I saw several articles talking about Manny Pacquiao Fighting for WBC welterweight championship against Mario Barrios. Right now, there is still no official announcement of their fight, but the official announcement is supposedly expected to be made after the election ends in the Philippines, according to the articles.

What do you guys think about this? I am excited to see Pacquiao fight again, but going for the title belt after almost 4 years of retirement could be a bit much for him, especially since he is already 46 years old.

I've heard that this is on his plan. Well, it's always like this whenever he gets into election, he gets back to fighting to get as much money as he can while he's still favored by most boxing fans. I would like him to see win whoever he's going to fight after this senatorial midterm election because that's what he's known for. He's the people's champ and there will be no other person or boxer that can be at par of his achievements as the pound for pound king. I think that even if he wins a senatorial seat, he'll still fight for this because the cost of campaigning always dries out his funds.

I'm never surprised if an athlete that has retired or is nursing retirement makes a comeback, it happens all the time so I'm not surprised at Manny Pacquiao. I don't know whether he'll be fighting for the money or the glory of a title but for whatever his reasons will be, nobody can deny his love for the game. I look forward to getting more update about the fight, it'll be good to stake something on it. Pacquiao, is loved and respected, he is the type of person that should be in politics, like the former footballer George Weah, who became president of Liberia.

The news still uncertain but today i have read some articles that Manny officially will fight against Mario Barrios on July this year and this news is confirmed by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman however he is my favourite but Manny currently 46 years old and he was absense for boxing match more than 4 years so i doubt Manny can performing well and beat Mario Barrios but as a fan i really love to watching this match

Maybe he had decided to fight again because of his richness is gradually depleting just because he had made use of those money on politics? We do know that running up wont come cheap.

We had been able to hear up multiple times about retirement but considering that there's already that 4 year gap plus having those exhibition matches in between then we can say that he
is officially retired and now we are hearing about possible official match again against Barios? Is there a rule about sudden such right arrangement after retirement.

For sure that there are tons who do want to see or look for him to fight again considering that he's a legend in boxing but for sure there would be also those critics too.

It is also possible of "passing the torch" to the younger ones, I often see this kind of boxing situation where before a legendary boxer hangs his gloves permanently he has to fight the current champion who in return will beat that legendary boxer, which happened with Pacquiao against The Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya, (just my thought no need to get serious about this  )
 

Anyway, this would be an interesting match, I believe the love for sports is the reason why Manny would still fight despite the fame and richness.  Of course, many will think that it is for money but I do not think Manny's assets is dwindling atm that he needs a financial supplement from his career.  The current net worth of Manny Pacquiao according to several articles^{[1] [2][3]} is around $220M.  So there is no basis that he accepted this fight because he is going bankrupt.

This is a treat for boxing fans especially those who love to see Manny Pacquiao in action.  I am a little worried because of the age but I aside from that, I still believe that the sting on Manny Pacquiao's punches is still there.

He announce so many retirements from the past but he keeps coming back. I guess he need more money again especially that he's running for government position and maybe he think that he can regain back what he spend if he successfully get this fight with Barrios.

Don't know if this is the best decision to do in his side since its undeniable that he's not getting any younger anymore and to risky if he receive lots of damage in his fight since money is provably worthless if he get serious injury from this fight.

But lets see what's next on this since somehow we can't deny that many people still love to see Manny Pacquaio's fight.

It's not the first time that we heard Manny wanting to make a comeback and choosing Barrios as his next opponent. Although nothing is final and it's really up to him as I guess the WBC or any given body is willing to give Manny a chance as we all know that he can still draw crowds even at this old age.

The thing though is that father time has caught up with him, and I don't think that we will see the old Manny and beating the young guys here. So to honest, I think that even though that Barrios is just a B-level fighter, I think he can beat this version of Manny, a old and no longer in his prime former champion.

So it's better for him to just retire for good.

I think he can still manage however this is not a good stance for him since he has been retired many times already. He always says he will never gonna do another bout games anymore. If the rumor is true then this is a title match means he will try to get back on the ring again. Let me guess, he needed this fight? Or just miss being inside the ring? As a Filipino, Manny Pacquiao will always be my GOAT when it comes to boxing. Sure, there may be other boxers that have better win records (e.g. Ali, Mayweather, Sugar, Tyson, etc.) but Pacquiao holds the SOLE record of winning eight ( different weight division titles in boxing. Not only is this boxing record impressive but it is also unimaginable on how he managed to defeat boxers like Margarito in his weight division.

In reality, Pacquiao is already an old man given that he is already 46 years old. With age comes with hampered and lessened attributes compared to his prime. While there may be rumors of retirement after his fight with Barrios, seeing him again on the ring fighting is always a joy that cannot be matched with.

That is true- I consider Pacquiao as one of those fighters who really brings an explosive fight to the ring. No running- just pure boxing, skill, and technique. If he does retire after his match with Barrios, then I think his record will remain or unbroken for a long time.

However, I believe half of it might be spent on his senatorial campaign, as we know that politics in the Philippines involves money.

Four years have passed after Pacquiao declared retirement in the media, so at the age of 46 years at this time Pacquiao wanted to return to the July 19 fist in Las Vegas, to fight Barrios, I thought it was a great honor for boxing lovers.

Well, we can’t blame him for making a comeback as his popularity is still high. He’s a Hall of Famer, so it’s easy for him to make millions again from this fight.

He is still active on his daily physical training routine until now unlike other retired boxer that already eat unli burritos whenever they want. 

MP is very athletic and active on different sports. I keep following him on his social media including reals related to him. I think his passion on boxing makes him motivated to still compete while he has power left on his body.

I think he will only retire for real if he was beaten badly.

Manny Paquiao has come a long way and his life has changed, and he was even a senator before, but his entry into politics is what ruined his career, besides the fact that he is old.

Then his career is even more ruined now that he is running again in politics as a senatorial candidate, but the alliance he joined is the one he used to call a thief, corrupt, and stupid, and here most of his countrymen saw that he has no self-confidence and principles. What he vomited up before, now he eats up again because he hopes that this will make him win, the steps he took
