We are all probably familiar with the terms "Temporary account suspension", "Cooling-off periods", "Self-exclusion" by now because almost every casino now implements such features to support responsible gambling.

But my question is how does the casino know how much money I have the ability to lose, and if they don't know this, how do they enable Temporary account suspension or the Cooling-off periods on my account?

I have never used such features. Is there anyone here who has used such features or benefited from them?  Roll Eyes

They normally do not see how much money you have, they see the behavior of most users and I have witnessed myself in a chat of a very well known casino that a user reported there that the casino limited him because he had made 10 deposits in the same day and in just a couple of hours so that was the reason, they don't care how much money you have or can spend, they act based on behavior nowadays and I think they do well to do so as they limit a lot of damage on such acting. Fortunately the guy saying so was a very rich person as all his deposits were over 500 dollars each, so in total he had deposited over 5000 dollars during that day. They even keep tracks of the cooling periods, as I added myself for a non-specified amount of time and after 5 months I wanted to re-establish my account, they didn't allow me saying, try again once you have reached at least 6 months and this is for your mental health care.

They dont know, maybe you consistently place many bets and you are now warned to minimize your loosing speed thereby pausing you to taking a break thereafter, i think this function is coming with a company that have greater love for its players to be honest, most company would not bother to integrate such key using that opportunity to leverage and milking from new players.

Only those that dont trust their gambling behavior needs and uses this feature, if actually they cant consciously know their habit.

I don't think casinos are the ones who automatically initiate  or activate this feature automatically on the account of a gambler or user, it's mostly users themselves who request the casino to apply such limitations of complete lockout on their account when ever they feel that they (the user) is gambling too much and can't control him or herself from doing it.

It is very rare to come across a casino who will automatically activate any feature that blocks the gambler access to the casino or access to games which the gambler could lose money on, except the occasions where the gambler have been playing and winning too much, the casino can apply a cool off period on his account to limit his games and winnings, or possibly limit the gambler completely by blocking him access to those games he or she has been winning alot from.

I think the suspension of the account has nothing to do with the user's finances, I think there are only 2 possibilities, namely an error from the related party, or an error from the user himself. I have seen something like this on a forum belonging to a gambling site, there is a user admitted to having experienced something similar, namely a temporary suspension, but after trying to contact customer service it was finally resolved, but it might take some time, but that's what can be done, and what is needed is patience to wait for the related party to check what the real problem is.

But my question is how does the casino know how much money I have the ability to lose, and if they don't know this, how do they enable Temporary account suspension or the Cooling-off periods on my account?

I think it’s us who can only activate that as it’s not the casino’s job to care about how much we can afford to lose.
Their main goal is simple: keep us playing so they keep earning.

And this is the reality… if they ever suspend your account, it’s not because you’re losing,  it’s because you’re winning too much, and they hate that.
Casinos love losers, but winners? That’s when they start acting funny if you know what I mean.

Exactly the point and inline with what I said above, I personally have never come across a situation where the casino is the one who blocked or limits the gambler access to his or her account or games simply because he or she is losing too much, this has never happened in an online casino that I know of, only time online casinos will limit or block a gambler is when he or she is winning too much..

Only one time have I read in the news that a physical or land based casino drove a gambler out of their casino and banned him from ever entering the casino again after the gambler was said to have won over $150,000, money enough to change his life and that of his family completely, the gambler then refused to go home to his family, he made the casino premises his new home, he was there without his family knowing his whereabout, and in less than 15 days, he has lost the entire $150,000+ back to the casino, the management learning that he hasn't been home since after the win drove him out of the casino and banned him from ever coming back, but this is after he has lost all the money 😁

You didn't clarify the air from this, temporary suspension is not that common and there must be a minor reason for that, casinos cant just do this to enforce moderation for a gambler, they don't even care about what is best for us or not, how we gamble or not, once they are receiving their daily flow of users to their platform gambling, except for those that do violate the rules, they may not be allowed to gamble and be given a ban, but i don't often see the event of receiving a temporary one like that, except for the permanent ban.

