What happened to BRICS nations?
Since Trump came in I am yet to hear them convening for any meeting. Since Trump slammed Tariffs on most of them I don't see them having any meetings or talking about BRICs anymore.
It makes me to think that were they for real or they wanted to just cause some disruptions in the world market at the time they were talking about whatever they were going to do.
India is a BRICS member but I don't see them having any friendly chat with China with the reality of things.

Trump showed it to the world that he doesn’t like that which they’re creating and would take any action to retain the strength and power that the America government and its currency has over all of this nations objectives they’re trying to create. What Trump did was to also destabilize them and they don’t have time now to plan on the next action to take. If America should temper with their tariffs on China and China is retaliating back, it’ll affect all other nations including the BRICS nations too.

India has the idea of keeping its economy internal, partly as that lends more power to its own government over its people.   They are not on the international stage in the same way.  I heard Apple has the idea of switching production to India if China should prove a problem of any kind but the two countries are very different so I doubt any transition will be seamless.

Same too with this idea of BRICS, its an acronym invented by an investment bank not an alliance founded like the EU over generations post war etc.    These countries have no real close ties and to work together is far harder to do then say, they speak and meet many times but actual action making a difference as some trading block, with power on the international stage is to me quite unlikely in occurrence and certainly I dont expect it to last.   The problem is every country is different in some way if only by the distance and location they have in the world.     
  Nothing happened, they were never especially a cohesive force to begin with.   India will be important one day just by its sheer size and demographic growth with most of the country below the age of 30 they are nothing like old westernized countries.

I have always said that whatever the BRICS countries want to achieve will take years. Their de-dollarisation campaign was something that will take years. You don't persuade the world to shift from using the dollar in a couple of years, it's going to take a very long time.
Then when you look at their agenda, it not much different from that of the US, especially Cina and Russia. They just want what the US has.

I don't know how things will be in the future, but the dollar is going to be the dominating currency for a very long time because all the other proposed alternative currencies the BRICS countries brought weren't better than the dollar.

this should have been the best opportunity for brics to show how strong they can be but i didnt see some much retaliation against trump they could have stood their ground and shown a world where us dollar is not important

Yeah, it seems that the quietness is deafening isn't it? But maybe they are still convening secretly as the Trump policy might have affected them real hard as there are a shift and so they don't know how to response to the U.S. foreign policy and global trade dynamics.

But for sure they will have to come up with a better solution to counter everything, as far as I know, India tries to be just in the middle, while Russia continue it's tie to China and India. De-dollarisation campaign was obvious a failure for now.

You can't expect much from an economic bloc composed by few of the most corrupt nations in the world. BRICS isn't trying to create or develop anything new together and cooperatively, they are just trying to stand on the global scene against the opressive and imperialist USA. It's an ideological bloc which disseminates political propaganda. They don't even trust each other to launch a common currency, like EU did with Euro.

On the other hand, truth must be said: China is the most promising country from the bloc, which need only the raw materials of the other countries to develop technology.

which of course BRICS members must have discussed Trump's tariffs, but they were not broadcast by the media by conducting long-distance communication and it was very effective in discussing the trade tariffs. To avoid further escalation from Trump, and India prefers not to retaliate against their tariffs, they put more emphasis on negotiations, but other BRICS members have determined the choice for them to take in responding to the trade tariffs.

It looks like the tariffs are affecting each one of them that they prefer focusing on their problem first before doing any meetings.

I don't know about Iran, and Russia, but China retaliated with their own tariffs, while Russia isn't doing anything significant aside from the ceasefire between them and Ukraine while India on the other hand is having some plans with the US already. I don't want to say that the BRICS is slowly crumbling just because of one person, but it seems like that's what's happening right now.

Anyway, their plan of de-dollarization will take decades before it happens, and we don't even know if it will be a successful plan. We don't even know if they're planning something that we don't even know. One thing's for sure though. The tariffs that US has imposed is affecting them in different ways.

In the current economic war between the United States and China, each country that experiences an increase in tariffs will try to think of a way to get out of the pressure. BRICS is here to create convenience for the countries that join it, but this has not been optimal because when the economic war occurs for the two big countries, the problems are even more difficult to solve.

The increase in tariffs has quite an impact on the economic growth of each country and maybe for BRICS members it is better to be realistic in the current conditions because if they interfere in a big war like this, it will create new problems and maybe that is why there has been no special meeting for BRICS members to address the current problems.

