I would say that a true gambler is one who enters the game aware of the risks, yes, but without giving in to defeat prematurely. He plays to win, even knowing that he can lose. When the focus is only on controlling defeat, perhaps it ceases to be a game; it becomes calculation, not courage. The essence of a true gambler is to take risks, not just protect oneself.
Indeed, a true gambler doesn't give in to defeat but he accepts them and finds a way to readjust his methods instead of chasing instantly. A true gambler is always ready to take risks and open to whatever outcomes that they get from gambling unlike those that just gamble expecting that they will always make profit, these are the type of gamblers that ends up getting addicted to it because of their unrealistic expectations. I think if you ask 10 different people who a true gambler really is, you’d receive almost 10 different answers, different people have different perspectives and for me, I think a true gambler is one who acknowledges the fact that they can’t win always and so they don’t try to, they are gamblers that know that the odds are always against them and so they don’t try to overdo anything when they gamble. They gamble within their means and when they feel like chasing losses, they quickly realize that it’s the best time to take a step back instead of heeding to their emotions.

For me a real gambler is when they can control their gambling activities, meaning only gambling with a little money, not making winning a top priority, the point is that knows about how to treat gambling properly and correctly, because if for example you are a real gambler then you should know and be able to distinguish about what is good and what is bad that should be avoided, real gamblers are those who can control gambling and not those who are controlled by gambling, it should be like that.

I think professional gamblers always play consistently by following the right rules. The gambler manages gambling by setting time and money, and gambling with all the money they can afford to lose, setting aside all the necessary money in advance, so that they can handle themselves in any situation. When gambling regardless of the outcome they take time out and then start gambling again and keep their emotions in check in any situation and limit themselves to their means in any situation. When gambling, an real gambler consistently follows all these rules.

I have a different version of who the real gambler is and unfortunately is not as good as the one you are describing here. For me the true gamblers are those who play with a lot of money, are heavily involved and they feel what they are doing, best example of this are the streamers on different streaming platforms together with people that deposit a lot of money, this is the true definition of gambling for the simple reason that if you look gambling in dictionary it says "dare to be bold and challenge your fortune" something of this sort and people who play little money are not challenging anything, they are just having some fun. Gambling maybe has been created for people to have fun but the biggest fun has always been when people have hit jackpots and not when they have won 100 dollars on a Saturday night.

A professional always has a plan and a strategy for the game. You are right in saying that he has a certain budget for the game he is going to play. I knew one poker player who thought like a chess player and always prepared himself by playing with others before sitting down to play with the professionals. And he always accepted defeat with dignity.

Over time, what began as a solid, promising plan can fall apart simply because the drive for excess overtook the original vision.
And that's losing control, something regrettable, so as we take more discipline with the game we must maintain it and not fall into possible temptations that are almost always there, it's not fair to throw away so much discipline in a short time or in a few plays, if we already have established control we must maintain that security and skill always.

I concur with this point of view. The character of a real gambler is one of discipline rather than winning and winning. Being careful with bankroll and establishing a strict limit of time and money, as well as gambling on what can be lost is a necessary quality. It is also important to have emotional control particularly following a win or loss. Going on a break when it is due and coming back with a clear mind is an indication of maturity. To me, the real Gambler is one that is consistent, has self control and makes responsible choices.

Being a true gambler is not about taking risks but about playing in an organized and disciplined way. Being able to manage time and money, gambling only what they can afford to lose, and restraining emotions is what makes the difference between a professional gambler and an amateur one. It is a constant adherence to these rules, timely taking breaks and staying within his or her means that makes one a true, a responsible gambler.

Agree with this a true gambler maybe i can say a experience gambler know when to stop, or know when they can't win at that moment and he go home winning or losing he knows that the situation will not change and might lose more or his winning might disappear, if he don't stop, that for me is a true gambler, if a gambler keeps going even losing, i consider him an addicted person to gambling, and those type of people will lose everything in promise, that is why there are lots of people who take their lives, sometimes sold everything.

I mean, no matter how responsible you are in terms of gambling, the risks is all about it. And when we say "true" gambler, that means it's the people who gamble using a currency that has real value in the society. What you have described above is kind of a responsible gambler, and that right there is a true gambler. On the other end, those who can't control their gambling habits are compulsive gamblers or worse a gambling addict. They might sound the same, but I think there's a fine line between a compulsive and addicted gambler, and again, they are also a true gambler.

Discipline is the key of a real gambler, and not to be a reckless risk taker. Experience teaches when to give up, whether victory or defeat and that is what secures profits and peace of mind. Being aware of the fact that the situation is not going to change overnight will make a gambler walk away at the appropriate time. Self control is what is in between a responsible and an addicted gambler. Seeking to recoup the losses or not willing to give up when they are ahead is usually a ruin. Gambling must be a controlled form of entertainment rather than an emotional release and desperation based habit to remain in balance in the long run.