But my question is how does the casino know how much money I have the ability to lose, and if they don't know this, how do they enable Temporary account suspension or the Cooling-off periods on my account?

The gambling platform that does this will definitely have their conditions and criterial used for this, if you reach out on them they will explain more better on why.

Yes, I have heard the online casino site using the temporary termination feature on the gambling platform, unfortunately the casino that I use does not use these features, I have been looking for it but I can't find it.

In short, even though I also haven't used the termination feature, I think the information below can be petrified.
Quote
The steps that need to be taken:
1. Look for temporary termination features:
Check account settings on websites or gambling applications to find temporary termination features or self -exceptions.
2. Select the period:
If available, select the time period that suits your needs and desires.
3. Confirm option:
Confirm your choice to ensure active temporary termination.
4. Additional Information:
Some websites or applications may offer additional information about how temporary termination can help prevent gambling addiction.
5. Re -check the settings:
After the temporary termination period is complete, check again your account settings to make sure you can access it again if desired.

Temporary Termination Benefits:
Rest from gambling:

Tempting the account can provide a break time from gambling, helping to reduce stress and addiction.
Prevent losses:
Temporary termination can help prevent greater financial losses.
Protect yourself:
By temporarily stopping the account, you can protect yourself from gambling addiction and other related problems.
Allows recovery:
Temporary termination can provide time for you to recover from addiction and seek professional assistance if needed.

I have done the above method, but I have trouble finding these features, whether I will do it if I find, let me learn first in detail. It seems that not all online gambling platfroms use these features.

There is no way for the casino to know how much money we have, maybe casino will only use our deposit statistic within specific time of frame.
If user's deposit activity seems to be more than usual, maybe the casino will suggest the user to use self exclusion feature although it is so rare case.
Self exclusion usually done by request from the players who think that they cant control their gambling habits.
I have never used this feature too but I think they will simply freeze the account of the user once self-exclusion is requested for the specific period of time.

Casino don't know how much money you have or how much are your limit to gamble. Reason is they don't have access to your bank balance, even after submitting your KYC they don't know your credit score but they can make a rough estimate by going through your gambling history to determine a mean bankroll amount to determine your limit. Of course the result may not be accurate unless you're in a regulated environment where income verification is required (rare and usually for high-stakes players).

That's obvious. In many western countries (in all the European Union, which is the case I know best for obvious reasons, but in many more) this is strictly forbidden due to the Data Minimization Principle, which means not to process more data than strictly necessary.

Many people hate KYC, so who would like information like hit account balance to be known by anybody else, not to say private companies and specifically casinos? That would violate the most basic privacy. In addition, it's not necessary at all for self-exclusion, which is the best and almost only good solution (like self-control, self-custody... aren't we writing on a (the) Bitcoin forum?).

Same here, never used such features as well as I know that I have never involved myself gambling irresponsibly rather always having target and limits I should gamble.
Back to your questions; one thing you must know is that the casino or betting site usually oversee your all your activities the way you funds your account and how you do bet, if there are any illegality the casino easily sense it and immediately placed your account on restrictions or ban especially that of trying to use an unclear document to pass verification they wouldn't mind setting the limitations on your account.

The final conclusion or something that we can be able to tell about on the house actions in regarding into this one is that they wont be taking up any actions. Why? they would be wanting for a gambler to lose up that big or everything they do have on that gambling session on which thats the most common normal approach or simply their goal in the first place. Those features and other funactionalities in regarding about those exclusions or whatsoever, then its been put up on there on which they do trying out to show that they do care about into their gamblers on which the real thing on here is that they do wanted to lose up even more and made out more money with that.

Self exclusions and making use of it will be that not that too common or something that gamblers will be trying out to ignore it out. They will be trying out to have those kind of reconsiderations if ever they've been experiencing up some issues about financial aspect but thats if that certain gambler notices it out? Usually people do made out those kind of approaches or realizations when its already too late or simply the damage has already been done.

