So we have a country for almost each region: north america, asia and australia. Did any of the countries in the list surprise you? Is there a particular country you want to visit purposefully just to gamble? Whole list can be seen here.

Most of the statistics that were used for the survey we find online regards to the subject matter is from gambling losses, at least that was what I read up and US is actually topping those list followed by China. But why China? When they declare gambling as illegal yet they find a way to gamble. Or I think their population also contribute to how much total loses they have compared to the numbers from other countries.

However, I was surprised Nigeria was not in the list of top 10 gambling countries. I use to think Nigeria will be in that grade because of the numbers of increasing gambling houses and online gambling apps in the country. Or perhaps Nigerians focus more on football gambling and not basically series of casino games which contribute a whole lot to gambling games than football even though football is popular.

I got curious what region of the world is the most popular for gambling and I came across a ranking of countries based on their total gambling gross loss. The Top 5 are as follows: 1) United States, 2) China, 3) Japan, 4) Italy, and 5) Australia. As I expected US is the first when it comes to gambling. Around 26% of US adults placed bets on the Superbowl in 2024, totaling around 23.1 billion dollars in wagers. This amount rose by approximately $7 billion compared to the previous year. Their total loss annually comes up to $116.9 billion. I am not surprised as well that China and Japan followed but what surprised me is Italy and Australia. Traditional gambling activities like Baccarat and Fibonacci also originate from Italy. Venice and Milan are two of the country’s largest gambling hubs, featuring over 15 casinos. But Italy did not strike me as a country where people specifically visit to gamble in.

The countries of the European continent are very ahead in all areas, be it gambling or anything else. They use gambling as a place of fun, but those who are from middle class families use gambling as a source of income. Because they think that they can win a lot of money from gambling and through it they can become rich. And after playing for a few days, when they face a lot of losses, they stop gambling. But since the people of the European continent use gambling as fun, they always continue to gamble for fun purposes and the population of that country is very high, so these countries are at the top in all areas, be it gambling or anything else.

It's not basically because it's easy to make the money out there that's making them tend to Gamble without limits, the thing is they are being known for gambling cause they see it as part of them. But for the records I agree with you that  Las Vegas are known for their distinctive habits of gambling,and they have this big casino that alot of things are done like sit out and hangouts, they have slots machines of various kinds as well so all of this can result to an individual to go overboard whereby making them one of the known countries that gamble.

I think one of the reasons why the US has high rate of gamblers is because they have the big casinos around each states especially at Las Vegas that is the top casinos location in the world. The US policies support these casinos and the people who are interested in gambling can easily go to any casino centers and try their luck.

Gambling has been the major source of income of many people which is why they can never leave it. Some gamblers are making more than 5 years the salary of many workers in one seating which is why the rate of gambling can not reduce at all. New gamblers are joining the the space after they have heard about people making huge profits from gambling. By 20230, there could be more gamblers in the street than the numbers of employed workers.

It was not surprising for me because they are rich countries. I'll be surprised if my country could be there or even at least one of the top 20. It is expected in these countries, as gambling is a huge business and it generates more money. And this will also tell us that more people are engaging in gambling, not just to win but to have pleasure. Unless these countries are poor.
We could say that gambling is already a part of our day-to-day activity. The list will show us that the demand is quite high in big countries.

Australia, on the other hand, took me by surprise! I had no idea that the volume of bets there was so significant. Later, I checked it out and, in fact, they have a very strong sports betting culture and those slot machines are spread all over the place.

About visiting a country just to gamble... I think Las Vegas is still a classic that I would be curious to visit, more for the experience of the place than for the game itself.

I am not surprised to see Australia in the list. Some time ago we had here topic about government and banks were planning or preparing a law that does not allow Australian to use bank cards for gambling, because a lot of Australian took loan and gamble. I think it has ended with not finding a right solution how to do that "gambling ban for cards" technically. Italy only surprised a little. After seeing how they fan for their football clubs, I wont be surprised that majority of Italian gamblers are football bettors.

