Halving is every 4 years event in the bitcoin block network. And the previous event occurred April 19th, 2024 and the next one is scheduled to happen on the 13th of April 2028. In this period, the supply of bitcoin is very low while the demand is high and that make the price of bitcoin high.

With many years in this market, I only at least before today, saw threads about Bitcoin halving countdown in bear markets when the market is bearish and boring enough so that halving news plays important role of warming people up, keeping their hands strongly under price falls and a lot of pressure or lack of hope.

In a bull market, news like this is not too necessary, you can reserve it for bear market in 2026 and 2027 years.

The best format to calculate the period when the next halving will be taking place is actually using only the block that have been mined and those left to be mined, you can never have an exact date for bitcoin halving reason been that although the average time needed to mine a block is 10 minutes there is usually a discrepancy between this time as the blocks are mined in varying time due to hashrate not been stable. Even if there is bitcoin difficulty adjustment every 2016 blocks the variance in this 2016 will most surely cause the date to actually adjust.

This current date will of 13 April 2028 will surely adjust either by moving closer or farther depending on the hashrate throughout this period till then, the difference though is usually not that much due to the control by the difficulty adjustment

But as a rule, when news start talking about the upcoming halving, it is already a little late. Too late to start investing in anticipation of the bitcoin price increase as a result of the reduction in the amount of mining. Less mining - the asset will be more difficult to access (more expensive).

The exact date of the halving can never be accurately predicted, as the time between blocks is not fixed, although on average it is every 10 minutes. Perhaps it is most accurate to say that halving happens approximately every 4 years and not to bother with dates, because realistically on that day only miners are probably unhappy because their reward is reduced by 50%, and everyone else is waiting for something that only happens months later.

I would perhaps emphasize that one should not have any great expectations from the next halving, because those who mine BTC have less and less influence on, so to speak, the creation of new coins - today they mine only about 450 BTC per day, after the next halving it will be just over 200 per day.

What I want to say is that just under 20 million BTC have already been mined today, so even though there is still 1+ million left, in the next 5+ years (approximately) we will approach 21 million, with 1% (210 000) remaining for the next 100+ years.

Correct, at least someone like OP remind us that there's halving event would come in future since for sure that many people didn't pay much attention on it and they are to focus on current market condition.

Already halving is notable to be one of the market events that creating miners revenue falls with reduction of supplies inflation which is known to be occured in every 4 years cycling and recycling of market events.

Let us do a little tour. After we have experienced the last halving, here comes the bull-run event which we are currently running on and after this bull run is over, in the next 1 year plus, we would get to market top where massive prices will be rallied and in 1 to 2 years comes the bear market when investors and traders begin to decline from the market due to price corrections and then, there will be an ease of adoption and investment influences and then in an average or equivalent to 1 year is when the market will experience a new phase halving event.

Invariably it is just too early to anticipate the halving countdown like the duration for the event is approaching closely. Meanwhile... There are still series of events to come before the halving.

This is call quality comments and need to be merited but I don't have smerit to send, sorry for that. This is educative and contributing to human knowledge. Such topics need to be published for people to know more at all time. Many don't know "What is Bitcoin Halving" and thread like this will make them to understand it as they are seeing it regularly.

You can say that but don't forget that no knowledge is a waste. You may think that information is too early but don't be surprised there are still those who need it to make their plans ahead of time. As for newbies, they should know that this market isn't all rosy as we see it today. It's never early to start the countdown. When the halving is on going then there shouldn't be a countdown but once the halving is done that's the start of the countdown. Even if many people will say it's too early then you can think of it as a reminder. It shows how time flies fast and even if it's close to halving or not the countdown is already starting because after all, the halving is every four years.

I read some user's replies saying it's too early to talk about the next halving which is really very funny because halving occurs every cycle of 4 years which means after a halving event has occurred, we will look up to the next halving which the countdown starts immediately after the previous one has happened and moreover, some newbies who are new into bitcoin and the forum might not really be accustomed with how the halving works and when it will happen so when they come across threads like this it gives them an insight of what the halving event is all about. This is beginners and help section so anything that can be related to newbies are very much welcomed.