Let's be honest, to start with if you actually are a responsible gambler who properly gambles the way he ought to, there would never be a time you would actually need to explore those features. Besides that, an addict is an addict and almost nothing would stop them if they wanted to still gamble. Basically they could apply for the suspension and in the create a new account on another casino and kick off where they stopped previously.
So in the end it really doesn't make much difference it's just a measure of your level of maturity and responsibility.
Nobody intentionally wants to be addicted to gambling. Some conditions could trigger excessive gambling. Also, this option or feature is not restricted to gambling addicts. It could also be a preventive measure against excessive gambling. Some people are easily carried away by an activity. Triggering this temporary account suspension would serve as a preemptive measure against addiction.

I have never used such features. Is there anyone here who has used such features or benefited from them?  Roll Eyes
I haven't used this feature because I always follow my gambling budget accordingly. So no need for these restrictions.

Theres no way they can have access to that of the money you can able to spend on their gambling site. It is only possible if the gambling site manage to have you bank access or own personal account on bank which likely you been hacked. Maybe for fake sites its possible and you are a victim but for legit one theres no way.

Honestly Id rarely see some suspencion on gambking site except for those who are doing illegal activity.

Roll Eyes
Temporary cooling time, is somewhat a terms that is used by casinos who place playing restrictions on their players accounts that are suspected to be gambling too much, the machinist used to determine such an account is not clear to us but what is notable among  those that have such restrictions, is that they all have traces of gambling addiction and over spending in gambling.

But we have other features such as self exclusions limit, this feature allow the gambler to take action against their own gambling activities, such as self exclusions or setting an exclusions limits, once that limit is reached the casino exit the player from the casinos automatically.

Gambling sites are implementing that features to make it looks like they are supporting responsible gambling, but what gambling site really want is for people to lose their bet. If gamblers don’t lose, then gambling sites won’t be making money. So gambling sites implementing that future doesn’t mean they really want gamblers to gamble responsibly.

But my question is how does the casino know how much money I have the ability to lose, and if they don't know this, how do they enable Temporary account suspension or the Cooling-off periods on my account?
If you are placing a bet, and you are losing frequently, then they might suspend your account, I think that’s the only way which they will know that you are gambling too much, but gambling sites really want people to lose, if gamblers keep on winning, then gambling sites won’t really be making profits.

I haven't used those features that temporary suspends my account or self excludes me from gambling to them. I think that it's only useful when we're losing a lot and we cannot control ourselves.

These casinos won't know how much capacity that we can lose to them unless we've got history and record on them on how much we've deposited and withdrawn.

Those are the only key details that they'll have for us and even if told them how much capacity we can deposit and lose to them, they won't argue with that because they'll only base on the details we have.

I think it’s us who can only activate that as it’s not the casino’s job to care about how much we can afford to lose.
Their main goal is simple: keep us playing so they keep earning.
yeah except if you decide on your own that you no longer want to keep playing then the casino has no other choice but to respect your decision

even then they can seem persistent and try to get you back with promos and whatnot

And this is the reality… if they ever suspend your account, it’s not because you’re losing,  it’s because you’re winning too much, and they hate that.
Casinos love losers, but winners? That’s when they start acting funny if you know what I mean.
lol there would definitely be an investigation held if you start winning too much whether they are genuinely curious or just upset they keep losing money on you is beyond the point

That's to say the casinos are inbuilt such that they can detect everything about an account since they are being handling them and that's why most times it's said that one can't beat the casino no matter how much you try. It's definitely so undescribable how they tend to know or be aware of things that's happening in ones account. About this new features I can't possibly give much credit to it but then I think they are taking advantage of the fact that our documents and information are tied to them that's why.

Through kyc. If they ask for supported documents of your financial accounts and statements then that's one way for knowing how much you can lose on their casino.

and if they don't know this, how do they enable Temporary account suspension or the Cooling-off periods on my account?
It's probably in the platform's policy that if someone has lost a lot of money in a short period of time, then this cooling off periods are going to trigger the alarm on your account. And with that, that's how they're setting it for yourself. It might be tricky to think that they shouldn't do that so they can continue to earn from their user. But it is a must that they also need to help their users control their spending habits when they're mostly losing all of their bets.
