There are some I do regret and others I don't nor would I ever will.
The ones I do are purchases that ended up not been useful and felt like a waste even as at the price of bitcoin
when the purchase was made.


The regret most have is that of missing out on potential returns forgetting that Bitcoin is still money.
There are things in life that are more important than adding more zeroes to your account.

Never purchased an item with bitcoin but have converted my bitcoin to USDT at multiple times and when bitcoin goes up again, the thought of regret always comes in which gives an impression that not selling would have been the best thing to do. Same way earlier investors that spent their bitcoin on personal needs or converted it to a more inferior thing, looking at the prospect of bitcoin and going on to spend it somehow looks unwise.

Even though BTC is a currency but it's not at the level where you can just spend it like the way you spend your fiat. If you're interested in using yours then you can do so but the narrative has shifted a lot to using bitcoin as an asset and not just a currency.

Why should I? I can not but I used bitcoin to purchase things starting from 2020 till now but which I can not think about and it is not often. But just that people prefer to just hold their coins and not use it for purchasing but fiat is readily accepted than cryptocurrencies locally. If bitcoin is accepted locally, I will prefer to use it to purchase goods and services.

Sometimes it actually depends a lot on the country that particular holder resides in. This is because in some countries and regions it is difficult to purchase with bitcoin not only because of awareness but also because of government policies that do not support bitcoin very much. Aside from that , most smaller payments are better made on something like the lightning network but most people are not familiar with the lightning network.

You can't blame holders of the likes of lazlo very much simply because they never knew bitcoin would turn out this big else no one will be so dumb to make such a move.

I don't buy anything with my Bitcoin because I can't spend anything with it. If I did and I was caught doing so, then I could get caught in a country where Bitcoin is not legal tender.
Besides, I still don't have a plan if I'm in a country where spending with Bitcoin is allowed by law, so I probably won't pay with Bitcoin. I don't want to even though Bitcoin is a digital currency.

At that time, I bought credit for my cellphone. I just curious if Bitcoin can buy something so I tried it and succeed. But then, I don't use Bitcoin to buy anything and only keep it. I don't try to buy a product that selling in the online store because Bitcoin is not legal here. Until now, Bitcoin can't be used for payment transaction so we can just sell our Bitcoin to fiat then we use fiat to buy something. I don't regret using Bitcoin bought credit at that time because I curious.

You are right and one of the problems that most people face is the ban and Bitcoin cannot be used as a means of transaction like fiat and that is what makes them obey the law and that does not mean they do not use Bitcoin as a means of payment and if it is allowed and also many merchants or others provide Bitcoin as an alternative means of payment I am sure they will use it even though they prefer to keep it but when they really need it they will definitely use it and lightning network is the solution because transactions using lightning network are almost always less than a second and very fast in transactions with very low fees or even free which are usually measured in Satoshi.

And even though in my country Bitcoin is only allowed for investment or as an asset but that does not mean I do not use it at all for transactions, and it will definitely happen unexpectedly and also individually with fellow Bitcoin users and by mutual agreement I use it in some transactions and also with things that happen unexpectedly and Bitcoin is the solution, one example that I have experienced and will not be forgotten is this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5401052.0#msg60271061

So far I haven't purchased anything using Bitcoin. If I want to purchase something with bitcoin, then I can't purchase anything, because bitcoin is illegal in my country. Now those who bought something using Bitcoin in the early stages, may regret it, because currently the price of Bitcoin is $100k plus. Although I didn't purchase anything with bitcoin, I would definitely regret it if I had purchased something using bitcoin.

As for me, I haven’t made a lot of big purchases, but what I’ve done might be worse as I’ve been actively gambling with my BTC. 

But honestly, I don’t see it as a problem. Just like in business, the key is to separate your personal and investment funds. So even if I’ve spent a lot on gambling, I don’t regret it. That money was set aside for fun. My investments are a totally different story.

Not really, I use my first Bitcoin earnings on purchasing my ROG gaming laptop to get more Bitcoin through bounty campaigns translation rewards. I will never accomplished my translation work flawlessly if I don’t have fast laptop that time since I only just rent a computer that time to do my translation job.

My laptop is still working until now that I still use on my shop. Surely, I will have more money if I didn’t sold my Bitcoin until now but I need it that time so I don’t regret my decision.

No one can predict the future. Let’s just be happy that we are still invested on Bitcoin until even with just tiny fragments.

I don't regret about what I did with my bitcoin sales when I needed money but I learned from it that I must have better financial management. It is classic advice that if you don't manage your finance well, it is hard for you to avoid unwanted sales of your bitcoin as investment is very long term. So you can not avoid times when you need money, and if you only have bitcoin, you will have to sell it or use it to purchase something directly.

