Recently, I came across a popular Bitcoin blogger, someone with big following confidently telling his followers that Bitcoin will crash to $10,000. He tweeted this with no proof or analysis.

This is exactly the kind of misinformation that we see these days. And sadly, many new or inexperienced users fall for it.

Price prediction is different from the crypto information the OP is referring to here; the information the forum is referring to is legit information about possible scams and how to prevent them, how to go about something related to crypto especially wallets, keys and address and so on; if you are misinformed about all these, your crypto assets will not be safe because you might save your coins in the wrong wallet due to lack of proper information.

Furthermore, Bitcoin market is very volatile, you can’t expect perfect prediction by all the forum members because they don’t have control over the crypto market, they are just speculating based on experience, and if turns out to be true, then they take the credit, but the speculators should not be criticized if they don’t get it right.

You are right, information we get from the forum is not perfect since members shares different views and opinion on their understanding about bitcoin. Despite that sometimes, we can be satisfied with the information we get from the forum but it is better to also do our own research and not only be reliant or overdependent on what we hear in the forum. The forum is trusted for sure, but we still have to cautious of some information we get here because some of them can also be misleading.

Try making more studies on Bitcoin before making conclusions. There is what we call realistic predictions and idealistic predictions. What i understood from the OP is that the possibility of Bitcoin going down to 10k does not sound realistic it's almost never going to happen. For a big influencer to have predicted such thing to happen only prove that he is trying to attract more engagement to himself on the social media.

Again, for him to be so certain about the price going to $10k is also misleading. Imagine you are his follower who just bought your first Bitcoin you might be pushed to sell off because you believe in him so much and whatever he says or does is what you will do.

I would say that most of the Bitcoin pioneers are in one way or the other here with us, so it is very hard that a wrong information will come up here and won’t be filtered out  by top members of the forum that are well informed of bitcoin from inception or members with factual information about that which is shared to mislead.

It makes it hard to be a zone for scammers and misinformation. Its credibility is second to none when it comes to bitcoin knowledge as far as I know. It remains a more serene environment for bitcoin enthusiasts to thrive in and share quality informations in also.

You are right. we have very little misinformation on this forum. we do not provide information on speculation, but if it is provided, it is supported by evidence to support its accuracy. even if you do not get 100% information about Bitcoin on this forum, you will get 90% of the information that is correct about Bitcoin. However, from my perspective, we should give more importance to research because knowing 100% truth about a topic will help us to be aware of it and help others to be aware of it, so it is more important to do our own research.

Well I think that was a speculation I mean that is what the person feel is going to happen to Bitcoin not like he or she is sure or certain about it and whenever one see those kind of statement or sentence if it is against what you feel or believe the best thing to do is to scroll or leave the post before you get entice, every human have different way they think or see Bitcoin as and at one point or the other everyone has a speculation or use to speculate what will be the next price of Bitcoin so is not something big. Remember, it is people that choose to be deceived or confused.

The truth is that this forum is a very effective platform who whoever wishes to invest in bitcoin. Some of us who have had the knowledge of bitcoin for long without investing in it all did that due to various reasons ranging from fear of loosing assets and lack of proper knowledge about bitcoin as a digital currency. Bitcointalk forum contains almost every knowledge that can make you a better investor.

Naija Local board on its own brought the bitcoin information down to our local Nigeria settings and sometimes explain facts with Nigerian terms which allows you to understand better. This forum should be a first step for everyone who has interests in starting a bitcoin accumulation. Having the right information is what anyone needs to survive in bitcoin investment and that information is well provided here.

Though some information can be deceitful especially when the poster is not yet very informed but the good thing is that it is usually open for criticism and counter opinions.

Truth be told bitcoin forum is well organized, decipline, educational and reliable in aspects of accurate information.

Ever since I joined the forum I know how far have gone in the knowledge of bitcoin affairs, the forum has done so much for humanity. Information shared on this forum is atleast 85 to 90% sure or authentic, you can not be on this forum and still be lost, the forum put you updated every 24 /7.

Nah, I didn't know about Bitcoin prior. I only heard of TBC from a friend via word of mouth. The perceived value seemed really interesting considering he said it was worth over 6 BTC.  I can't find the exact thread I started researching about it but it was similar to this one: https://www.nairaland.com/3533865/billion-coin-tbc-scam-real

One of those google search led me to the forum where I learnt that TBC coin was a derived coin and a scam at best. I also got to learn about Bitcoin from the same thread and I stayed afterwards.

how has the forum impacted your experience as a crypto person since 2016 till date?

I will try to keep this as short as possible.

• Shaped my investment and research skills - one of my first investments were to invest on some ICOs with open participation. Where did I see ICOs I could participate in? this forum of-course. Overtime, I realized how important it is to do adequate research and being picky with investments. That's why I didn't invest in ponzi schemes and other sketchy invesment schemes afterwards.
• Learning from veterans: There is always more to learn on the forum and I had the opportunity to learn from the posts and threads of veteran users- both old and new.

There's probably more but I will end it here for now.
