Not that it deserves a red tag but surely a follow-up.
A similarity can be found between their two accounts (.info). Based on this, we can be sure that these two accounts are being managed by the same person. Although no scam has been found connecting their accounts, we cannot say anything for sure. However, Looking at the two accounts' names, it seems they are trying to do something about something. Since the new account has no merit, he has given many merits to a low-quality post. Undoubtedly, this is a misuse of merit. Establishment merits are not worthy of being given to such a low-quality post. These should be taken care of, and they should leave a neutral tag. If you leave a neutral tag here, they will be careful about abusing merit from now on.

I find it strange that people don't think at all when they do things like this - or do they think no one will notice? Maybe no one would react if it was a 5 merits transaction, but 25 definitely attracts attention and casts a shadow on both accounts.
As for tags, I think that anything more than neutral is too much (if even that), and that it is best to follow what will happen in the future - but one thing is certain, that post does not deserve that amount of merits, although some may say that it is a matter of subjective assessment.

Funny enough I thought about this. What if he had given the merits like 5 different times on different posts to get to 25, no one would have noticed. Just that they decided not to think at all. As for tags, I think that anything more than neutral is too much (if even that), and that it is best to follow what will happen in the future - but one thing is certain, that post does not deserve that amount of merits, although some may say that it is a matter of subjective assessment.
Yea, theymos said something about someone not being in the DT for long if they tag people for mere merit matters.

Did he? - how would he remove them? DT is decentralized. Merit is tied to reputation on this forum. If someone is blatantly abusing merit, they should be tagged.

As stated above by Vod, given how the DT system works, theymos can't remove anyone from DT list. Users can be removed from the DT list, only if other DT users make such decision. I just did a search to see if theymos has ever said anything about giving negative feedback to someone for abusing the merit system and I could found the following statement. Giving negative trust for merit trading and deceptive alt-account use may be appropriate, but you should use a light touch so that people don't feel paranoid.

I am pretty sure they are alt, or they know each other somehow. Also, it's true the post doesn't deserve 25 merits as well. But unless there is clear evidence of merit abuse and merit sell, most probably he won't serve the tag. You may keep an eye on their activities. Because theymos isn't too strict during sending merits. If a DT member tags you for something stupid involving merit (ie. probably anything less than selling merit), then they're not going to be a DT member for much longer.
Though it was about a merit source, he seems quite soft about sending merits. To be honest, I am too. I want more merit circulation in the forum. But don't encourage merit selling or abuse anyway. If there is clear evidence of merit abuse and selling them, I might tag them. As a merit source, I know that merit sources can't sell their merits. Otherwise, they could spread it anywhere they want. This means normal users are free to send their merits as they want, but can't abuse merit system anyway. how would he remove them? DT is decentralized.
Actually not, he cloud blacklist (if he wants) to be a DT member. You can see from above and below quote. - You must not be manually blacklisted from selection. This is done rarely, but it can be done if people are found to be gaming the system, or if they request that they are removed from selection.
This is one of the requirements to become DT members.

This is one of the requirements to become DT members. Tecshare was manually blacklisted and eventually had a stroke/died. Was he gaming the system, or just asking questions Theymos didn't want to answer? https://bpip.org/Profile?id=15728TECSHARE First Exclusion Ever

These two accounts have one common origin. I have not checked the accounts themselves and who writes what. But pay attention to the connection that bitcoincasino.info offers as a common contact for communication. Do we need to guess that these merits were transferred to a random account that has no connection? https://bitcoincasino.info/about-us/

If it can be proven that they are the same person, then it's deserving of a tag.
You can always use the feedback system how you want, but make sure you are not misusing it. Once theymos said this - If a DT member tags you for something stupid involving merit (ie. probably anything less than selling merit), then they're not going to be a DT member for much longer. Ok. It seems both accounts are owned by the same group/person/company. This makes me wonder if you still consider this as merit abuse. What about threads that are created onthe Games and Round section and people send them merits? We all know LFC, Jeremy, and some other guys work for Sportsbet ,and whenever their sister casinos like Livecasino or Bitcasino create threads in Games and Round sections, their employees send them merits. How do you see that? I think it is pretty much common. The employees and even friends send more merits to each other.

