Pope Francis Passes Away

Sad news came today as Pope Francis, the 266th leader of the Catholic Church, passed away.  He had been elected Pope back in 2013, taking over for Benedict XVI.  As the first Jesuit Pope the first one from Argentina and South America, and the first non-European Pope in centuries, Francis made history from the start.  

He will be remembered most for connecting with regular folks - being humble and caring about the poor, the forgotten, those pushed aside and  his constant message of love and community paved the way for the Church in todays world.  From early on, Francis spoke out for social justice, taking care of the environment, and bringing religions together.  He called out inequality capitalism that leaves people behind, and global systems that are unfair.  By frequently meeting impoverished communities and refugees, he was calling the world to humanity.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Pope Francis passing. It feels like we have lost not just a religious leader, but a truly compassionate soul. My thoughts are with all those who are grieving his loss.

As a Catholic and a person that stands for what the late Pope stood for I also mourn his passing away, I am glad that he lived a fullfilled life that made impact in the lives of many including none Catholics. He will be greatly missed especially for his humility, I pray that his soul rests in peace. I hope that the next Pope, can make as much impact in the lives of people as much as the legacy of the last Pope, that just passed on to greater glory. His passing on should be a reflexion to all of us that one day we will all die and leave this earth, we should live our lives so that we will be remembered for good things.

Condolences for the death of Pope Francis. As a leader in Roman Catholicism, he was a well-known and humble figure, not only for Catholics, but also for people of other religions. He was a reflection of a leader of the people who should be emulated. He cared and took part in world peace, especially in the Middle East. Even before his passing, he still had time to criticize Trump and JD, who he considered did not exemplify Christian values.

It's a sad news to hear about the sudden demise of the first citizen of Christianity all over the world, it is a pity as well that sickness is one of the most current means by which people die nowadays, which money, fame and power could not afford to evade.

But we are happy he lived a life worthy of emulation and the entire world realized his impact on the entire Christian race, we pray that may his gentle loving soul rest in peace, we are all going to miss his relevance and presence, we pray for unity among all the body of Christ to continue moving forward ever and backward never.

I was shocked to hear the bad news today on BBC news that Pope Francis has passed on. He is a father to all and preached love and equality to the world. I know that he was sick for a while now but I never expected him to die soon. The Catholics have missed their number one citizen in the church. Death is one aspect of life that is inevitable. No matter how much we don't wish for good people to leave the world, we can't prevent them from leaving when death comes knocking. Pope Francis was loved by many, especially for his approach to social issues like LGBTQ rights, even though some people frowned upon his support for such matters as a religious leader. He never discriminated against anyone and consistently encouraged everyone to treat others fairly and with respect. Even though I am not a Catholic, I greatly admire how he led the Church. Pope Francis truly made an unforgettable impact.

Of course, stroke is a killer cardiovascular disease that only few have survived, it blocks the flow of blood to the brain which is very deadly. I know that he was sick for a while now but I never expected him to die soon. The Catholics have missed their number one citizen in the church. I'm not shocked - after all he was 88 years old and his health was weak. But I didn't expected that he will pass away next day after Easter. When yesterday he came in public for Easter greetings, it was obviously visible that he is very weak.
Death is natural proccess, aprt of our life which is inevitable.

That is a good one. I think Francis was kind of a revolutionary in the Catholic Church and a 1000 % improvement on Ratzinger, which was known for not tackling perverts (if not being one) and discussing about matters of faith that nobody really cared about.

An Argentinian Pope, coming from the absolute trenches of the fight with poverty was the right thing to do to wash the image of the CRC and I hope that a similar decission is taken for the next one.

Is sad, I just realized why I have been saying a lot of people posting him, I thought it was just a normal kind of things people usually do in posting anybody they like online, however it seems he has been sick for a while now, stroke and heart failure is a two dangerous combination of sickness and surviving it always difficult except by the grace, however I think he should be 88 years now with a memorable journey he has, I don't no who will become the next one after him but definitely the next pop will also be a good leader for the Catholic as this one, however may his soul rest in perfect peace.

there are many of those who are not catholics or maybe do not particularly feel any connection to catholicism despite being technically catholic that mourns this loss he was more than a representation of catholicism he actually used his power and influence to do some good in the world i think even outside catholicism his principles are something we should respect and embody for as long as we live

That's exactly how I feel too. I was born Catholic, but, like many, I've had my own complex relationship with the Church over the years. However, even with all that, Pope Francis really stood out. His humble background, his unwavering voice against inequality, and that real, tangible effort to modernize, or at least open up the Church a little more. It felt like he was trying to bring it back on the right track and into the 21st century, and that took some courage, especially within such a historically rooted institution. He spoke to universal values, to human dignity, and to the need for compassion. Regardless of your beliefs, you had to respect his commitment to those principles.

Even from his last appearance he had on the media, he looked weak, and it was obvious that the sickness was catching up with him. incident as this should constantly remind us of one thing, and that is the fact that regardless of your status and how revered you are, the only way out of this life is through death. even for a man of his caliber, when sickness strikes, there is usually little to nothing you can do about it. though not a catholic and might not agree with some of his approach to modernizing some things as a catholic faithful, i do respect him a lot for all the things he represents and how he is not fearful to air them all out.

My favorite Pope was John Paul II because of his selflessness. He visited my country and showed so much love for the people of my country. I haven't followed the lifetime of Pope Francis since I left my parent's house, who were staunch Catholics. But it seems he was also outstanding. I kept on reading how Pope Francis was loved by the people because of his love for the downtrodden. I pray God grants him eternal rest. I don't know how it works, but it would be better if a younger Pope is elected so that they will have more time to impact the world.
