Posting in mega threads are not prohibited in the forum, and people have liberty to post in whatever threads they want. Myself I don't have knowledge about programming and coding, I struggle with that alot, so I can't post there. But in terms of my posting habit in this forum, I try to be as versatile as I can be.
Like I said initially it's all about interest. There is always room to learn and ask questions of things you are unsure about infact it's one of the main things that occur in technical discussions. The forum doesn't prohibit mega threads doesn't really mean posting in mega threads is fine. It mustn't be technicals sometimes economics is great.

I believe that the basic knowledge of bitcoin technical aspect is what is needed for anyone to contribute on the technical board. However, many Nigerians don't rush into posting in technical boards because that's not their field in school and it will look strange to them especially those that don't like mathematics in school.
You do have a point nevertheless technicals must not be posted on the technical board only. Infact bringing those kinds of related discussions to the Local board would be more interesting plus more people here could learn from it. I noticed sometimes the fear of posting the wrong is why some do stay clear but on the LB the pressure is way thinner.

There is valid point in what Frankolala said and good enough Mia Chloe you also supported and for the benefit of those who might be interested including myself am also of the opinion that such technical discussions should not only be posted in the in the technical board only, if we  tell ourselves the truth the basement of getting involved in the technical discussions boards is not as the same as getting involved in other mega threads for a beginners that want to participate but nevertheless, it will be a welcome development if there can be a better way this technical discussions will be introduce in our own bunch of locally and precise way of getting the basic knowledge here first which will give us enough courage to contribute in the main technical board, Mia I really appreciate you bringing this discussion here and I believe you will take it to the next level.

Everyone doesn't need to have technical knowledge on the board. The point is the number of Nigerians that venture technical discussions can be pin pointed to roughly 5 which isn't a good thing if you ask me. Aside from that we have others in economics but not full time Economists. Everyone has a strong suit but it mustn't be the same but less than 1% of technical discussions on the board is too lame if you ask me....
It is still about interest and whether or not the individual in question is ready to study the technical aspect of bitcoin, other than just knowing the basics and staying stuck in it. if there is going to be a direct use of the technical knowledge on the forum, believe me that a lot of people on our local board would have jumped right in and tried to understand more about the technical aspect of Bitcoin. with the different boards that beginners can participate in, simple discussions without even going to the technical board, not many people would opt for something technical when the easy one seems to yield the same kind of result they are hoping to get.

on the local board and even on the other board, people only react to what they know of, contributing to a technical discussion that you have little knowledge of can cause you to make an off-topic point, which we all know how it is being frowned at on the forum.

They are not two different things. Coding is simply a part of programming. You can't write a program, design a website or any other software without coding. Coding is just writing code.
Whether it is Python, Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, they are all written with code, and each of these has its own code. The process of writing these programs is called coding.

I'm not a coder or programmer, but I see people into the field on the thread already replying with all the coding and programming technical terms and explanations. Maybe you want to reach out to them and say people talk about programming things. It's really nice to see a topic that's different from the usual that highlights people's tech skills is quite interesting.

I know you want to see more of your countrymen and women posting in the technical board of the forum, and I see nothing bad about it because you are encouraging us to take a bold step and learn how to navigate the technical board and contribute meaningfully there. Nigerians no dey carry last for something, but before you see that a lot of Nigerians are not posting in the technical board of the forum, just know that they might have tried to participate in the discussion going on in the technical board, but they might have found it difficult to function properly there, and that could be the reason why you see few Nigerians participating in the technical board. But because of this thread, I believe some Nigerians will challenge themselves and figure out how to participate on the technical board, so in the near future the number of Nigerians posting on the technical board will eventually increase.

In this space we have both the marketing aspect and the technical aspect too, so everyone have the part they are good at , some are good when comes to the technical part but you don’t need to be a programmer nor a coder to be good at bitcoin technical part is all about know how things works there and tbh is not easy at all because the technical part of bitcoin is really broad

But is still good to know those who are good at programming because I believe that most Naira youth are now focusing in tech stuff so am pretty sure that some people with such knowledge are here, you know is more easier to learn when you have folks with common goal , or same niche .

You go see am as lame say not much people dey technically inclined but if you check am, e no be like say there's a board for technical discussion for this we locale and even when someone raise up a topic, e no dey get much responses like when something of politics dey raised up so wetin you need to know nah most people no really dig talking about subjects wey look difficult since most times e dey dey boring and not as engaging as a mention earlier. Also, I no feel say you make your calculations right about the number of people wey dey technically inclined, because them dey. I dey see their doings for technical discussion but as e no be sub board for here, e go hard for them to bring am up.

Unless the discussion would be about general programing/Coding in crypto and not entirely focused on bitcoin as bitcoin itself don't support native smart contracts. As I understand, most of the things you can currently do with bitcoin is read-only since you can't deploy contracts to perform write operations too (this is only based on the technical side because sending a bitcoin transaction that causes a balance change is a write operation).

Just as many has said most beginners is not able to navigate the forum and striving with good result because of the information they got from the local board is technically inclined. I believe too well that if technical information is discussed locally just like other information we can do better when we get to the board I don't see our people are lazy neither are they running away if taking bold step on something the fear of not being hot by discussing where one has less information or idea is the major why many remain silent in the technical board I can assure you that if such discussion begin in our local board where good knowledge can be gather you will out people shaking the local board with good result naija no dey carry last for anything wey we put body.

Well for really long I haven't seen really technical talks on the local board anyways, are there any programmers or code writers here? Plus for those that may not understand, programming is actually different from coding and there are many reasons that depicts that actually. Nonetheless it mostly depends on the language you are most familiar with as some are not programming languages like HTML though it's one of the easiest not by being readable by a beginner but easy by syntax at least.
The difference between the two are fairly simple.
Coding is just writing a source code in a programming language e.g JavaScript, C++, Phyton, but it's more of an every-level person and without much experience.

A programmer on the other hand solves problems both complex and simple with the programming languages they know, they do this by writing source codes with source code editors, build/bundle and host it to be utilized by their clients.

There are still tech gurus in here, but the issue is that not all are Blockchain developers. Some are web developers, UI/UX e t.c although they can learn Blockchain technology and join in effectively, but time becomes a very necessary factor since most work full-time.

For me, I just understand few basics as regard bitcoin technicality and don't actually have much interest in learning more.
I am neither not a programmer or a coder. To my experience in this platform, there are less number of technical ideal users from the Nigerian local board who are focused and thrives on expatiating their obligations in the techniques of Bitcoin and it cryptography.

Most of us are just interested on utilizing the basic potential concepts of Bitcoin such as buying, hodling and selling (for incomes).
Maybe that is what the need to the creation of Bitcoin is mostly mattered about while engaged on the technical factors would enhance your ability and equates a solid credibility and trust on Bitcoin when understands the real mechanism behind the system.

Coding and programming are quite difficult skills to learn especially those that technically relates to bitcoin, that is why you see few members who are interested in technical discussion and also make posts in the technical board but that notwithstanding, it's not only our local board that have few members who do coding and programming languages. If you watch the technical discussion board, you will see that few members of the forum make posts there and besides, discussions there are very dry because most of the post there are basically questions that can get direct answers and the thread eventually goes dead. Apart from having the advantage of growing fast in the forum when you have technical knowledge, i don't see anything unique about coding and programming.
