs will create may sometime in the future impact Bitcoin negatively.

Tariffs are bad for everybody in the short term but it will be good for the US in the long term if they can manage to cut their ties with China successfully. Since bitcoin acts almost parallel with the Nasdaq lately, it will follow the Nasdaq’s movement closely.

Btc is up 7% atm and the Nasdaq is up more than 10% because Trump put a pause on the tariffs. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

I disagree. We are no longer in the 1960s, so Americans do not want to work at an assembly line anymore, nor will they be able to provide for their family with that job like before. If you are a young man and are on a date, and you are asked about your job and respond that you assemble iPhones manually, good luck on your odds of a next date. The status of such jobs has changed, and I don't see that changing because a Boomer President thinks so.

To be clear, I believe some tariffs can be positive and justified.

The thing that I feel is not right is his tariff toward the allies, just doesn't feel right to me although trade deficit is happening but at least things can be discussed slowly.

If Trump doesn't realize yet, this increased tariff is not just affecting Bitcoin alone it's even affecting the stock market too and if time is not taking this tariff issues would really cause a significant problem to the world Economic system. I used to think that it's only the politicians of my country that can be very greedy compare to the government of some other country but the persistent of Trump regarding this tariff issues simply means that he doesn't even care about what ever happen to the economy.
Stock market is definitely the first thing that appear in my mind when it comes to tariff, companies are the one that gonna suffer, bitcoin on the other hand dumping only because price didn't decouple from stock.

If anything, bitcoin shouldn't be the one that affected by the tariff, but panic seller, as the name implies, always sell everything in panic mode Cheesy.

The US President's tariff increase is not only bad for Bitcoin, it is bad for every sector, and I still don't get the reason behind the tariff increase when the US government already knows that countries like China are already in the game in some sectors. Besides, in the situation when the tariff increases leads to tariff battle an increase is not what we need, and  i glad that Trump pause it for sometime I just hope he will do the samething for Chinese.

And at the end of the day, it's the average people who suffer the most! To be honest, it won't matter to Trump if tariffs are increased further or if China takes any action, this guy doesn't even care about these things! They are millionaires, billionaires! But for normal folks like us, those who never wanted any of this, we are the ones who will get hurt the most. We have already started to see the consequences! It's only a matter of time now. And not just in crypto, but in the stock market too, everywhere I look, I see only red!
Yes, it's the average people who will suffer the tariff increase, and I believe they fully know this, but they persist with the action for the tariff increase just to cause FUD in every marketing space, so it could benefit their urge to make more profit and the chance of a new entry opportunity.
Because most of these rich folks are aware of the tariff increase happened, and they have already exited the market to secure their profit and are ready for a new entry.
In the meantime, I hope they will make a decision that will also favor the average people in the future.

I heard the exact same theme in some threads on X, and Trump clearly thinks it would work out, and he is (presumably) being explained by some big fellas, that, - people are not work horses of the previous era.

I don't understand how it could relate to BTC actually, especially through the way of technology. I think many companies and individuals could use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in order to escape tariffs when they make business together.

in the long term you are correct, makes no big difference for bitcoin and people could even use btc to cypherpunk their way out of tarrifs and taxes, but in the short term it definitely impacts the markets, as we've seen yesterday with markets pumping as soon as Trump screamed "no tariffs for 90 days, we are taking a break here!"

don't ask me why, markets are not always rational

What about restaurant servers, sales staff, construction workers, maids, janitors...? Don't tell me that America doesn't have anyone doing those jobs and all its citizens are office workers, engineers, doctors...or that they are all millionaires and doing high-level jobs.
If people are willing and able to do those jobs, there is no reason why they would refuse to work at an iPhone assembly plant. As long as you pay them a salary that is consistent with the cost of living in the US, there will always be people applying and working for you .

The question is can they really cut ties with China and be able to produce products at low prices to compete with goods from China , Europe or other countries...?  I doubt it .

For a country that has traditionally relied heavily on imports and whose economy has operated that way for decades like the US. It will not be easy and quick for them to bring manufacturing back home .

