How many of us knows about the story of the Saudi Arabian prince Al-Waleed bin who has been popularly known as the sleeping Prince due to his battling of life in the coma since 2005 as a cause of accident? Today marks his 36 birthday and it really feels so emotional to imagine someone living unconsciously for about 2 decades now without being recovered and not even a sign of improvement.
My sincere sympathy goes to his parents especially the father who could not afford to let go off him. I also wish the prince a divine recovery following the faith of his dad that he'll recover somedays.

I read about this sleeping prince a few days ago on Facebook, and different emotions have flooded my mind. If this prince had died back then, he would have been at peace, and the family and friends he left behind might also have found peace.

What if he wakes up and finds himself in a vegetative state for the rest of his life, will he be happy to be alive? I am certain his family wouldn't be happy either.

What if he wakes up and can no longer recognize anyone?

Twenty years is a very long time for anyone to be in a coma. I read that medical practitioners have suggested discontinuing life support, but the family won’t agree to it. The family should let him rest so that everyone can move on.

His parents are expecting a miracle since they have been advised by medical professionals to let him go. Letting such a very handsome son die will be very painful. It is also possible that Al-Waleed bin is well-behaved, which is why his father wants him back to life. If keeping him in a coma gives his parents fulfilment, and they can afford to pay the medical bills, that's good. But I would have suggested they let him go because seeing my son in such a condition could be more painful. Maybe his parents would have recovered from the shock of losing if he had been allowed to die years ago. But like I said before, it's their choice and they can also afford it. I wish him a miraculous recovery.

Today marks his 36 birthday and it really feels so emotional to imagine someone living unconsciously for about 2 decades now without being recovered and not even a sign of improvement.

I only came across the news two days ago when he was celebrating his birthday. I just imagine what he must have gone through out this years without being able to do anything or know anything that is happening around him. That means he can’t be able to remember anything if miraculously he gets conscious again. I feel pity for him and his parents, situations like this are what we should always pray against and never deny any favor we have today from the Almighty, (which of his favors can we deny?); definitely none. I wish the crown prince a quick recovery and it has been a battle for long and I pray he becomes victorious in the end.

His parents are expecting a miracle since they have been advised by medical professionals to let him go. Letting such a very handsome son die will be very painful. It is also possible that Al-Waleed bin is well-behaved, which is why his father wants him back to life. Maybe his parents would have recovered from the shock of losing if he had been allowed to die years ago. But like I said before, it's their choice and they can also afford it. I wish him a miraculous recovery.

When you have the money to cater for your family and with that money you can have them live for several years, I don’t think you will ever have a second thought of not allowing them to stay alive till they depart from the world naturally. The pin of allowing him to die when they can afford to fend for his medical bills will be more painful and that will be a pain induced in their heart for the rest of their lives. They can afford to keep him alive and that’s the best thing they can for the child as a parent, I wish the prince a miraculous recovery. I would have done the same if I was the parents too.

Death does not care how handsome we are. For a long time now the sleeping prince would have been dead if there wasn't enough money to keep him alive up till now. It is truly heartbreaking to see his family face such a depressing situation. I can only imagine the emotional with it has pulled upon the entire family members to see their son remain in such a condition for a long time with no assurance of recovery. At the same time, i believe it is okay to feel that letting go might bring him peace and save the family of the emotional torture. If that is not an option, then whatever form let healing or a miracle happen or at some point they can't continue seeing him suffer like that no matter the money he has.

And I've no ideal of the other sleeping Prince you've just talked about. I think what actually triggered the title "sleeping Prince" is the course that his hearts beats while he lyes like lifeless with his eyes closed just like when we're asleep.
Literally there's no promising that he'll recover despites the application of live supporting technology. All hope of his recovery just hopeful with faith.

I got to know about this sleeping prince from a news site some days back, I didn't know that somebody can be in coma for up to two decades, it must be costing his family some fortunes to foot the medical bills. I also sympathize with his family for the pains that they must be passing through to be watching him in that situation year after year without any miracle for him to come out of his coma. I wonder for how long he will continue to be in that condition, he doesn't know what is happening but his family will continue to be in hope. We can't wish him death so I pray that he wakes up one day, if he can't, let him rest in peace so that his family can have peace and move on.

I saw the story on Instagram and read the comments, both negative and positive. I had two conflicting thoughts in my head. Some people suggested he's dead, but his family loves him so much and has the money to keep him alive, hoping he'll wake up.

My first thought was, if he's says he's  alive means his brain cells are still active. Even if it's a small part of his brain cells being active means he's technically alive, and there's a chance of recovery. This might be why his family has kept him for two decades, especially since they mentioned a time when he was recovering and could move his fingers.

My other though was, if he's actually dead, have the doctors confirmed it to his family, or are they just holding onto hope. But if his family is choosing to hold onto hope, it's not bad, miracles still happen.

This story really got me thinking. It's a reminder to appreciate our lives and opportunities. Someone has been in a coma for two decades, and he'd probably wish to be okay and not burden his family. It was a moment of gratitude for me, a reminder to appreciate where I am and work hard for a better future.

I never knew about this prince before until I saw the news of his birthday anniversary and I decided to do a little research about him and that was when I discovered he got an accident and has been on comma for a very long time now and that is very bad when I was reading the story I felt so bad for him and the family, his recovering will only take the grace of God because is been long now and I most commend the father for not giving up on him the father truly loves his son and his supporting him to make sure he recovers and for doing this for many years shows he truly loves his son.
I pray he recovers one day and get back on his feet.

Some father's won't stand this long by there son especially when they have other son's that will take over from them when they are no more, this story should help us to love and stand by our children always.

Twenty years is a very long time for anyone to be in a coma. I read that medical practitioners have suggested discontinuing life support, but the family won’t agree to it. The family should let him rest so that everyone can move on.

