How are smokers perceived in you culture/Environment.

Honestly, it doesn't matter, because I used to smoke myself and I understand both sides.

Everyone with there own opinion and smokes are not supposed to be seen like an alien. They are humans too.

Occasional smokers are better but immediately you become a smoker addict, problem set in here. If you are an occasional smoker people around you may not even know you smoke. I know some people who smoke but doesn't smoke in an open place.

Smoke is not the only causative of cancer and other diseases which we don't need to assume that smokers could be the only ones that could die young.

The word only here sound somehow funny. This shows people knows it could have significant effect on their body. Like you said other things can cause people death as well but people always see smoker as people buying and doing what can easily cause their death. Although I don't against smoking but I hate being addicted.

When I was younger, people perceive those who smoke as very tough people and hoodlums, most parents will warn their children to beware of people that smokes, I don't know why they were perceived that way. But the perception had shifted in present day, I don't think that smokers are seen as criminal minded people anymore, they are seen more as people who don't have regards for their health,  because of the negative adverts about smoking. Although people who smoke indian hemp are still seen as hardened people because for a fact most of them displays violent attitudes. In my environment the number of smokers are not like what it was in the past, many people will rather drink alcohol than smoke.

So for non-smokers it's like those that smokes are giving themselves a death sentence and for the love they have towards them as brothers or sisters they can't hold it back from expressing their displeasure about how they smoke. I know smokers mainly do it for pleasure. So, since it may have negative impact on ones life, smoking should be done on a minimal level if compulsorily you want to smoke. The problem here is that upon all this warning, we still have some addicted smokers that smoke at a very high level without looking at the consequences.

They see a smoker as someone who is bad, Someone who is not loyal, someone who is stubborn and have no love in him, someone who can easily hurt others, someone who is capable of committing crime in the society. And many more I can't remember. Maybe when you read this you can add more to the list. The question is why are Smokers viewed this way in the society?

In our society, smokers are not considered bad people unless they are addicted to some other drug. In my country, ordinary people smoke, although smoking is bad for health. But because of this, there is no chance to say that the behavior of that person or that person is bad. I do not know how others view ordinary people in other countries because of smoking. I have seen many people who only smoke cigarettes who are very good as individuals. They feel relief because of smoking cigarettes, there is nothing wrong with it. But there is no denying that they are slowly pushing their life towards death.

I see how some people are getting involved in illegal drugs. If they were limited to smoking, nothing would have been bad but they get addicted to drugs and get involved in various types of misdeeds which in turn are acting as a big threat to themselves and to the society.

What has also marvelled me about the rampage of smoking addiction even in tropical zones, areas where the weather conditions there are warm or hot depending on their closeness to the equator.  The excuse of cold weather regions like Europe can be understandable as smoking could also help keep one warmth which inadvertently could lead to imcreased smoking addictions but for the already warm weather areas I wonder what their excuse could be. I had expected that these areas should have people smoking less if they're doing it for pleasure but this is not the case.

Yeah in my own society where I come from smokers are seen as bad people especially if the smoker is a young person they see him as someone who can never become useful in life or someone who can never succeed in life and the worst of it all is when a girl is a smoker in my society they will never value the girl she is seen as someone who can never make a good wife and someone who can never make a good mother, as a girl if you decide to become a smoker in my society then just know you are alone no other girl will love to come close to you so they won't be tag a smoker too.
But I think the origin of all these is because smoking is very harmful to our health and if you check the pack of a cigarette it is written smokers are liable to die Young so people see smoking as a suicide mission and no parent or family member will agree or accept there loved one to die young so if you are seen smoking it means you want to commit suicide and again the smoking of India hem has made a lot of people lost their senses so smoking is actually seen as something that is not good to do over here in my town.

i think it still depends on. the culture of your country because in my country we are very heavily religious so it is often that people will judge smokers and think that they are automatically bad people

though i guess it doesn’t matter much anymore since more and more kids are getting into vaping and even adults are vaping more than ever i am seeing vapers more than i have seen smokers before

In my culture, smokers are often seen in a very negative way, people think they are bad, untrustworthy, careless, and even dangerous. This harsh view may come from the way smoking is linked to bad habits, poor health, and sometimes crime in movies or real life. Many also believe that if someone chooses to harm their own health, they might not care much about others either. With the rise of things like 15k vapes, smoking has become more visible and common among young people, which adds to the worry and fear in society. That’s why people sometimes judge smokers quickly, without knowing their full story.

I really think this depends on the country you are in.

Certainly in most of the USA and Canada people look at smokers like murderers.

In Europe, people are generally a lot more tolerant.

BTW I stopped smoking last year but this is just from my personal experience.

First thing they’d see you as in my environment is a thief so best pray nothing goes missing while you’re there and they mostly associate them with cultism..
They think of  smokers as one who  can do anything for money so long it keeps them going..

Smoking is a habit and it doesn't make you less of importance in the society. Though some folks in my society sees smokers as people with some kind of ill attitude but that's not true.
One can smoke and still be of good behavior in the society.