Probably they are focusing on reducing US' tariff imposed to them, interacting with other BRICS country might in some way amplify the tariff imposed to them .
So currently they just focused on themselves and their bilateral relation with the US.

There are still many meetings among BRICS members and this group is moving forward strongly. Just because the media doesn't go bananas over each BRICS move doesn't mean they are not happening.

For example in the recent summit there were a lot of discussions on the agricultural topic (food security for member states). And there is still countries that request to join. I believe Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, ... were the latest ones.

In fact Trump Tariffs strengthened BRICS as it isolated US and forced countries to join such power blocs to protect themselves.

India is in a sense like Turkey. They think by playing all sides they can advance in the world. This is why India is a member of every cooperation out there and is not truly benefiting from any.

The 17th BRICS Summit will hold from 6–7 July 2025, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This meeting will be very important because it is now time to be actively committed to the organization's focus to form a strong and united economic bloc. The tarrif by Trump should be a wake-up call for nations that are sitting on the fence. Atleast they have known that the US now has a new agenda which is focused on enriching the US and improvishing others. This  summit in July is timely and I expect it to not just be for policy statements but for action.

what if i told you that although media show that BRIC only came about in 2006 and had first summit in 2009

but
in 2001 it was goldman sachs that first wrote and published a paper suggesting that if the 4 economic regions of brazil, rusia, india, china got together, they could over power the american superpower (goldman first coined the word bric.. before the 4 regions even got talking to each other)

it was also goldman sachs that inspired investment groups to create ETF indexes of investments that linked those 4 regions and cultivate a economic measure of their combined performance.(formed the first bric based investments)
and then it was goldman sachs that published more papers about if the regions did come together as a group and done some strategies...
.. in essence goldman sachs produced the brand, roadmap, policy guide, which those 4 regions then used to become bric (now brics)

basically china's president Xi and russia's president Putin took goldmans hypothesis and put it into practice
with that said. as of this year
china's president went on a eastern world tour trying to cement relationships. china are not ready to come to trumps tariff negotiation table until it has cemented those relationships first. which even upto this last week Xi has been racing around on his plane going country to country trying to cement brics relationships and also adopt more countries in the ASEAN region into the brics fold..

some of those countries agree some dont. .. things are moving fast this month, picking sides

Regardless, they are still together but has not held any meeting yet after the tariffs war of Trump on some of the nation, just like you observed. But their next meeting which is the 17th summit is scheduled to hold on July 6–7, 2025.

Arrival of Donald Trump had big impact on world economy with BRICS was trying to have few things for their own interest, but tariff hits them badly now all are tying to manage things on different way while China and India has never been good coalition, but Russia presence give them some confidence.
Next summit which is going to hold in Río de Janeiro is important because now they need to work on some solid things which give them benefits currently lack of confidence and solid strategy hurting them badly I am not positive about their future as this organization is also going like many around without having anything positive for regions and countries.
India and China big players while Russia and Brazil are also good they can do but how its also important China is now standing tough again USA, but India will never do like them because they have their own way of dealing things on both sides.

If Trump really implement the new tariffs and it those countries who're affected feel no longer profitable to sell their products to US, BRICS nations might try to make them stronger by sell their products to BRICS nations and launch their own currency.

Who cares about tariffs when they no longer care with US, but for now they're still watching.

I think BRICS will be excellent development on the global market because it will change the economy of World. US is hurting many countries which are good countries but US want to be king in the World and it don't want any country away from that country . Many people are thinking that US will be dominant forever but there will be huge change in the technology and development but it will take time . China is big country of the world according to population and that is reason India is jealous with china because Chinese people are hard working people and they will get high economic status on the World Map.There are many countries which want to be part of BRICS system but there are many issues on International level and we are facing no progress in this concept.

from what i see BRICS is actually not like an alliance like the european union which can unite voices and one solution to one issue. they can only agree on important points, such as dedollarization, economic cooperation, etc., but on this tariff issue, most countries prefer diplomacy with the US directly and do not raise it at their meetings.

because of some BRICS members, there are some who do not do confrontation like what China did, for example indonesia or india, they prefer diplomacy and do not take retaliatory action against what trump did to them. because they are still thinking about their trade balance with the US and the potential for investment and trade cooperation with the US that can help their economy.

BRICS can only rant when Trump wasn't in power. Tump came onboard and shut their mouth and tried to distabilized their economy with increase Tariff rate. China who is the main power house of BRICS is getting it hot and her economy is suffering with their currency been depreciated. BRICS nations are thinking on how to survive the increase in tariff so that it will have little effects on their economy.
