An exchange, known as Paymium in France, its CEO Pierre Noizat's daughter and her son were attacked in broad daylight by three masked men. They tried to force Noizat’s daughter and her son into a waiting van. The accompanying male partner was assaulted when he tried to intervene but Noizat’s daughter resisted and managed to take one of the guns off the attackers.

Eventually, people passing by intervened, and the masked assailants fled in the van, which was found nearby. All three victims suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

This is one of many of such incidence this year and it is obvious that attack on cryptocurrency users/holders is becoming the new trend. If this does not get anyone worried it does to me because I have started developing some kind of fear in telling people about Bitcoin and how it can help them. I have been actively advocating for Bitcoin among friends and loved ones and sometimes I go as far as showing some of them my wallets to give them idea of what I'm talking about. As it has become obvious that it is turning into a huge security threat, I don't have the motivation to do that anymore. I don't know how we will keep up pushing for Bitcoin in our local communities under the present realities.

Ive saw this on X and the video is so scary for everyone. I think authorities need to warn every known users who are also famous to keep their mouth quietly or dont be so active on social media regarding their assets on crypto cause this is seen by criminal people who are likely to got interest with it.

 Situations like this should be one of the reasons why Satoshi decided to make himself anonymous, if he was not, maybe him or his family would've probably received threats from kidnappers or even assaulted like those victims in the OP post, anyways thankgoodness they didn't succeed in kidnapping anyone, the CEO of that exchange would've been paying up heaving sum for ransome.

Of late, the majority of the news on crypto attacks on individuals has been in France, all the same, and I wonder what is happening over there because France has not been in the headline news for this kind of report. Still, these days, the narrative has changed and is quite frightening. This is why crypto identity should be anonymous so that no one can be able to know or have an idea of wallet owners and who they are.
Aside from the fact that crypto exchange owners' identities are always known, their families should be out of public notice because they can be attacked at any time, or they move with security for the safety of their lives. If the daughter had not done what she did, they would have been kidnapped, and the kidnappers would have demanded a ransom for their release.

All these happenings should be an eye-opener and a lesson to learn from for those who can not keep their holdings or assets, and also to keep their families away from the public if they are top-rated influencers, or enthusiasts who are always sought after for crypto engagements.

As for your request, that is a good idea as it would serve as a guide for members to know what is happening around the world when it comes to crypto safety matters and not only that, if peradventure one wants to travel to a country or visits a place, if that place is a cryptoviolent area and news about that place is captured here, one would need to be cautious and to know what to do to be safe so that they are not attacked when they get there. This is all about courage and confidence, sometime if we let go about these two, we are already gone, this also applies to what we have, we must have confidence in the security of our asset depending on the wallet we use and have the boldness to resist any form of attack on us, be it digital or physical, people are there running a check on our ability, some can even confront us physically as in this case, but not given up is one of the way we could resist the attempt to ripped us off to what belongs to us, privacy also is important, because if others don't know what we do and have, they may not set us as their target for fraud.

This is honestly so  alarming. I feel like we all need to stay anonymous as these criminals just assume that if you're into crypto, especially if you run an exchange, you're swimming in coins. It looks like this was supposed to be a kidnap-for-ransom, but thankfully it failed. Still, kidnappers are eyeing crypto more now since it's easy to launder, mix, and spend without too many questions.

Very scary as this isn’t even a one-off.

I’ve seen a few reports lately,  the last one was about a guy at a crypto conference whose family got kidnapped, and he was forced to send crypto to get them back.

I haven't heard this news, as I'm very busy in a new endeavor, but it's really scary to hear this kind of news. And if I remember, we have similar incidents as well in France involving a big CEO of a company maybe someone can refresh me on this. In any case, even us just average joe investors should also be very careful on the surroundings as we don't know we might be the target physically. Or better yet, we shouldn't carry a crypto wallet in our mobile coin as this is the best and easiest way for us to lose our hard earn crypto to this criminals. So again, it's worth to report this news in our community as this is very real now.

When I read about kidnapping of people who hold crypto I used to imagine that it would have happened on a lonely path where there are no people around. But when I saw the video of this failed kidnap attempt, it change my view.

There are actually people who will be around and watch this happen and will just mind their busy. This doesn't happen on a lonely path, it happens in broad daylight with people walking around and cars moving. People can already see that something wrong is about to happen and they just don't do anything.

I have said to myself, that we are our own best security. Protect yourself by whatever means possible because the people who are supposed to help you may just be videoing as it happens to share on their social media.

This is an insiders attack, I think the CEO daughter is leaving in an environment that her class is more than, I know france is a developed country but not everywhere have securities challenges  and her location at that time is not secure, since I did not see any law enforcement agents intervening in this situation, the CEO daughter is thought so well for that self defense.

France has become worse and worse in their social governance and security in their societies after several decades of importing many immigrants in both legal and illegal ways. Not all immigrants who come to a developed nation are good people but rate for this with legal immigrants would be higher than with illegal immigrants.

By importing many illegal immigrants, France has opened its national gates to more possible criminals into their countries. Those latest cryptocurrency-related kidnaps are only tip of iceberg but can somewhat reveal how that nation is decreasing in security and quality.

Please do, and keep up with the good work, because it seems news like these are now becoming more rampant, as more lazy people are now making decisions to take the wrong part on a daily basis.

Was it yesterday or two days ago, you created a thread of a kidnapping and extortion case, and today, there is another attempt to kidnap someone's children inorder to extort their father, who happens to be the CEO of an exchange. I just want to believe that those criminals won't get away with this attempt, because they need to answer for their wrong deeds.

This isn't even a case of making things private because the targeted victim happens to be a CEO, and such title isn't something that can be kept private as far as licensing of the company is concerned.

Instead of creating a separate topic for each separate news item, it is enough to create one single topic, in which you can add such news. And the best place for this topic will be the Press section, not the beginers.

As long as crypto is a currency arm robbers will be after people investing in crypto because it's easy for them to rob them off their crypto assets. if the kidnappers/arm robbers can successfully adopt their victims compared to that of fiat. This is why plebs like us should be more secretive with our crypto involvement.

People are no longer targeting fiat rich people but crypto investors since that's the new form of money that people throw their value into. Crypto is digital and you can easily keep millions of dollars worth of crypto in your phone and have access to it at anytime. More security measures should be practiced to keep you, your family and your crypto assets save from danger.

I saw this on TikTok with different camera angles. The guy protecting the child was bloodied from the attack, kudos to him. Also, it was mentioned that this is the 4 kidnapping case that involves cryptocurrency in France.

This is why it is extremely important not to give information about your wealth online, because it can be your protection from things like this.

I made a post days or weeks ago that every crypto enthusiasts need to be more careful before they expose their identity because they do not only endangered themselves to physical attack for most important people in their family also be a target which an example is what we see here.

Now that we have institution and some government hodl Bitcoin I hope they would at least create something or group that will act as emergency response to every crypto holder attack or safety, because sooner or later, someone within their camp will also be a victim.

In the meantime, I like that the CEO's daughter barely responded to the attacker, which saved them from being taken away.

This is why you should never disclose that you own any Bitcoin. If you say that, you become a target. While most people are hopefully normal, there's always a small chance someone that is fucked up in the head finds out and now you may be profiled and considered as a worthy attack, and this possibility increases the more you flaunt your wealth, so if someone knows you own BTC or any crypto, and you go around in lambos, then your chances become increasingly higher.
This is also the problem of paying with BTC. Once you pay with BTC, you already admitted you own BTC. It is only reasonable to thus mix your coins before sending, so you don't reveal the totality of the total possible holdings on your addresses. This is why people that are against mixers are insane.
