Being early is good, those that was early and still holding their bags can testify to the   goodness of the large profit that has been made so far. That's their advantage of being  early, but for people that are buying now, their reward is in the future and patient will grant them that profit they want to get.
The difference between now and then is that anyone could easily buy many Bitcoin in the early time, but this time has become tough for many people to even buy one Bitcoin in a blink of an eye except the person is already rich. This time around, the process of filling the bag with some BTC is rather gradual and consistent than quick.
The prerequisite to this thread is this one, as the OP also emphasized on patient.

this is the exact reason why a lot of people fail in crypto they are wishing for quick and immediate returns when in reality it will not happen as fast as they expect it to impatience gets in the way then they just end up abandoning crypto and failing to properly see the profits over time

That’s a lot of encouragement in the OP but then, it would only make sense to the few that allows it to inspire them towards hodling and being patient with the market.

You don’t need to have any particular goal when it comes to hodling. It becomes increasingly difficult to hodl when you have a marked out goal and the market is dumping. You feel your goal is at a distance and becomes threatened to sell when all you need to do is to avoid having to refresh the charts and keep topping your portfolio.

If you are holding trash coin I am sorry to say but you are actually stuck and very possibly not coming out of it.
Crypto-currency don't care how much you motivate yourself of you make the poor decisions then their are consequences for those actions.

Sometimes it's best to count your loss and restrategize because this will help you learn from your experience but holding on to dust will only aid in you making poor decisions in the future. For me it's Bitcoin because many of those low cap gems aren't worth it.

Patience is definitely the key to everything, especially when you feel like your portfolio isn’t moving. I believe the time spent on it is not wasted and that it will pay off one day. Now, if someone is impatient and “slips” right at the beginning, they surely won’t do well, that’s why i’ll say it once again, patience is the key!

I'm in the game for over 12 years now. I still don't have a lambo, 7-figure net worth, or all the glitz and glam like everyone else is enjoying whom I know started at the same time as I did. It's the reality, I can't really focus much on crypto because I have to face the grim reality of prioritizing my immediate future rather than banking heavily on bitcoin. It didn't discourage me into putting something in my wallet every month, and they really help in covering a lot of things for me from a financial standpoint, and I think it's more than enough for me for now.

Similar discussions in 2014 were also present when the 2013 bubble popped. Negative speculations on the future of bitcoin, on whether it can reach the same heights before and other stuff were evidently present, and was the general mood of this forum on those days. The only light during this time is a post from this very forum that has become the mantra of all bitcoin holders that are stuck with bags they cannot sell due to price crashes: I AM HODLING.

Bitcoin has proven time and again that it will always bounce back from whatever shit hole it is put on. It made numerous batches of new millionaires faster and easier than any other snake oil investment schemes who promised the same thing to its investors. If you can weather the storm, and have a job that helps you put food on the table and paying the bills, do not sell and just forget that bitcoin exists for a few months, come back, then reap the rewards.

On the contrary though, if you have a goal then why become impatience and thinking of selling? That's why goal is really important, either short or long term. Of course, there will be temptations along the way, but if you have a plan, then stick to it.

With that, you don't need to check on the chart every minute or so. Just like the market do it's thing and for sure, those who have patience will win the game. This Bitcoin investment is not a sprint, it's a marathon. And we have heard a lot of members here who can HODL as long as they want.

Just like I've often said, there's no instant in learning, especially in making profits. You come here to learn and start a good investment, so why chose to be impatient and eventually go for wrong decisions. If you are here for long-term investment, then never go against the market but just ride with whatever condition the market will face.

Victory comes with a process. And the process is never easy but clearly hard and tough. But if you know your goal and you'll stick to it, success will definitely come in the end. You don't need to rush but be patient and understand the market. Winners are those who chose to be patient, and not those who jump into negative conclusions.

Only newbies are the people who could be that interested in quitting or getting much scared of the market when there seems to be a challenge in the market, this could easily propel them to dump as well without them knowing that it would recover after some while. Investment is good whenever there seems to be dip to have a corrections in their investments.

Yes, it's true. "The market rewards patience." Those without patience will never make a profit from this market and will forever lament their bad luck. This market offers many opportunities, but it requires work and patience.

From my personal experience, I have many real-life friends who tried to enter the crypto market, but they failed and left immediately because they lacked patience and couldn't continue. They thought they would make profits easily, so they became desperate and frustrated. There are no instant profits without hard work and effort.

I was this weak before that, a few thousand movements and dump, I am already shaking and was shaken out of the market for so many times. Until I got used to it and was no being bothered anymore.

They are doing it right but they have to experience the ups and downs of the market. This will make them stronger and won't be easily moved if the market is volatile and it is not going according to what they're expecting it to be.

When you are playing the long game, patience in crypto is the key. People who has more to worry somewhere else can just buy BTC and leave it alone for years and just take profit when the time is right.

People who have bought BTC in the peak of 2017 would have profited still if he hold it. But back in 2018, those guys must have regretted when they bought at 2017 peak. So yea the patience pay.

This is a typical behaviour of traders and not holdlers or probably someone who just jumped into the space without having much knowledge of what he's into. Being a holdler free one's mind from frequent discomfort arising from market rapid movement especially when you have a long time projection. The moment you start refreshing your chart every now and then, you need to realise that this journey is not yours and you should probably look into something else before you'll be depressed or discouraged.

Yeah, and likewise it drains the patients. One thing that matters here is to know what exactly you want before even making your investment. When you patience too much, you lose the right time to exit.

 It can be daunting for the new investor because then they begin to harbour thoughts like "why is it in my own time that prices have refused to go up" and soon they begin to wonder if it was ever a good idea to start it in the first place, but just like the Op is trying to encourage, it's not like you made a bad investment or you're stuck, it's just a matter of being patient and allowing the seeds of your investment grow into something profitable for you. Anyone that said that the road to making it in Bitcoin is a smooth one forgot to tell you the truth and you equally didn't make your research to prefer you for this.
