S21+ 235th immersion experience?

Hi guys

Does anyone have experience using s21+ 235 th single phase with fan removal and immersion?

I am planning to use 6 in total in a residential building , air cooling is not an option because of the noise, I wanted to build 1 big alloy tank or 2 smaller alloy tanks, then remove the fans and put one of the fan devices In each machine

Dunk into bitcool tank

Then have a 1 inch pipe / pump circuit into big automotive radiators mounted outside , might submerge the radiators in fresh constant water sub 14 degree Celsius

But I heard that s21 does not like immersion?

first rodeo here but i have been a lurker for sometime. I am allowing enough funds to purchase upto 6 x s21 235th

, i know that it has been done lots with s19s from research however one of the suppliers told me that the S21 do not like being submerged and this will put a spanner in the works for me

Immersion is the only way for me to go as i have to keep the noise and internal heat to absolute minimum even in an outbuilding.

I have access to an size of automotive/commercial truck type radiator for the outside cooler part. My good friend can tig weld and i have a spare few sheets of 3mm aluminmum for the tanks.

Then its just a case of adding pipe work for the circuit, pump and enough bitcool for immersion.

I have a 32 amp and 68 amp it armor cable going out to the out building already in trench etc, i just need to finish the MCB on opposite end.

Ethernet connections all ready to connect


Originally i was going to use the radiators as a heat exchanger type set up to dump the heat into a pool, however thinking about it i dont think it will work so well. If you want to keep the bitcool at 25 degrees max then that is not going to be a very warm pool.

At 35 degrees i think the miners loose some efficiency.

So i either submerge the radiators in a constant cold sub 15 degree supply of fresh water, or i have to run fans on the radiators to dump the heat into the atmosphere?

Are you doing any immersion cooling with S21?

That applies only to ambient air temp used for cooling. The chips themselves prefer to be between 60-80 deg C and with the high thermal efficiency of liquid cooling that means using a fluid that is in that same range. Any lower and they are not stable (this is why miners use a pre-heat cycle when starting up).

In short you will have to control the fluid temp, in the case of using the radiators in air you control fan speed. For fluid-to-fluid cooling you must control the flow of the final cooling fluid (pool water) through the heat exchangers - do NOT throttle the flow through the miners.

I would say that the ASIC S21 can be immersed in a special liquid, but from the experience of miners, it will then work with air cooling.
I don't understand why you should do this now, when there are models with water and immersion cooling on the market?

And immersing ASICs with air cooling in liquid = this is the loss of all warranties and problems with repair. No one will give you a guarantee for repairs after.

If you want to use air cooling, then read reviews about different models. For example, if you want to use Bitmain Antminer T21, then these ASICs have certain shortcomings that are better to fix before mining. Good firmware has already appeared for the T series and it would be better to replace the factory thermal paste on the chips.

with proper mods to the t21 i get 17 watts a th.

i listed three of them on my ebay account

as I upgraded to the s21xp

2 boards around 128th and 2400 watts

but you can dial them down to

60th and 1300 watts and lower fan speeds if you want.

I remember that the first models were unsuccessful, and the chips at the end of the board overheated and burned. The manufacturer solved this problem through firmware, reducing the performance of the problematic chips so that they did not overheat.
This is one of the inexpensive ASICs, but the miner needs to know how to work with it.

Just use air Cooled miner, at least you have variety  . Mine immersion and can convert back to air cooling if really like. Also much easier o resell if want.

You are very wrong about this. If you put an air-cooled ASIC into immersion liquid and then decide to use air cooling again, you will have a lot of problems. Nobody does this, especially on new ASIC models.
