After I left a few years ago in this forum, I felt nothing but no remorse or regret knowing a lot of shitcoins and scam all over this forum. There are also some other reasons why I left and one of it was due to the number of post I did but not getting enough merits to rank up. Yes, I did want to rank up to join bounty hunting shitcoins.

As years past I still did check the BTC market and was surprise to know it was 36K USD at that moment. It did somewhat felt a little bit of regret for leaving the forum and the account which I have been used to. Right now, upon checking BTC market makes me more remorseful of quiting the forum and few cents of BTC holdings I sold. It was a big sigh knowing now the current market holds the BTC.

I am writing it here somewhat checking upon the new meta rules and regulations and found out still the same with the unofficial (official) rules and regulations. I have read it already it few times.

Maybe it is better to go back here in the forum and registering a new account may able to help me get back on the track. I wish I did not left. I did forgot my password and even my username for it was 10 years ago since I started during my college days year 2015-2019 on this forum.

Since you have no information to recover your account, thinking about it is not going to bring you any pleasure. It's better you continue with this new brand new account. Perhaps the people you had interactions with before may know you by your writing if they are still existed in the forum.

It will not be as easy as it used to. Read about merit.

ATM, I am checking and mostly I do not know the users here already. Those generous users here meriting a post for not reason. A user that just wanted other users to rank up and I even forgot the user account. LOL, I think that user was granted by the forum some merits to give monthly if I was not wrong. Anyway, a newbie is a newbie and there are many things to go hopefully with some other help with good guys here.

So, where should I start. I think I can go to bitcoin discussion and read again regarding bitcoin updates. It may be a hell over there reading spam posts but it is not usual I know because of bounty hunting.

Your limitations are needing to wait some hundred seconds between posts, you cannot wear an avatar and cannot post images. Besides this, you can enjoy the benefits of the forum as much as you will as a full member or even legendary.

You can rank up again, considering the time-frame you were last here, you ranked up before the merit system. Now you just need to get acquainted with it and share your knowledge with the community.

It's harder than it was before the merit system was implemented.
For a smoother journey brush up on your knowledge, learn stick to the rules and make quality posts (while been active).

pick a section you find comfortable posting in or one you want to improve your knowledge on.
Well Bitcoin discussion is a start, many atleast visit it once in a while.
You know what you better at grasping, could be technical support, economics, politics or assistance on knowledge that could be vital for beginners.

It's a bit restrictive as you may have think and nothing changes instead more strict rules are being implemented on a regular basis and if there's any need for such adjustments. Usually if you are that grounded on knowledge especially that of technical knowledge then growing up here in merits shouldn't be an issues, as I believe if you know what you are doing it would be that easier for you to rank even in less than 6 months if you know what you are doing.

Merits is only set there to push those lazy old fools who are just spamming all the boards with either scam posts, shilling or doing something that is not helping the forum for any reason or moments. Where I felt very bad was when you weren't able to remember your username. Or maybe can at least remember any bounties that you joined back then 2014/15? Since you said is been 10 years now so I assumed to be around 2013 and 2015 maybe your account could be restored tracking through the bounty spreadsheet or through POA?

No matter how long you have known this forum and how long has it left this forum, which is essentially from your conversation, of course you already understand the rules and situations at this time, this forum is free For anyone even though you have several accounts first, while you don't violate the rules I think you have a good chance if you want to change.

So, leave your bad situation in the past, because you don't get merit, now make a good contribution from now on, I'm sure many beginners are successful in the near future "other people you can also be able to".

It is very easy to rank up. All you need to do is making good and informative posts. You won’t rank up immediately as the process takes some serious time but if you make a habit of posting the good stuff, you will get there. Most of us here (especially those who created their accounts after the introduction of the merit system) ranked up because we like to make posts no matter what. Ranking up wasn’t our first priority. It happened naturally.

If you can accept this situation, in a year or two you might reach the highest forum rank. Otherwise you’ll only get angry and leave the forum again probably.

You didn't regret leaving the forum because of number of scam and shitcoins and also you wanted to rank up to join shitcoins bounty hunting. Contradiction is detected, there was no clarity of purpose, that was why you left.

This confirms that during bull run, people who left the forum tends to come back. People who knows nothing about the forum will discover the forum in their quest to buying bitcoin.

