Crypto thefts are increasing which should make know the reason privacy is very important. According to police, this happened in November of last year. They were three teens which kidnapped someone who just finished hosting a crypto-related event in downtown Las Vegas. They told the person that they have also kidnapped his father as they want him to give them his account password.

This is getting too frequent yo ignore. Earlier this week it was in France, now it is happening in America. This isn't about privacy anymore because some individuals cannot remain discreet. I mean their whole activities relates round about crypto just like this person who hosted a crypto event. I'll say we just have to become less predictable. Arrived in one route and leave via another route. Create the impression that you are heavily guarded and not an easy target to Pict on.

I just pray this does not spread to Africa because it will not be funny. The people are already dealing with a lot of issues and to add this new security threat to their ordeal will be heart wrenching. There have been a lot of people who openly promote Bitcoin here, some of whom are actual holders, this menace will put them at risk since they openly advocated for Bitcoin. Its just so sad that instead of people to openly identify with Bitcoin, a lot of people will begin to do things silently and this will prevent people from learning about Bitcoin.

Most people do this for show offs or even for promotion and getting more followership on their handles forgetting that the media never forgets and these bad guys may even know them in person or even track their whereabouts for as long as it takes to get to them.

Some dudes have also gotten into trouble for flaunting funds that are not even their own, A friend of mine who constantly flaunts wallets gotten from social media on his WhatsApp status was robbed two years ago and when the robbers saw he was broke in reality and only rich on his status, they gave him the beating of his life that left him hospitalized for a month or so. He even narrowly escaped being shot fatally by one of the robbers out of frustration

The crypto space is not friendly, everyone needs to be in charge of their security and it all starts with being very serious with privacy.

What we really need now is for governments to create laws that protect crypto holders, so we can confidently go public with our investments. There was actually a recent event held in the Philippines where one of our payment channels organized a cryptocurrency event called "Bitcoin Pizza Day" where we commemorate the person who traded thousands of BTC for pizza!

Well its instinct. If you think you have plenty of bitcoin asset and you are an influencers then its not likely that you should post a lot about your portfolio cause its eye sore to some theft. Even with your close friends its still dangerous, since we arent sure since people usually change attitude when it comes to money.

Influencers like to chase clout, and that's why it is unnecessary to share the crypto holdings that they have. They like to put it onto their walls because there will be engagement with it, even if it's just a photo.

The wrong thing is they don't know that there are bad people that are lurking on the web and when they see some familiar people or influencers that they know where they reside, they can make them as targets.

I agree, that even with our friends we should be secretive or remain it confidential and don't be so vocal about how much holdings you have or if you have when they ask.

The best way to invest in Bitcoin is by being private with your investment. Right now, we don't judge our safety by the environment we live in. Every Bitcoin or crypto enthusiast, irrespective of where they live, is a potential target. It is very evident in the kinds of news we see on the internet as it relates to crypto. Satoshi has already designed Bitcoin the way it should be. Only if Bitcoiners would use Bitcoin the way it is supposed to be used and avoid exposing their identity unnecessarily.

For sure they made a lot of improvements after those kidnapping incident happen and the raise of numbers of crimes related to kidnappings of crypto individuals for sure raise its concern and we could also see that there's good development happened on that case.

Also better for people not to announce their wealth or how much they made on crypto since even if the authorities made a lot of good counter measure towards crimes related to this industry there would be a situation that criminals will succeed especially that they studied well their subjects. So better be safe and don't expose theirselves that they are crypto or even a fiat millionaires to avoid get involve in this issues.

Sorry for the bad incident that happened to the teenagers. But that's the risk for crypto holders who don't pay attention to their privacy. I don't blame the victims, but there are many criminals out there who have begun to understand how crypto works and how valuable it is. Surely these criminals have done research and targeted their victims, because it is impossible to do it to random people - especially here the victim holds $4 million worth of coins and NFTs, it makes criminals think that it will be easy to target them.

This also reminds us that the more we are exposed as "crypto holders" to more people, the more likely we are to become victims of crime. And that's why protecting our privacy as holders is very important.
