Isn't it time to add a new button "Sat."?

Sat. is an officially recognized unit\part of bitcoin. But as you know, there is still no "insert Satoshi symbol" button on the forum interface toolbar. Is it time to add it yet?

Maybe it's time to add a button with the "Sat." logo (with the ability to insert a symbol)?

By the way, what does the officially recognized logo of Sat. look like?

I don't think it's "a pressing issue" 
It would have made much more sense back in the day when BTC was the base currency for most trading pairs before the stable coin pandemic spread through exchanges. Coin prices were mostly quoted in sats but today "Sat" is barely used except during instances of stating the fee rates.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, the bitcoin official symbol BTC was added to unicode in 2017(someone correct me if I'm wrong)and that's what has been widely recognised till date. I'm not sure there's any symbol of sat yet, neither have I come across any discussion of such. It's not actually common for major currency fractions, in this case (bitcoin being the most recognised cryptocurency)to have symbols, I guess that would cause a lot of confusion when been recognised worldwide.

If you want to include it in a post, you can just type it as sat that people recognized it as.

We already have BTC for bitcoin as it symbol there's no need for having a symbol for sats. I think if it was then it would have been done years back by the OG's when they were deliberating on what symbol to use for bitcoin.

For example the USD symbol is $ but there's no symbol for cent (pls correct me if am wrong).. And cent can relatively be said to be like sats.

I don't think there will be much concern on Sat until it values 1 Sat to a reasonable amount, probably a price that can cover fees.

I haven't seen a Sat symbol, i don't think we have any yet, since it is a sub-constituent of Bitcoin, it can retain the Bitcoin logo.

"Sat" does not have any world recognized symbol like Bitcoin do, if it had, I believe it would have even been added here just like Bitcoin symbol was added too.
It's just the "Sat" abbreviation that is always used and the reason why it might not be added here is because everyone can easily type it, therefore there's no much need to add it.

No.
There is no even universally recognized symbol for sats yet, and this recent initiative with bitcoin units denominations change is silly in my opinion.

I would support your suggestion, even though I'm not sure that I would use that button. But as others already pointed out, there is simply no such thing as Satoshi don't have such symbol which would be widely used.
And I suggest you to avoid using word "official" when you're talking about Bitcoin. There is no such thing like official Bitcoin logo, wallet, website and etc.

Since there is no officially available logo for SAT, you could write it like this:

1 bitcoin = 1BTC
1 satoshi = 0.00000001BTC

It also makes it clearer and understandable, especially for newbies, because Bitcoin is famous and everyone recognizes its symbol. If someone sees a post where someone has written "100,000[sat logo]", they might get confused as to how much that is, but if it's written "0.001BTC", it makes it clearer and easier to understand.

There have been lots of proposal about this  on different platforms outside this notable forum on a possible logo for sat. The most notable is reddit where users made lots of suggestion on what the feel sat logo should look like, A user suggested  a reversed "S" with a vertical strikethrough and another

A number 8 with a small part erased to represent the opposite of infinity symbol, which is "Finity" and sats are finite, ie. absolutely scarce

But since consensus is unlikely from the numerous bitcoin communities there is no way the community will have a logo that isn't generally accepted across the various communities. The best approach is to maintain the Satoshi or sat as an abbreviation since the community already understands how many sat makes 1btc.

There's no official recognized logo for satoshi, but there are many proposed logo for satoshi which all of them come from Japanese. The most popular is the first one, some sites refer the logo to ≡ because it's the closest with that logo.

Why do you think Satoshi (Sat) should have a different logo? Is Sat a different coin? The Bitcoin logo is already added on the forum, and you can insert it. I don't think a Bitcoin unit should have another logo when it's not individual. You can use the Bitcoin symbol (logo) to write the Bitcoin unit. Does your local fiat currency have two different logos for units? Since Bitcoin is a currency, I don't think it's necessary to add the sat logo either on the forum or outside of the forum.

However, I feel a lot of important implementations are still pending on the forum. Theymos don't have enough time to think about the Sat logo, which is really unnecessary.

What are you even saying? SATs are the least units of bitcoins so what reasonable value do you want it to get to?. It's just like saying that the Cents which are the smallest units of dollars will get to a reasonable value. SATs does not have any lower conversion rate so the value remains in SATs.

Well in that case it only stands to reason that it the symbol for sat should be $. So 1 sat = 1 $, sounds about right, no?

In all seriousness tho I don't think it makes sense to add a sat button until there actually is an official symbol for sats. And whether we need that is just as questionable imho.

Since there is still so much deliberations on what should and shouldn't be the official symbol or a generally acceptable symbol for sats that can't be included for now.

If it were something of importance PowerGlove would have provided a patch for it already or that would have been a topic of concern to Theymos.

Satoshi known to be the smallest unit of bitcoin has not Unicode symbol as my hovering around the bitcoin space and I don't think if this platform is the one to introduce it and even if it does, it will only be used here in the bitcointalk which I don't think will be recognized outside this bitcointalk platform.
Unless we would only have it in a significant that only users of the forum will understand. But then, it will be on no interest contributing to global awareness as BTC  could be.
