Someone from my local board shared an experience he had with P2P traders in Bybit where he sold his coin and the buyer sent him below the original cost of his coin and he refused to release coin and he wrote to the buyer telling him to send his complete money or else he won't release coin and that was when the buyer sent him his complete money, this his experience he shared made me more attentive to everything when trading in Bybit P2P, when same thing happened to me in the P2P trading in Bybit it was easy for me to identify and handle because of the experience shared in my local board.

Scams are everywhere but their methods are similar and there are enough education, warning against scam. People who are carefully will pay more attention on reading and preparing their knowledge against scams. People who are careless but have enough greediness will be more easily to be scammed.

That's true, the scam accusations board is there for people to go see and read many stories of scam attempts so they could get an idea of how scams work, and to also be able to decipher scams from real, and to know what to do immediately if they encounter any such scam. Back in ~2019-2021, I used to report tons of scams in the ANN board of this forum. During that time, there were tons of projects that depict themselves to be genuine but a closer inspection reveals dozens of problems, such as:

• Plagiarized Whitepapers;
• Fake or AI-generated Team Members;
• Ponzi Schemes;
• Copy-pasted website; and
• Newly registered website with questionable contents.

Those are some of the usual projects that I observed to be a scam. Unfortunately with the emergence of AI, finding fake projects under the ANN Board became significantly difficult especially for Whitepapers. Tons of AI-generated whitepapers have been circulating and it is not easy to look for them without investing hours of reading.

I remember a time when I shared my experience on Kucoin with my local board members in altcoinstalks about how I was almost scammed if not for the fact that I was observant enough to have spotted the difference in price.

So basically, what happened was that the merchant used XX amount for their ads and when you click on it to sell to them the  price of the USDT will change to XY which is lower than the original price and for some reason unknown to me Kucoin doesn’t tell you about this change and allows the user to continue with the transaction and if you’re not observant enough you’ll sell with that reduced price which would result in loss of money for you.

People share their experiences all the time, but do people actually read these stories? If they read it, do they really remember the stories to learn from them? There are lots of persons who, although they may not like to admit it, do not learn from people's experiences. They learn better from theirs. This is not a good category to belong to, especially as it involves money and investments, because the depression from being scammed and losing a really big amount can take a really long time to heal from.

It's better to have sharing information about what happened, scams already occured so that community can have more information about those scams. It's helpful for people knowing about scam methods then having better knowledge and ability to avoid those scams.

It's only helpful somewhat because at the end, each person has to practice on his side and be scammed or not, it's up to his own practice. Some people can ignorre many things, warnings and be scammed only because he is not careful enough but is too greedy and see scams as good opportunities to get rich quick. Such people have to learn about scams by their own experience and pay cost by themselves too.

Unfortunately, the culture of sharing experiences isn't popular among users, especially those affected by crypto scams. One thing I've learnt about scams and falling victim to it is that when you're in serious haste to get things done, it's usually easy for you to fall victim to scam. Most times, it's usually over familiarity, lack of proper knowledge and impatience to verifying the trust history of the person you're dealing with that mostly leads to victim getting scammed. From P2P scams to the normal scam, they are all tied down to the fact that any form of slight negligence can result to victim getting scammed.

From a personal point of view, it's usually better to trade with caution while carrying out any form of transaction that requires using finance or sharing your personal details with a site or a third party. Even though you can't be careful enough, but doing the basics can save you from at least 50% of potential scam.

There's a lot of threads right here sharing their experience first hand or second hand so people are aware with the possible scams, and attacks that might risk to their funds.

If the transaction happens on the exchange you can easily report those incident on their support and they will take an action they will block the seller/buyer accounts or freeze their funds. Base on my experience in Binance if you are trying to sell, you need to send the funds into their wallet,t and they will release the payment, which seems to be the same happen here, or did I miss something?.

Yeah, it helps. Unfortunately, people do not learn from others' mistakes. They make mistakes themselves, and sometimes, they learn, and sometimes, they don't even learn from their own mistakes. I have been on the forum for years and have seen a lot of scam accusations, yet I have fallen for scams. Sometimes scammers manage to trick our minds, and they win.

Many people get scammed just because they do not pay enough attention. I was scammed because I was too lazy to verify. I became a little more careful since then and I hope everyone else will be careful.

Avoid strangers.

Scammers hunt for attention through social media and texting apps like Telegram, avoid strangers at all cost, none of them have a good agenda sending you messages.

Don't click on links sent to you through email.

Scammers are still targeting emails sending them bad links waiting on the other side to hijack your data and other sensitive informations including taking over your email account.

Don't be greedy.

The most crazy part that scammers trapped their victims with is using greed, everyone is greedy today, the level is very high and people don't care anymore, my advice is don't seek for freebies where you don't work, don't try to claim money or prizes that you don't work for.

Many schemes to scams and scamming as we have it has been flagged and publicly exposed because, it’s the same people in the society that are at the receiving end of these actions. This forum is a good place to learn about scams and the latest tactics of scammers especially in cryptocurrency, this beginners and help board is very helpful, also the scam accusation board. The rate of scams is on the increase and there is a serious need for people who have had experiences to share it so that other people will learn and beware. The latest scams in my country is Ponzi schemes, I have noticed that a lot of investment platforms are scamming greedy people, they will promise profits on investments on a very short term and people will use all their money to invest, in the end they will be scammed. Let us beware of get rich quick schemes all of them are scams as far as I know.

But this is one of the most basic scams ever.  You are offered something, you are scammed for a little amount and then you keep getting scammed more and more until you run out of funds and give up, the final amount lost being at the end way higher than planned.  This works because it is not hard to emotionally manipulate the victim into hoping they would get their money back if they send only a little bit more.  The trade was for 1000 Dollars, you sent 20 to the scammer.  Will you send 20 more if you are promised the full trade still happens?  If you do, will you then risk only 10 more for 1000?

Instinct and common sense.  We all have it, it is only required that the trader uses it!