It's faith in their religion and for the love of their son. The hardest thing for a parent is to lay their child in their grave; it's the hardest feeling in the world. There are a lot of ifs if they allow the life support to be taken out, and they are not yet ready.

I believe they will do so when they are ready; they still want to see their son and still hope for a miracle, so the decision lies with the prince's parents, and hopefully, he will come out of the coma and be normal. Miracles do happen.

Keeping Prince Al-Waleed is the priority of his billionaire father Prince Khaled bin Talal. I think so because there are some billionaires who would have decided to take him out of life support. It will only take a miracle for someone who is brain dead to come out of coma. Some people wouldn't want to see their son in such a vegetable state, so they might want to discontinue the process for keeping him alive.

I saw the story on Instagram and read the comments, both negative and positive. I had two conflicting thoughts in my head. Some people suggested he's dead, but his family loves him so much and has the money to keep him alive, hoping he'll wake up.

He's a beloved son of his family which his long time being in the coma has proven how much his parents loves him and couldn't afford to withdraw from their miraculous expectations that he'll wake up and they'd not stop showing their concerns for him despites the expenses that's like no avail even after while being 2 cades on the coma.
How can one die and be brought back to life just by money? I believe his parents aren't the richest in the world and most richest persons in the history of life have died and their money couldn't bring them back to life. So, scrap those critics saying to believe money can return the dead back as the saying on the comment section based on the news you read online about this sleeping Prince.
He's unconscious and not dead. Note it and when he finally dies somedays, how parents will make it know and though, although he's still on the surface of the earth under the coma due to the riches of his parents because less than average person's can't afford such sustainability for a long time.

If a miracle can happen, that's what will be in the mind of everyone for Saudi Arabian Prince Al-Waleed bin to be active the way he was two decades ago. I really commend the families for not giving up on their son yet for twenty years of staying in a coma. If money can actually buy life, I believe they would have done that long ago, to buy life for their son so that he would keep enjoying his youth as a prince.

However, this incident should serve as a lesson to us all that money can't buy life cause if it does, the family of the prince would have done that. Another lesson is that it's our family that we all have when others leave. We should treat them with respect because they will always be the ones to have our back in both the good times and bad times

I also wish the prince a divine recovery following the faith of his dad that he'll recover somedays.
https://trembuz.com.ng/saudi-arabias-sleeping-prince-al-waleed-bin-khaled-marks-36th-birthday-after-nearly-two-decades-in-coma/?amp=1
I have known about the story of the sleeping Prince long time ago but I do not know that the prince is still allegedly sleeping. I have many questions about the Prince.
1. Is he still breathing?
2. Is his body still fresh?
3. Does he feed?
Someone sleeping I know doesn't eat, if he is actually sleeping, he shouldn't be eating. If he is not eating, what sustains his body?
2 decades is a long time, who knows if the spirit of the sleeping Prince has reincarnated.

I thought that there is only one prince of Saudi Arabia and that's one who's been supportive to the Dota 2 community. When there are release of battle passes whenever the grandest tournament for this community comes, he always buy a lot of battle pass levels and he spends a lot of money on it. But there's this one that you've shared and I like the word used as a sleeping prince instead of living dead when he's in that situation for 2 decades. Who knows if someone he'll be fully recovered and sees the world again because of the modern medical technology.

That other prince isn't sleeping though, he's active and pretty much enjoying the kind of life that a prince should have. But that title of being told as a sleeping prince, you're right that despite that his heart beats and I think that it's only the equipment that keeps him around in that situation and once that life support is gone, he's also gone forever. On the part of his parents, it's hard to see him in that situation and that's why with all of the money they have, that's what they can only do so much.

All hope of his recovery just hopeful with faith.
A miracle indeed is needed.
But still, as long as there's a chance and hope, who knows one day everyone will see him get up.

The love of a father to a son is what is been displayed here, the bond the father has for the son is what is keeping the boy still alive. from the article the father has refused for the life support machine to be removed, signalling that he believes by divine intervention, his son will resuscitated back to life. Medically I don't how possible it is for a brain that has remained in coma for over a decade to be well functional if he wakes up again.

Yeah , I have read about him some time ago. It's actually scary for me - 20 years in coma without any chance to recover. His brains are dead - such miracles the he would recover doesn't happens. Even if parents with billions in their bank account can return him to life, nobody can't. If would be best for him if his parents would decide to let him go.
You can be deaf or blind, without legs or hands, but being in vegetative state is worst what could possibly happen for human. That's not a life anymore.

Its not easy for parents, they say the biggest heartache one can suffer is losing your child, they can't forget the loss child even in the parent's dying seconds.
So parents prefer to keep it that way than to have the agony of just remembering his face they prefer to see their child in a coma than to weep in his grave.
They hold on to the miracle that he will one day wake up, there are people who wake up from coma and this is one example that was recorded.

Quote
Based on Guiness book of world records the longes coma to wake up is from Terry Wallis :
Terry Wallis (USA, b. 7 April 1964) spent 18 years 333 days in a coma before awakening: following a major automobile accident in Stone County, Arkansas, USA, on 13 July 1984, Terry suffered a traumatic brain injury that left him briefly in a coma and then in a minimally conscious state. He finally began speaking on 11 June 2003.
Terry Wallis's recovery was gradual, as he regained the ability to control some parts of his body and to speak. However, he remained disabled from injuries suffered during the accident that caused the coma.

People are arguing that since the parents can afford it, hr should be kept on life support for as long as they want. Everyone have the right to use their weath as they want. But that money they are spending on him can save many lives. They can set up a foundation with his name and donate to medical charities instead of keeping him. Maybe seeing him alive gives his parents some comfort; that's their choice anyway.
