Goldkingcoiner's BTC Paper-Trading Bot for Telegram

This is a playful Bitcoin trading simulation bot for Telegram, built using Python.
It lets users practice trading BTC with virtual funds in a competitive leaderboard setting.

update May 9 2025 - Version 2.0 has a better UI/UXD and a new chart command.
Leaderboard is calculated in PnL and users start with 100k USD instead of 10 BTC.
Privacy and security has been upgraded.

update May 17 2025 - added a /news command that shows the breaking BTC/Crypto news from various sources.

update May 27 2025 - added limit buy, limit sell, stop buy, stop sell, claimprize and my orders commands

update May 30 2025 -  /news now uses only the best news sources.
Breaking news sources from CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, The Block, CryptoSlate and Decrypt.
Similar or identical news headlines are filtered out. Headlines are now hyperlinked.

One of the beta testers and I must say
it was better than I expected and I expected alot since it was coming from a WO gang member.
The recent update shows how much he listens to reviews and it's quite progressing since version 3.0 is in work.

Trade without losing real money. It can help in serving as a demo account for newbie trader and even professionals to brush up on their skill.
Competition is just an icing on the cake.
This can serve as an alternative(option) from the thrill I get from placing a bet.

I'm happy the new version is out. I tried testing the old version some days ago and all I got was no response from the bot after trying to set my username.


The new version registered my username correctly and works perfectly on my end. I'll be awaiting the kick off of the contest, let's have some fun.

Thanks for the kind words! It's my first python code, so hearing compliments makes me very happy .

I will keep updating and upgrading the bot whenever I can, and making new contests every now and then. Maybe even weekly contests.
The next version I am working on will also have limit orders.

I have a request if possible, Im on a trade currently on the bot and up some profits but then I don't want to hodl for long. I wanted to close my trade but there's no option or command for that.

Maybe you can add that command to the bot so we would be able to close some trades when it gets to expected zones in the market. I have currently a buy and was going to close thinking the sell command would do that, but it ended up opening another position, a sell. which wasn't what I intended.

The buy command buys Bitcoin --> You buy by using an X amount of dollars (options are inline buttons with 5%, 10%,...) and you get an Y amount of bitcoin, depending on the current price of Bitcoin.

Now you can sell that Y amount of Bitcoin for a certain amount of dollars, depending on the current price. If you sell for a price that is lower than you bought for, you will have made a PnL loss. If you sell for a higher price, you will have a PnL gain.

Everyone starts with 100K USD and 0 BTC.

The buy command buys Bitcoin --> You buy using an X amount of dollars (options are inline buttons with 5%, 10%,...) and you get an Y amount of bitcoin, depending on the current price of Bitcoin.

Now you can sell that Y amount of Bitcoin for a certain amount of dollars, depending on the current price. If you sell for a price that is lower than you bought, you will have made a PnL loss. If you sell for a higher price, you will have a PnL gain.

Ohh, my bad.. I understand now.... Don't mind me, being a day trader seems to have gotten that impression on me, which is quite different from the hodl. Thanks anyway....

update: added a /news command. It will show the latest news for Bitcoin and crypto. Still beta-testing this, so no guarantee for source reliability or factuality.
