I run tnn-miner but it exits to the prompt and not starting to mine.
Which cpu requirements are needed ? I did try it on a HP with 2x E5-2697v2 and on a laptop with i5-2450m both running windows 11

Legacy CPUs like those aren't currently supported in the public release binaries. We are in the process of reworking our CI/CD pipeline to either fix this compatibility issue, or have separate files for legacy CPUs.
Be on the lookout for news about it, apologies for the inconvenience.

Honestly it's pretty cool to see people using old hardware on these alts though, not something I saw much of when working on the coins for TNN up to this point.

RinCoin Core v1.0.2 Released – RinHash v2 Activation

We are excited to announce the release of RinCoin Core v1.0.2, introducing RinHash v2, which will activate at block height 170000.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
 Update Highlights:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
•  RinHash v2 – MemoryCost increased from 64 KB → 250 MB
Powered by Argon2d for enhanced ASIC resistance
•  Minor updates to Qt wallet UI (icons and graphics)
•  Blockchain consistency optimizations

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
 Mandatory Node Upgrade:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
All full node operators and miners must update to v1.0.2 before block 170000.
Failure to update will result in chain incompatibility after the activation point.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Important Notice for Miners & Pool Operators:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The hashing algorithm has been updated.
All mining software and pool implementations must support RinHash v2:
• Argon2d
• MemoryCost = 250 MB(256000) (at height >= 170000)
• TimeCost = 2, Lanes = 1
• Password = BLAKE3(input), Hash = SHA3-256

If your miner or pool implementation is still using the old 64 KB config,
you will stop producing valid blocks after block 170000.

TNN Miner v0.5.2 was released, and it has some decent gains once again for RinHash. AVX512 has been redone properly too, so the differences there can be big

Great I follow for the updates. Until then I use SRBMiner

FYI the current version of the tnn-miner already supports password parameter.
I can recommend it, at least for rinhash, it is significantly faster (up to 20%) than cpuminer or srbminer.

With the changes to the Rinhash Algo, which miners have been updated? Which pools too?

The algo doesn't change/fork until block 170,000 (still about 3 weeks away). TNN will be updated right away when the time comes, I can't speak for the pools though. It's not a massive change from miner code standpoint.
You can still mine just fine with existing software and pools until then.

1. Why does anyone involved with crypto who gives a whit about their privacy use discord for anything?

2. I'm looking at how to mine this on Windows, and seriously....you had to make it 5x more complicated than any other CPU-mineable coin out there?

3. Emphasis on point (2) because from looking at Rincoin's website, what I see is a combinatorial reassembly of BS that's been the playbook for shitcoins ever since the first one was shat into the bowl.  See here:

That's been written in many different ways for many different coins--but none of this techno-jigaloo-word-salad says a damn thing about why this coins should hold any more value or have more utility than the next coin or the next one or the next one....you get my meaning.  Reminds me of these:

Bet you newbies who definitely aren't being paid to post here don't even remember those two graveyard zombies.

And your roadmap looks like you haven't figured out what a roadmap is, because it reads like 1) Start driving.  2) Start the engine, put gas in the car.  3) We're going somewhere, right?:

🔔 [ANN] RinHash v2 is now finalized — Argon2d Memory = 64MB

Dear community,

We are happy to announce that the RinCoin project has finalized the specifications for **RinHash v2**.
After evaluating different configurations, the **Argon2d memory cost is officially fixed at 64MB (64000 KB)**.

We sincerely apologize for the recent rapid changes in hashing parameters — these were necessary steps to ensure a fair, ASIC-resistant, and future-proof mining algorithm for both CPUs and GPUs.

✅ Important instructions:

- 🧱 **Node operators:** Please upgrade to the latest daemon that supports RinHash v2.
- ⛏️ **Pool operators & miner developers:** Make sure Argon2d is configured with a memory cost of `64000` (in kilobytes).

This change is now **final** and will remain stable going forward.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of the RinCoin ecosystem.

You can try this open source miner:
https://github.com/Kudaraidee/ccminer-kudaraidee

no dev fee, seems like it uses less wattage too

HARD PASS

I came here to specifically thank you for not getting invoked, at first I mistook your post for spam since I just see you karma farming for centuries, but now I realized this was your attempt to control the narrative and I sincerely thank you for the opportunity you have given the public by over looking this block chain. Thank God we were given a fair market and avoided the upper level vultures for once.

📢 [Update] Use v1.0.1 – 64 KB is Now the Official Chain

Hello everyone,

To simplify and stabilize the network after the rollback decision,
we have deleted releases v1.0.2 and v1.0.3 and now confirm:

✅ v1.0.1 is the latest and official version
✅ It uses Argon2d memory cost of 64 KB
✅ The 64 KB chain (currently past block 170000) is now the canonical and active chain

🛠️ If you were running v1.0.2, please switch back to v1.0.1
No further upgrade is needed — syncing from the 64 KB chain will resume normal operation.

We appreciate everyone’s support during this transition.
Let’s continue building RinCoin with clarity, stability, and community spirit.

Hi,
We've added Rin (RIN) to http://zpool.ca/algo/rinhash. See below for connection details.

Fee only: 1% or less
BTC payouts are processed once a day for balances above 0.00075
Payouts for all other currencies are made automatically every 4 hours for balances above 0.05 and balances more than 0.0125 are included in one of the payouts each day.

- Sample configurations -
To mine rinhash and get paid in RIN:
Code:
-a rinhash -o stratum+tcp://rinhash.mine.zpool.ca:7444 -u RIN_ADDRESS -p c=RIN

Exchange to BTC:
Code:
-a rinhash -o stratum+tcp://rinhash.mine.zpool.ca:7444 -u BTC_ADDRESS -p c=BTC

All of our ports are NiceHash friendly, no need to specify any extra details

SSL/TLS is available for all ports. Simply prepend the port with a 5. Example for rinhash: 57444