Other people can regret but I don't, and as said I got lessons for having better strategy and capital management.

It's better not to purchase things that are not as valuable or profitable as Bitcoin if you don't want to regret in the future after realizing that the bitcoins you spent in the past is now worth alot.

Bitcoin is too valuable to be spent wrongly or unnecessarily. Better to hold than spend on things that won't be as or more profitable.

And my suggestion is to spend your bitcoins in a Bitcoin economy or  on things that benefit Bitcoin, so that the value of the bitcoins you spend is retained in the economy rather than on another network or nation's economy. *Buy from fellow bitcoiners, especially those that buy from you. That is how it should work in a future pro-Bitcoin marketplaces.

 If you want to buy something to eat or drink, make sure it's very healthy stuff that can make you active/healthy enough to work effectively and efficiently for the Bitcoin Community. Don't buy junks and unhealthy things. Buy or use more products or services that can be beneficial to Bitcoin, so that whenever you look back at your past purchases you will be comforted by the fact that  they helped you think clearly enough to contribute properly, maybe as a coder, to the Bitcoin Network. Or the purchased products or services earned you enough profit that's equal or greater than what holding bitcoin would've earned you.

Make sure the value of your bitcoin is retained in the Bitcoin Network, so that when you sell it to buy something, the price of Bitcoin is not affected negatively, it instead benefits it. To retain the value in Bitcoin is to buy the right things that benefit Bitcoin.

So, whatever I decide to buy in the future, I will make sure it benefit Bitcoin and is profitable enough to quench any future regret

If there is any transaction in btc it will be only in heavy things. Earlier it was not use so much but gradually this thing has also start and in one place Bitcoin has start to be used and we will see it being use later too. At that time he did not act wise due to which he must regret it today because at that time he could have been quite rich but he ruin this opportunity.

I never had such an opportunity and if I had I probably would have taken it because it wasn't worth that much at the time and I was more interest in such thing but I didn't get such an opportunity.

When I used my Bitcoins for some reason, that task or process was definitely very important to me. So I never calculate the cost for doing any important task. So I never regret my previous Bitcoin spending. If Lazlo had not bought a pizza with 10000 Bitcoins at that time, maybe no one would have known the real value of Bitcoin. Or no one would have counted Bitcoin as a value. He is now a memorable person in the Bitcoin world for his activity at that time. This is also a very big achievement of his. So he can't have any regrets about that matter.

Over the years after Laszlo Hanyecz used bitcoins to buy pizza, many investors now sees bitcoin more as a store of value and not for transactions to make purchases again so i doubt if there are many people out there who are using bitcoins for purchases except in those countries that have already made it a legal tender but for those of us that are still on a neutral ground on cryptocurrency and bitcoin, we are more of hodlers because we buy and hold and also earn and hodl because using your bitcoins to purchase items will be more like enriching the next person than yourself.

I know that Laszlo's use of bitcoin to buy pizza then was not regretted since it created some kind of awareness about bitcoin but if same Laszlo still have left over bitcoins till now in his wallets, i doubt if he will be willing to use it to buy anything yet again even though he must be very rich in bitcoins now if actually he had some left over and hodl till now.

Why regret events that happened in the past if it can't be changed? Regret about the past will only "poison" the present.

You ask this question to understand whether BTC-users have a syndrome of missed opportunity? Because bitcoin in the past and now has a completely different value. If I were in Laszlo's place and bought 2 pizzas for 10,000 BTC (which would make me a millionaire now), I still would not regret it at the moment. Since there is no direct financial damage. At the time of purchasing these pizzas, these 10,000 BTC were worth ridiculous money. And it is not a fact that these 10,000 BTC could be saved to this day.

Lack of financial success is not a loss, and lost profits only mean that you are left with what you have.

I do regret, yes! Big time!

Back in 2017 when I had purchased my first apartment, I had sold a good amount of Bitcoins to pay 20% of my apartment cost and taken 80% as mortgage loan. That time Bitcoin was standing at around 4000+ dollars.

If I had not sold of my Bitcoin during that time, today I would have purchased a much bigger apartment and without any loan.

I do regret that decision! I could have lived my life as debt free today!

I don't have an option to buy anything via bitcoin and if I do, then I probably will or at least to get the experience.

So if I have to spend my bitcoin then it is either through the gift cards, which is expensive or convert to fiat and then buy it. And yeah I do have one or a few, once I sold 1BTC to buy gold if my memory serves right and still that is the most regrettable thing I did from an investment perspective.