This makes me think: 1. That post does not deserve 25 merits. 2. The two accounts are probably managed by the same person or they are likely people from the same group.
If you see a profile that gives merit bitcoincasino.info, also advertises the same gambling site, as well as those who receive merit CoinGambling.info, Advertise the same gambling site. I'm sure they are both Alt. Forum rules:Can I give merit to my alt accounts?
No, this is frowned upon and will almost certainly lead to you receiving negative feedback if discovered.
Indeed, if you see the merit that can be used as deliberately given to Alt, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5522983.msg64853944#msg64853944, Only by replying to the main account post. He answered with an Alt account and gave merit to the Alt account.

I do not know why you are so surprised because many times when we see between two accounts something that does not seem to have much importance after revealing it to the community we end up realizing that it was the tip of the iceberg, and so far, apart from the transaction that I describe in the OP we already have that the two accounts are operated by the same person, as hosemary says, and that according xLays explains they have a not very honest behavior when creating threads in the gambling section.
Yep, you're right. We've both seen this type of shenanigans before, and there probably is more beneath the surface of what you've uncovered here. I guess I was focused on the merit aspect of this and not thinking about the potential of alts and scamming and so forth--so my bad on that one. In my defense, my brain was exhausted when I wrote my last post here. Now that said brain is refreshed, I take back what I said about the appropriateness of this thread. Feed 'em hell until their bowels are scorched.

CoinGambling.info earned 25 merits for this post. The sender was bitcoincasino.info who has been on the forum for over a decade, and who has never earned any merits or sent any merits other than that transaction. Probably got the merits airdropped when the merit system went into place. This makes me think: 1. That post does not deserve 25 merits. 2. The two accounts are probably managed by the same person or they are likely people from the same group. Not that it deserves a red tag but surely a follow-up. You are right as I don't also see that post worthy enough to receive such huge dump on a newbie profile. Your instinct aren't lying as that could be management one person and also trying to gain attention as I think the account that received 25 merits a casino account created for their site, for me 1 or 5 merits is enough for such account.

No, this is frowned upon and will almost certainly lead to you receiving negative feedback if discovered.
This quote contradicts the one by theymos, written 9 months later. If a DT member tags you for something stupid involving merit (ie. probably anything less than selling merit), then they're not going to be a DT member for much longer. As the system is mostly decentralized, except that theymos can blacklist people from time to time, we cannot say that one statement is more correct than the other. I didn't remember the hilarious quote, as I think the community has generally gone by what theymos says, neutral tagging these cases at most. I see that Vod has red tagged the receiving account. I don't know if we will have drama about it.

You did well to notice this and also term it suspicious, but to what end? "What is good for the goose is good for the gander." If some reputable members here could write a 3-word phrase and get over the 25 merits, how much more what CoinGambling wrote? Besides, what could that possibly ulteriorly benefit CoinGambling?

All your points are indeed valid because they prove some constructive points. That was why I started by acknowledging the suspicion, but have you heard the side of CoinGambling? On the side of defence: I asked that question because some people are kind. What if @bitcoincasino.info detected that the user needed help with the visibility of the image and decided to render it? If it's about the visibility of the image, he could have sent fewer merits to avoid suspicion, and the same purpose would have been achieved. Talking about unsolicited kindness: It reminds me of a time when I was in one of @yahoo62278 campaigns (I am not sure of the CM anymore, but it must likely be him). We were required to earn at least 1 merit to be qualified for the weekly payment. In a certain week, a guy was about to miss his weekly payment due to that, as it remained about an hour, if not less. I had to send him 1 merit in one of his deserving quality posts without knowing each other. Doesn't that look suspicious despite not knowing each other? If some cases are unravelled fairly, you would be shocked that the most-perceived guilty may be guiltless. *I don't speak for either of them, just saying.*

*I don't speak for either of them, just saying.*
To be honest, sometimes we make a lot of drama about the transfer of merits. Yes, it looks very ugly and dishonest when we see accounts that come to the forum solely to earn money and exchange merits either between alternative accounts or between some of their acquaintances. Now this is observed in the Nigerian local section and Bangladesh, although it seems not so noticeable there already. But as for these two accounts, there is a different situation. It seems that one old account has already left the game for publishing on the forum and, considering itself an account with a rating, does not think about merits. Its second account is probably supposed to be more active, for which such an amount of merits was allocated. Maybe to attract clients or users who answer their topics, or maybe to give weight to this new account. It seems to me that they are absolutely indifferent to the presence of a negative tag on their profiles. Moreover, there is no fraud as such, and a small mark about merits does not mean anything for their business.