Let me give you a clue. Can you remember the email address you used within 2015 to 2019 to register accounts online. Search through the inbox, you might discover your username from there and then reset your password.

TBH, it is very difficult to rank up now compared to that time that merits were airdropped to make you a full member.

Since you talk of bounties, my guess is that you might have tried to join a couple of them back in the day. If you still have access to your crypto addresses, you can search them up in the forum, and then the account that posted those addresses for proof of authentication in bounties could be your account (username). You then start from there to recover it.

I find it hard to believe that you completely forgot your username if you were once active on the forum for some time. Ten years is a long time, sure, but your username? Come on.

You left the Forum forgetting that the Forum will continue to move on and it seems like you had it in mind that whatever post you made deserve to be merited, that's not how it works which you know if not by now I and so many other members would have been a legendary membe by now. Everybody wants to rank up but you have to do something to make it happen by dropping a quality post and other things that counts, using grudges to leave the Forum because you're not getting what you want isn't the best way to handle such situations...ask yourself what are you not doing that others are doing to earn merit.

From all you said shows that you lack patience, if you had it you would have been among those who are making and expecting enough profit. The market price dropped to the extent that many thought it would never get back up in a long while but few hours ago Bitcoin price went back to $101k, now you see why being patient and enduring everything around you is good, you're really the cause of you mistake.

My only advise for you is take your time and do all what you know how to do best, you know the rules and regulations so don't break any, before you know it that newbie rank you're seeing there will change and as time goes on you'd get back to Full Member like your other account. Forget the past and focus your energy on something that's in front of you and that is the future, merit, rank up comes when you don't expect. Welcome back and keep your head straight up.

First of all find why are you here?
If you are here to build up your account so that you can earn from signature campaign, then you do not have the right reason but if you are here for other things like by having an emotion for this community then find your own area of interests and try to contribute positively.
Help others where it is needed, write about topics which will educate others, share your experiences to encourage others to find bitcoin and crypto as their own financial tool to avoid banks.

I think the OP is being disingenuous. He couldn't get multiple merits because he was writing spam posts that weren't rated, and Bitcoin wasn't $36,000 in 2019; that was the winter of 2021. So he doesn't have a 10-year absence from the forum. I think he didn't forget his login, but he had another, not-so-good history: plagiarism or spam. 2019 is etched in my memory as "the machine that eradicates plagiarism from the forum with one sentence" when a bot came and blocked dozens of accounts. But yeah, OP, now you can, as you say, "get back on track" and let it be truly true for you.

 It's a bit funny when I see users who come back here after a long hiatus and begin giving reasons for their absence and one of them being that they weren't given much attention or their posts were not receiving the merits they thought was deserving and then when you look carefully at the said posts, you find that either they are below par or they are just spams because I don't understand how you expect merits for such when you're clearly not doing something that should get you the merits and the fact that the Op felt it was necessary to add the lack of receipts of merits as his reasons for not being around, I now wonder why he's back.

Every time I see a newbie who comes first to the Reputation or Meta board to discuss about difficult conditions on the forum, I know that it is an alt account and probably some attempt or scheme to boost the account. As a newbie to this forum, I came here for some information about Bitcoin, not to fix the DT system or anything on the forum.

It can happen. When I register somewhere and plan a short-term presence, I always use a random username (the first thing I read) to avoid any connection with other accounts.

It won't be hell reading through spam posts on Bitcoin discussions. You have yourself to choose which topic you are to read about and what is being discussed there.

You can leave the thread and move to another one if you see it is filled with spam posts, and better still, if there is anything that you want to learn, you can ask a question directly for a direct link or reply from those experienced.

I believe this is a lesson learnt the hard way and also a lesson to be consistent and committed to a course. If you had exercised patience, you could have become a legendary member, looking at the time you mentioned you first discovered this platform. It feels somehow like coming back to start afresh when you know you should have gone far, and very painful not to be able to remember that same account. Maybe your account could be amongst those that have received the airdropped merit back then.

I will suggest you look into those boards you frequently post on and try to track the year you were very much active on the platform to see old topics, if you can be able to track your statement or a post you have created. At least if you can not remember your name, you can try to remember a post you created with your style or pattern of writing. I know it will be a bit difficult and time demanding, but if you can face it, then you can be able to achieve it.
