There are so many news about bitcoin and cryptocurrency but if you actually listen to many of this news, articles e.t.c you are meant to notice that they are most times not meant for beginners and I don’t blame anyone for that there are many consumers for such news and articles already.

Using myself as an example I wasn’t really taught well about cryptocurrency and I know many too have this experience. Cryptocurrency was sold to me as an investment opportunity that was guaranteed to give me good returns on investment, but that is actually not true.

It’s bad enough that many beginners are getting the wrong or half picture about cryptocurrency but as a beginner you should also help yourself out.

This is a very important topic and I don't think any newbie or beginner should pass this one. Some people may understand something but find it hard to explain that same thing to understand completely.

It's unclear to me if you are asking these questions, or if you're merely giving some kind of guidance (eventough which guidance you would be giving isn't clear to me)

Just in case you're unclear about these questions yourself:

1) many things... Market fluctuations for one, especially if you invested more than you're able to lose and if you have weak hands... An other thing is getting robbed or losing
 (access to) your funds (in one way or another)

2) yes, there are risks... Against market fluctuations it's very hard to secure yourself. Against losing your funds a hardware wallet (or airgapped wallet), good opsec, and due diligence when spending usually go a long way.

3) maybe? Depends on where you live... I know in my country crypto currency's are perfectly legal. I think they are in most of the EU... In the US they're legal aswell, their new president even wanted to create a bitcoin reserve (at least, iirc that's what he promised). There used to be countrys where crypto currency's were illegal tough, i have no idear if this is still the case, but i would not be supprised.

4) the bitcoin wiki and bitcointalk are usually a good starting point... But read before you ask questions... People will usually be nice and answer anyways, but i usually prefer somebody that made an effort and tried to read up on a topic before they start asking questions.

5) look on this forum... There are hundreds... If something looks to good to be true, it usually is... Next to this: due diligence (vet anybody you send funds to, never share a seed phrase or private key, don't trust emails or forms that ask you to input sensitive data or connect your wallet), good opsec, and a hardware or airgapped wallet usually work pretty well... Also: if you don't trust a situation: ASK us before funding an address. Crypto is irreversible... If you send first and ask us later, there's usually no way of getting your money back

Yes Grok, ChatGPT and the rest are good ways to finding information but still we should not throw away person to person learning, I was actually talking about questions to ask those who are introducing you to crypto directly. To start your journey in cryptocurrency with poor knowledge is fine but what is bad is starting with a poor mindset. With poor knowledge,  you can learn on the process, just like most of did and are still learning but if you start with poor mindset such as wanting to catch the next Bitcoin wo that you can become rich overnight, you are doomed to experience heartbreak.

It would have been different for you if the had actually sold Bitcoin to you than the elaborate word cryptocurrency which covers various kinds of scams and shitcoins. With Bitcoin, you are better of because you will be building on something solid that will not disappear and deplete your money if you can only find a way of holding it for a couple of years. With shitcoins, you can be rich now and poor the next day if you happened to be entangled in pump and dump scheme. I'm advising beginners, it is always safer for them to focus more on Bitcoin.

Apart from the above listed points, the main thing that cause beginners downfall in cryptocurrency is lack of proper information. Every beginner will work with what he is been thought, if along the way he notices something is wrong, then they look for other ways which why they fall for scam more often because most of them are convinced to join cryptocurrency to make quick money, if the lose money several times, they will now realize that there is something wrong and that’s when they realize that they need to learn more.

I believe every experienced crypto and blockchain enthusiast we have in the market joined the space with the exact knowledge. What they do is go through the difficult route because there's no much information shared about Bitcoin then, and I joined this forum for such purpose, but in today's market there's enough information and the major drawback is that there's a lot of false information share which is the reason why it is important to ask most of your crypto related question on here.

Well, it is sad that that beginners have to go through some tough times when starting something because they are ignorant about it and it is the reason why is it is to deceive them . Getting into cryptocurrency many beginners have the thought that it is an easy way to make money and that profit is guaranteed without making any inquiries about it.

It seems like asking questions and making inquiries is a taboo for newbies. This is a very good thread and beginners should take it seriously, these are questions that beginners ought to ask before considering any investment and not just cryptocurrency, if only beginners are smart enough to ask these questions then there would be a lesser scam stories by beginners. I'm actually quilty of these too but I was lucky enough to education myself more on crypto currency and I had veteran around me that I was looking up to, I failed to ask these important questions as a beginner too and I'm lucky I didn't fall into the wrong hands in the cryptocurrency space.