The funny thing is, we really expected Bitcoin to perform extremely well after Trump won the election especially with the launch of his meme coin. It was even one of the key talking points during his campaign.
Alot of persons, myself included thought by now bitcoin should be hitting at least 150k and this is where we find ourselves.
But i guess it was not targeted at bitcoin. Just that the social economic effect will be really. Every action will have equal and opposite reaction.

This period is one of the most difficult historical times for fluctuations due to Trump's unpredictable statements. I expect the decline in tariffs to be called a "tariff bottom" in the future. I dont expect this volatility and the negative impact of tariffs to last in the long term , as there are negotiations between countries and communications to reach a settlement, and there are solutions to overcome the problem. Trump has the ability at any time to postpone tariffs , as has happened, or even reduce or cancel them and all these solutions are on the table.

If you are a long-term investor, you don't need to worry about short-term fluctuations , as they are unlikely to last, and their intensity won’t be the same in the future as it is now.

This post comes across as extremely out of touch. Jobs at assembly plants tracking the cost of living? Do you know that in many parts of the U.S., an average house is about a half a million dollars? Sure, you could pay people a living wage in a factory, but the iPhone price will rise by many thousands of dollars. Are Americans ready to pay $4,000 for an iPhone? Then, you'd have to increase the pay even more to catch up, further driving up inflation.

We are no longer in the 1960s, when a single income from a factory job could support a family AND was respectable. Now, people working in a factory can barely afford to pay rent, and career women are refusing to date men who work those types of jobs. This is why young men have been fleeing the labor force by the way - the payoff is just not there, so they stay home and play video games, making money here and there through occasional side gigs.

The men who work the types of jobs you described are largely sexless and invisible today. Many people pushing for the reshoring of manufacturing - which I support in more reasonable increments, not with drastic policy changes and threats to allies abroad - would never do these types of jobs themselves.

It's so sad that these economic decisions have caused a lot of destabilization.
The tariffs imposed are high and not really justifiable, but I don’t believe this sovereignty will last for long, as many other countries are now stepping up to move away from these high tariffs.
In no time, we may see countries like China and Russia delving into these loopholes to exploit more opportunities. I hope it happens soon as well.

Trump's economic policy seems very harmful, both globally and for the US citizens. But, as he often cancels or postpones his decisions, what he is really bringing to the global Economy and Geopolitics is a lot of instability. Instability affects the Economy negatively, as the key stakeholders cannot make informed decisions and rely on long-term partnerships if someone like Trump can cancel decades of work overnight, and then change his mind the next day.
It does have some impact on Bitcoin as something people invest in, but I don't believe that Trump's actions impact BTC too much.

Note that this will only be the short term end. If the whole structure of civilization collapses, Bitcoin will go down with fiat.

Cool

What Trump could be doing, probably unintentionally, is making other nations rethink their dependency on the U.S. dollar. The days when the U.S. could dictate terms to all other nations are long over - this is what they call a multipolar world. Like with his fantasy of reshoring manufacturing to bring back the 1960s, Trump is seriously underestimating the willingness and ability of the world to ditch the U.S. dollar. The diminishing use of the U.S. dollar globally could be a boon for Bitcoin.

Perhaps in the short to intermediate term, Trump is bad for Bitcoin, but in the long run Trump is unintentionally good.

What do you call the "the end"? It affected Bitcoin and the whole market negatively, and that's what's important. We all know that the same thing won't always dictate the market, but we need to accept the fact that this market is pretty vulnerable to FUDs and stuff like what happened recently because whenever something happens, people react too quickly out of fear and that affects the market since the people make the market and it goes up and down based on their actions.

Another thing that adds fuel to the fire is the impatient nature of retail investors. Even though most of us understand that these dips and corrections are temporary, the price eventually recovers. When Bitcoin went to $74k, I knew it will be back to $84k in no time, but there are some people who don't think this way, they panic, and sell their assets and create chaos in the market, and that causes more damage.
