Just out of my curiousity, what is your view on selling these coin dies? It is indeed the most unique piece of Bitcoin Penny, but what is holding back people on copying the coins thus increasing the mintage?

Not saying that you should not list them up for sale though Smiley Just hoping to see your view on this. P.S. I do not mean this negatively.

As long as there are some markings on them to prevent exact copies I don't see why not (these seem to have X-es on them for this purpose). This is a pretty cool and unique offerering IMO.

No worries, my friend. It was a good question, and perhaps I should have addressed it in the original post, so thanks for bringing it up. And thanks for answering it, Cyrus. Smiley

I genuinely don’t know if this is another Bitcoin Penny game or mystery etc. or if these coin dies are actually missing?
But . . .
Here is the 2023 Silver Dollar die up for sale on eBay that seems to match the listed “Missing COA”

Great find, Geo! Shocked

This is not a mystery game. Those six coin dies really went missing from a UPS truck delivery. (I may have embellished on the idea of "long and lonesome stretch of deserted highway," but the rest is 100% true.) The shipping box really did burst open during transit, and six of the retired coin dies really did go missing.

According to that eBay listing, the seller is located in Missouri. (Do they have long and lonesome stretches of deserted highway in Missouri?) Maybe the rest of the coin dies are in the same area? Or maybe the seller has more than the one die? I'd love to know the story on how he acquired it! (However, I won't say a word to him, in case one of you wish to buy it from him.)

In the meantime, the special MISSING COAs are made and ready to ship to anyone who gets hold of one of these legendary missing dies, and I'm absolutely thrilled that one has been found! (Thanks again, Geo!)

Good luck, everyone!

as a note, I did see this die also the other day - And I did reach out asking where they got them - they, of course, refused to say anything other than that they got them thru legal means and that if the "previous owner" wants to contact them to discuss they will do so. But they would not discuss it with me. I was not rude and neither were they. They are just stating they got the die legally "from a vendor" and would not share that vendor information. Which is, in a way, understandable to not willingly give up vendor information just to some random dude on eBay. I would suggest you reach out to them though.

I also asked the eBay seller if they had any others, particularly the 2 missing gold eagle dies & they said this is the only one they have.

could be that they bought them from the guy who "stole" er sorry "found" them after they fell of the truck...  They may communicate this directly to BCP and provide them with the seller's information (the one who sold it to the eBay seller)

eBay seller states Bitcoin Penny told them they could keep it.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I reached out to the eBay seller as suggested, and he seemed very friendly. Unfortunately, after several exchanges, I am still unable to discover how he came to possess this retired Bitcoin Penny® coin die. He did mention that shipping companies will often sell goods from their lost and found archives in bulk lots, but he didn't confirm that is how he came to possess this die, only that he purchased it "legally" through a "vendor." I asked if he would mind revealing in which state the vendor does business, because that might tell me where along the delivery journey the dies were lost. Unfortunately, again, he refused to answer. Oh, well. I'm happy to see that someone here purchased it from the eBay seller. It should make one helluva cool collectible! (Congratulations to its new owner!)

Visit our website (BitcoinPenny.com) for more information about these and other Bitcoin Penny® brand collectibles.

Yes, I did. The seller was lucky enough to find it, so he may as well enjoy the fruits of his luck. That's my philosophy. Wink

He told me he got it from a "reputable" vendor. And maybe they did get it from the shipping company, but that would mean the shipping company found your items and instead of returning them, sold them. That sucks.

I can understand that but for me personally, I would want to know who his "reputable" vendor is and then who that vendor got it from. Someone along the chain of custody stole it. And I dont care for theives.

Who doesn't LOVE errors?!? Shocked Here we have two different sets of ERROR coin dies available for your personal crypto-collection!

The first error set is from our 2018 Platinum coins. (I read somewhere that Bitcoin Penny® is the only company to ever release a platinum crypto coin. If that's true, then here's your chance to own the only ERROR die set from that rare collection!) These coin dies were meant to be made in the smaller 20mm size which is reserved for gold and platinum coins. However, the mint accidentally made these in the larger 25mm size which is typically reserved for silver coins. Fortunately, they allowed us to keep them. Now we pass them on to you. (NOTE: This set includes the two dies as pictured.)

The next and last set of error dies is from our 2019 Gold coins. Like the platinum dies above, these were meant to be made in the smaller 20mm size. Again, the mint accidentally made these in the larger 25mm size. And also available for purchase and inclusion into your private collection of crypto rarities. (NOTE: This set includes the three dies as pictured.)

Please feel free to inquire about owning these unique die sets. And check out our website for more rare and interesting Bitcoin Penny® retired coin dies!

Chris@TBPCO

That would be wrong if you read that so I’ll take the time to correct you (you weren’t even the first to do it). I released a 4oz platinum round more than 7 years ago. While yours are no doubt cute pieces, saying they are the only released platinum “crypto” coins (don’t let the maxis see you call it that) would not be accurate.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4892746.0 <--- According to Uberbills one of these platinum rounds now carries a valuation of $67,154.24 and has received more than 0.115 BTC in distributions.

While you can't buy one of my 4oz platinum rounds any longer, you can still buy their identical silver counterpart (in size and design) here: https://nastyfans.org/mint

OG did - a 4 oz platinum with 1000 seats - he valued the coin at like 50k in 2021 due to platinum price of 4 oz's and the cost of 1000 seats.
