Greetings everyone.
As a newbie, it is obvious that this forum is very large and a user can't possibly get to view all topics that has been created here.
To avoid creating topics that already exists (spamming), how can I possibly go about it?
I can't really tell if there's a post that has deliberated on this already, if there's any, I'll be most happy if a user can direct me there.

The answer is pretty simple ; use the search button more often. Aside from that, as an active member you should be able to detect if what you intend creating sometimes if it is already an existing topic since during surfing you probably would have noticed it. You can combine other tools on the forum as you grow in rank like the ninjastic space and the telegram bot, talk search will also go a long way in helping you for searching for posts most especially.

Hi, Bitcointalk has a built-in search feature located at the top right of the forum. Also you can try different keywords and phrases related to your question or topic when you do searches, it helps.

It will also be useful if you, the OP, accidentally created a topic without finding a similar one, but later, if you were pointed to an existing similar one, close yours to avoid duplicate responses. The forum often creates topics with the same news (for example), but not all users monitor their open topics and close them in time. Others, finding such topics as an extra place to fulfill their signature quota, will answer with great pleasure. Therefore, try to be conscientious and not leave your open topics without attention.

Okay, let's get straight to the point. To avoid duplicate topics, you can do a Google search for potential keywords that you will use in the topic title. Additionally, you can also use Ninjastic to do in-forum searches, the results in Ninjastic should be more accurate than in Google, give it a try.

Thanks for the information. Does that simply means if I open a question thread and I have gotten answers that suites the question, I have to lock the thread?

If you see that the communication has exhausted itself, you can always close it to avoid turning your topic into a mega-thread. This is considered a good and attentive attitude to your topics.

Like what others have already mentioned, you can simply utilize the search bar located at the top-right corner of this forum to see if there are similar threads already created regarding your query. Additionally, if you are having trouble using the search bar, you can also use Google and type your question. Just make sure that you put "bitcointalk forum" at the end of your search for extra security measure (e.g. Tips for newbies in earning bitcoin bitcointalk forum). Thanks for the information. Does that simply means if I open a question thread and I have gotten answers that suites the question, I have to lock the thread?
Yes definitely you should but this also depends on your discretion. Normally, if you open a question thread and there are answers that already informative enough that satisfies your curiosity, then you are free to lock it. But if you think that your thread encourages a healthy discussion which warrants continuous discussion, then you may opt to open it also. At the end, this really depends on you.

I can't really tell if there's a post that has deliberated on this already, if there's any, I'll be most happy if a user can direct me there.
To avoid creating duplicate or existing thread or topic in this forum, you should use the forum search bottom to check by typing the topic you are about to create there, you will get several responses on if the topic has been discussed in this forum before or not. You can as well change the topic because something you might be searching for might be there but with different topic, use the key wards you are willing to learn or creat topic for in the search so that you can get as much created topic related to those key wards as possible for you to find out if the thread or the topic is there before and learn or respond to the topic or even learn from the topic or the discussions in general. Sometimes, the forum search response is not certifying, you can also use google search engine to search for topic, but add bitcointalk.org in order to get the same or similar topics created under such key wards in the Forum.

Before making a post or creating a new thread, always make use of the forum search engine to see if the aspect you want to talk about had been posted before or not, this will help you to see how relevant the aspect may be for you to bring it here or knowing it has been discussed already by other members, except for the lastest news in which if you got to get them earlier as they are made available, then you can still search through the boards of someone already posted it or not, all these are part of the efforts to combat against spamming on this forum.

You know if you have been active in the forum, you will know which threads have been repeatedly posted and discussed, and which has not been tackled ever. That way, you will certainly avoid posting the same topics or threads that only receive the same replies from the forum members.
Another thing is, make a habit to use the search button. That will guide you what to do and what to avoid, so you won’t end up creating threads that have been discussed already weeks or months ago, wherein forum members will no longer get interested to participate.

I used to use Google search to search if my topic already exists, then one day I created a topic and everyone was like "it already exists!". Google search failed me that day, I just had to lock the thread immediately to avoid further spam replies. Just incase you create a duplicate topic that already exist and with no added information, just lock the topic ASAP once the reactions imply that the topic already exists.

It's pretty simple: if a question is on your mind, simply use the forum search button. You may get your desired answer from there, and you can participate in existing threads. Otherwise, you can create a thread if you failed to get your desired answer. Good to see you care about forum spam; we need to reduce it. For newbies, I always prefer to use the search button to find the desired answer.
A few users have posted threads that could help you to get some basic ideas about forums and crypto. Always try to read pinned posts where you intend to make a post. Spend more time reading forum threads and try to engage in existing discussions. So automatically you can get many, many answers.

Thanks @MAAmanda, its shocking to me that you were able to figure out the period I created this account. Anyways, you're right though, I wasn't able to make posts since all these while because of the Proxyban and I was also having issues sending BTC to the wallet given but the issues was later resolved and here I am. Thanks for the update on the tool, I guess a user mentioned it earlier but didn't put a link to the tool.

Therefore, try to be conscientious and not leave your open topics without attention.
I agree with you by acknowledging how I behaved like one in the past creating threads and does not bother to keep it on track in requesting as it maybe that I needed solution. Lot of newbies are likely to do this mistake which I think it may be that they don't have the ideal that they can actually track their posts easily with the telegram SuperNotifier. While ignorant to give attention to your created posts will offer you no bond to admit any acknowledgement in a case like this if Op does not follow this post up therefore, related mistakes could be positively repeated because he/she never took part where other users were giving guidelines help based on the post content.

To avoid creating a topic that already exists in the forum, you can use some search engines. You will find a search button in the forum itself from where you can search for the topic using some phrases. You can even help yourself with ninjastic.space and talksearch.io] from where you can easily search for questions. If you don't find the answer to your desired question, you can ask that question here or, if possible, ask those questions to different bots.

Actually the Bitcointalk forum is a very large community. But as a newbie that normally stay active in the forum would no that using search button is the easiest way to identify an existing topics, without much stress. Although as a newbie sometimes asking questions is always the best way to learn and prevent some unnecessary mistakes or confusion, more especially when you are not familiar with something.