Nah it did not surprise me at all especially that USA and China placed 1st and 2nd respectively.

I mean, Las Vegas is located in the US and China is expected to be in the list given its massive population and tons of advertisements of gambling. Additionally, China created thousands of gambling websites that spread its influences to different countries across all the continents. While this may be said, it is obviously beneficial to a country financially due to the tremendous amounts of revenue that gambling can generate.

I am curious, however, regarding the statistical data of gamblers who sought professional help per country. With this kind of data, we can check which country suffers the most addiction caused by gambling. This data can be useful in order to at least help others in need in order to address their addiction.

You know, you post makes me wonder whether there is some societal and economical differences in countries where gambling is completely forbidden and people in those countries do not have access to casinos or bookies in the same way we have and take for granted. It comes to my mind places like Saudi Arabia, they are considered to be a high income country thanks to their oil reserves and industry, but their laws based on the Sharia do not allow them to gamble or bet. Makes me question if they have a better level of life and the poor suffer less reckless choices because of the absence of gambling in their society.

I'm not at all surprised that the US is at the top of the list and China is second. I have always dreamed of visiting Las Vegas since I was a teenager, but it seems to me that this wish is impossible to fulfill in the next few years. I would also like to visit Macau, because they say that it is there in recent years the gambling industry is developing at a very high rate. These are probably two places that I would like to visit in order to enjoy gambling.

Which country is most attracted to gambling or which country's gambling platform generates the most revenue, the answer to these two questions will be the same, with the United States leading the way. If you search online platforms, the United States is far ahead in gambling. There is a good reason for the position of China. China is a populous country, despite various government restrictions, but people are quite active on online gambling platforms. Since the population is large, it is natural that their average ratio will be higher. If we consider the betting in terms of money in comparison, I think Nigeria could also be one of the top countries. The country has a large number of gamblers who are very attracted to sports betting. It doesn't included in the list now, the country will definitely make it to the top list in the next few years.

No, I'm not surprised by the numbers, and I even thought that the Chinese with their huge population should be in the top stop and not US. Because when I played on a landbase casinos, I will see a lot of Chinese and Japanese playing on the floor and only a few Americans or shall I say caucasians are playing.

As for Europeans, maybe some of the games originated from there but it seems that with their small population, they might not be really into gambling. Or maybe their government really suppressed that's why the numbers is not at par.

For the Chinese, they have Macau and other nations in the Asian region as well have big gambling casinos similar to Las Vegas. Although still the center of gambling for me is the US.

The truth is that for me it is difficult to know if the countries that are being talked about are really the ones that they represent, because they are surveys that are done, and by pure logic and by the majority of people and land that it has it should be the USA, Second would be China (This for me) considering the size of the country and its population, but I would not Know how to say because this type of statistics would have to be given to the organizations in charge of it.

We can see that gambling is getting bigger and is a very profitable business right now. They are just taking advantage of the situation because if there are no casinos near them, they won't gamble as well.

Their country shouldn’t be on list because there’s no gambling happening inside their country rather lots of Chinese is gambling on other country such as US, Macau and so on.

I say this from a statistical point of view, a large sample has to be taken, something significant where both physical and online casinos are considered, in China they obviously play, even with VPN protocols among others, they play, even if they say they don't, they do, then by having these statistics you have an idea of ​​what generally occurs and they are much more reliable numbers, the rest for me are speculations based on small studies.

I think so too mate, in my country I normally see people gamble offline than online, although we are not there to know if they are also gambling online or just offline. Yes, that is just statistic which we never know that is still the same or change. But out of that, I also sure that more people will come from a country that we may not expect that the number of people who playing gambling is big.

We don't know if local casino are also include in that list so we may think that the data need to update. Besides that, it need more research to find more info about the casino or gamblers in all countries so we have more percentage or number that up to date. But I am sure that many people are hiding their gambling activity so that will difficult to know the right percentage.
