See the SOL/ETH chart it's already crushing ETH since a long time ago, the chart literally just go straight up meaning ETH just keep losing without any proper correction.

If this keeps up, sure SOL will eventually kill ETH, after all ETH is like obsolete tech, people were praising ETH for the cheap fee few days ago and now with just one small airdrop claim like dolomite fee already going up to 15 gwei again it's silly.
Really hoping SOL can crush ETH even further here.

I feel the same way. Whenever the Ethereum pumps the price, They sell and cause a dump. If this continues, it won’t be easy for Ethereum to reach a good price. Even new projects will think twice before choosing the Ethereum chain.

On the other hand, Solana has gone through tough times but the Solana team has remained loyal. They are actively working for the future growth of Solana. As a result, even after a massive amount of Solana got unlocked, The price still managed to recover. If Solana keeps recovering like this, It can easily reach $200+.

In conclusion, Solana might actually become the Ethereum killer. If the Ethereum team doesn’t stop their sell-offs, the future doesn’t look too good for them.

I don't think SOL can killer ETH in the near future, but in the long run, I believe it can. For now, the comparison of ecosystems that stand on Solana is becoming larger and Ethereum is slowly being abandoned by its community. The simple reason is that Solana has cheaper network fees and so many new projects are choosing to stand on the Solana network to gain a larger community.

That way, there is a greater chance of SOL having a higher price in the next bullish season and being more expensive than ATH this season.

That's why you better be more realistic since people will continue to invest on Ethereum and same with other thing they would just think about SOL is another alternative coin to invest or used.

ETH is already well established with many people support it and even this is been considered as strong altcoin next to Bitcoin. So any ambition like killing its fame won't provably happen and people thinking about that will just fail especially if they really expect that to happen.

Aren't you people get tired of always looking for some ETH killer narrative? This has been in the talks for so long and I think people should stopped looking at that factor. Each project has their own ways of making investors believe into them and become loyal. I know that most of the SOL holders would likely agree to you and even I as an ETH holder would say that it might be replaced soon. But like right now, you want it to happen in the near future for which I don't think it likely will. People need to move on and focus with their ventures or whichever coins you're holding because it makes no sense that it's said that this and those coins are going to be an ETH killer just because the price bumped.

Solana is already beginning to build a rather strong history too, so it becomes more likely to turn into an Ethereum competitor in time.  Only because Ethereum has not lost its spot yet does not mean much.  It can be de troned at any time, given the right Altcoin and the right number of investments in its future.

It would have made sense to say this during a period where SOL has increased more than everything else. But during a time when all altcoins are going up and everything is going up, I am not sure how real this could be considered, we are not looking into this as a self thing, it is not really that big of a deal.

I understand how this could eb considered weird and difficult and different, but it is what it is and that is why we can't really consider this any different or difficult at all. We have to learn that SOL has increased as much as ETH during the same period, so how could it kill the thing that it intends to kill while going up the same amount. Like they both went up 12%, if SOL went up 20%+ but ETH went up only 12% then I would have understand.

Solana is fast and cheap and I'm a happy user of their chain even though it breaks under intense load but ethereum built Defi and most of the web3 infrastructure that we use today. The space is big enough for both chains to shine even though solana has to do so from #3-#6 position.

Like it or not, this is a challenge for Ethereum which continues to be eroded by their own L2. Gradually Solana clearly has the opportunity to overtake. In general Vitalik now wants to migrate from EVM to RISC-V, to be honest I don't know much about coding, but this implies that he shows a fatal error in the Ethereum development system. I still remember the owner of Cardona predicting that Ethereum will be extinct in less than 15 years. Look now L2 developers are competing with each other, feeling the most right, feeling the most able to overcome scalability and wanting to continue to be noticed by Vitalik. Ethereum is currently following in the footsteps of Blackberry in the past which led it to a situation of extinction.

