I wonder how this new pope is going to mix up with the current objectives of the United States and the Trump administration,.to be honest. At first glance he seems to be a person who is intelligent and compassionate enough to uphold the values of the Catholic church, over the interests of Trump or the interest of the government of the USA.

Only time will tell this will be a good pope or there will nothing remarkable about him to deal the Catholic church forwards.
I doubt he will have something to do with MAGA or Trump anyways.
I really did feel the new Pope would be caught up somewhere in trying to balance religion and politics. I knew that something was fishy when Trump posted the AI photo of himself dressed like a Pope on X. When I saw it, I understood the message, which means he wanted an American Pope. Within few days, his wish played out and an American Pope eventually emerged. Well, it's not a coincidence, there's something behind the scene.

Answering Op's question about people's feelings of having the first American coach. I can't help but think when an African Pope will emerge, in 100 years time?

The Papacy is an attempt at world government. Trump was simply showing that America doesn't bow to the Papal government.

Is Trump's picture on social media that showed him as the new Pope an indication that there will be a US-born head of the Vatican? I am a bit disappointed that the new Pope is from a continent that is close to where the former Pontiff came from. I was expecting to see a Black Pope or someone from Europe or even Asia. Since it is a religious affair or is seen as divinely guided, there are no questions or regrets from me. I pray he contributes positively to the church and the world at large.
The choice of the Pope is something that is being guided by the Holy Spirit, it is not something that we should begin to question or be disappointed about. I see on reason for sentiment on race or skin colour. But It is the will of God has to manifest. It doesn't matter the skin colour of the Pope, where he comes from etc. What matters to me is that the will of God should prevail. When God say it's time for a black Pope or an Asian Pope, or any other race, he will make his will known through the process that usually determine who the next Pope will be. In the sight of God we are all humans. In his sight skin colour doesn't matter. Let's not bring the ideologies of circular politics into the things of God. God has chosen a Pope for us and let us be at peace with that.

Trump probably made a deal. Now we have a MAGA pope.

Cool
You should know that the electing of a new Pope has not been influenced by any president of a country, and no president, as far as Roman Catholics are concerned, will ever influence it. The Catholic Church does not answer to any country. The Pope has the same rights as a president. The office of the Pope is not a political position that can be changed within some years of office or call for reelection when the person is fit and healthy to continue to be a Pope of Roman Catholic

Don't you realize, by now, that government people don't always tell you about every activity that they or their 'agents' do? Have you lived with either Trump or the Pope so that you can see every move that they make?

In my post that you quoted, didn't you see the word "probably?" Trump is manipulating the US government in powerful ways, and even the Papacy wants to get onboard. So, an American Pope for the first time.
