Jake Paul has announced his return to the ring and the opponent will be none other than former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This is honestly nothing more than another money grab fight. Chavez has recently been in jail, rehab treatment, and a psych hospital. He has not looked good in about a decade and he lost to an old Anderson Silva, who Jake Paul beat in a wide unanimous decision.

They certainly were not going to stop after the Mike match and all the attention it got. I personally don't mind him fighting people who are not in top shape, it shows that he understands he's not at that level to box with top professionals. The part I don't agree with is the speculations that some of the fights are faked and the opponents have to sign undertakings. If that's true, it's a huge low.

It's alright if you're going to fight in matches that give you a good chance of winning, but you also need to take on the risk of losing.

If you check how most media outlets are promoting this, it's being built up to be a big fight with so many connections being drawn to Chaves jr's father and his former titles.

I don't think it's a step-up-level fight for Jake Paul. Sure, the guy is a former world champion—that sounds good—but checking on how Chavez Jr. deteriorating outside and inside the ring, that former World Champion in Chavez Jr. name will not materialize and cannot be capitalized on. A boxer is only as good as his last fights; he is 3-3 in his last 6 fights, and two of his recent wins are against unknown fighters.

Although Chavez Jr. is 39 years old and has been far from championship form in the last eight years, I think his experience can give him an advantage against Paul.

What new promotion and new organization are you talking about? He had his MVP company already that handle his business. And why create a new organization for exhibition match only? Doesn't make sense as he is one of the few that is still doing this in combat sports.

No, Chavez Jr is done already in boxing, he was once touted to be the next big thing coming from Mexico because of his father. But the didn't developed his full potential or perhaps he is not as good as his father. And then he just tear himself a lot. It's just very unfortunate how things turn out for Chavez Jr. So this is another good chance for him to still make a lot of money despite on what had happened to him.

Exactly, Jake Paul only likes to choose fighters to do his show, and not fighters who are in full physical and technical shape... he probably chooses some of them, offers a good contract with a good amount of money, and in the end it's a great deal for all parties involved, Paul, the opponent and the fans.

But I do agree that he needs this fight to have money to bring food in the table for him and for his family. He is out of the boxing for many years and this is one of lifetime opportunity to make millions again and he is lucky that he still have that surname that carry a legacy and that's why Jake Paul never hesitated to contact him for a fight.

Maybe. We all know perfectly well that it was an exhibition fight, but as a former Iron Mike fan, I liked it anyway. As for this new fight, it's certainly not that interesting anymore. In general, after Mike Tyson, it will be difficult for Jake Paul to find an opponent who is so popular and famous to create a lot of hype around the upcoming fight. Of course, Chavez Jr. is clearly not such an opponent.

Maybe. We all know perfectly well that it was an exhibition fight, but as a former Iron Mike fan, I liked it anyway. As for this new fight, it's certainly not that interesting anymore. In general, after Mike Tyson, it will be difficult for Jake Paul to find an opponent who is so popular and famous to create a lot of hype around the upcoming fight. There is one opponent, and that is Conor McGregor. We have heard that news that they will be fighting and all of the places it's India. But it was scrapped down perhaps they know that it might not be as biggest if the fight is going to be in the US.

So Jake Paul will have to continue what he is doing best and so he found Chavez Jr. And probably he can still pull that trigger for the fans just like what we thought of Mike. But Chavez Jr. is already way past his prime and this is again for the money.

If the fight became more controversial then it became more sellable to audiences that's why its not surprising that Paul will select Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

But this is tough match for Paul since even if Chavez Jr is out of his prime still he has a great experience and somehow more younger compare to Tyson so provably that he can give a good fight against Paul.

Will not expect much on Paul but maybe we can see a good match up in their fight.

I though that after a fight against Mike Tyson, level of Jakes opponents would only go up. Though that he would search for a more challenging fight. Chavez Jr. is not an easy fight, guy isnt old lol Has decent amount of wins. But Chavez Jr. isnt a real danger. For example Chavez Jr. lost to Anderson Silva, who isnt much of a boxer. While Mr. Jake Paul is boxing the retired legends, it'd be more interesting for him to actually lose for once.

They have enough time to choreograph it if they want. Is Jake Paul too much of an egoist to pretend he's a good boxer against some 60+ dudes? I'm insistent that it'd be much more fun to see the oldie win the match and it'd make for great entertainment if they could play it well.

People yearn to see Paul losing but he's too much into fabricating an image for himself it seems. Not sure how this one ends up because I'm not familiar with Julio Cesar Chavez but I'm sure it's going to be staged either way. It's about the money at the end of the day so in terms of betting there's little interest as it's a non-sanctioned event.

Since I've watched his fight with Mayweather, I knew he is a good actor. Even if he wants to win, Mayweather wouldn't take it, even if Jake paid him more, considering his ego. He wouldn't allow his no-loss record to be tarnished, even if it's just an exhibition match or staged. But Chavez might agree, he's got nothing to lose here and might get paid more for doing that. I'd like to watch him fight for real, even those boxers past their prime, as long as the fight is not staged. For example, Nonito Donaire. He has passed his prime, but if they are going to fight for real, for sure Jake Paul would get KO'd.