Just need to wait a little until all the defi come up in solana, I've seen plenty starting from RWA to payfi and so on, seems like they gonna be a good contender against current ethereum's defi ecosystem which locks billions worth of USD on chain.

Sooner or later these whales will rotate to solana since the APY is quite high as well in most of solana's defi.
I can see that happening very soon.

Not for short term, but definitely yes in long term. If you're seeing SOL's movement against ethereum. It's obviously telling you how sol is overperforming ethereum now. It's also surpassing ethereum's onchain TVL.

No saying ethereum can be surpassed in short term, but i believe SOL can do that in long term.

There are so many metrics that already told us about SOL may be continuously overperforming ethereum in long term.

Well it doesn’t take a lot to be an Ethereum killer these days. Sadly Ethereum has been a really poor performer this year, we are down to prices below 2021 highs. Hopefully it recovers but Solana is cheaper & more popular with memecoins etc. I definitely think Solana is a better buy at the moment with much higher potential returns.

I wouldn't call it the ETH killer but it's obvious that ETH investors have shifted their focus on other altcoin and that include SOL. I say that because the price of ETH is still way back from it's previous all time high, still -60% if I'm not mistaken. As compare to SOL who just have it's all time high this January and the price still looks very strong. So it make sense for investors to shift their focus on SOL right now and forget about ETH. Maybe we can all have our speculation on why ETH suddenly goes down, as we all know that they have change their consensus and it's really decentralized as compare to when they are still in POW. Bad decision that leads to the current state of their market and then the emergence of other altcoins that challenge it's supremacy.

Well, I don't know and I'm not an Ethereum maxi. Also, as someone that has been burnt more often than not by Ethereum, I don't really care much for it.

However, the only way I see solana surpassing ETH in the long term is if Ethereum don't eventually scale as intended–if L2s meta die off and they don't scale the L1. Also, if Ethereum doesn't change how they handle their community right now. I have been in solana and their community is welcoming and one of the best right now especially with the superteam initiative they have going.

Ethereum's current fully diluted valuation is remnant of the past glory where ethereum just absolutely dominates the altcoin market because there's no better altcoin but we've seen many altcoins coming up with better speed and building better ecosystem.
While other chain is trying to build and become the next biggest altcoin by market cap, ethereum just sitting there doing nothing and I agree, doesn't take much to be ethereum killer.

The fact that bitcoin is making great recovery again while ethereum still around $1800 is both disturbing and reflect the state of ethereum in my honest opinion, you don't see this kind of thing play out with other top coin like solana and sui.
It just doesn't make sense at all despite the total supply of ethereum that's just growing slowly.

I would simply say NO, the SOL would not be the Ethereum Killer. I know that Ethereum hasn't been performing all that well but then if you see the fundamentals of both ETH and SOL, you would know that ETH is more decentralized and a lot of tokens are build on ETH as compared to the SOL. SOL has been performing all that well only because there are a lot of meme coins being built on SOL and traders (or i would call gamblers) would invest in those coins thinking of getting some nice quick profits. Remember Trump also chose the SOL chain to launch his meme coin.

However, even with all these developments, it would not be easy for the SOL to overcome ETH in terms of marketcap and technology.

Sol is really exhibiting strong moves again. Dex volumes rising up is a huge evidence that the network activity is real, Ai meta coming back will force even more buzz into the ecosystem. Memecoins usually provide fresh liquidity and SOL appears to benefit a lot from it, I feel like SOL has stronger momentum right now than ETH for sure but ETH has a large lead in usage and security, Maybe SOL can challenge it more seriously this cycle if it keeps up It is getting intriguing to watch for sure.

Well I do hodl those tokens in my portfolio. But for me I am more 'bullish' on Solana then Ethereum making me more profit in this year.
They been saying Solana is the Ethereum killer but I do not know if this is so true. We can not forget it Ethereum does require a proof of stake. And Solana does require a proof of history and a proof of work.
