There will be regrets, surely, but not the kind where I cannot live with myself. We have spent money on things less important and have created some consolation for it so we don't feel entirely bad.

Laszlo Hanyecz can have the consolation that he imprinted his name in history with that act; there is no way the story of Bitcoin will be talked about in years to come without his name being mentioned.

He spent 10,000 BTC to get into the history books of bitcoin.

Yes, it's a beautiful coincidence that Pizza Day coincides with Bitcoin's all-time high this season. Or perhaps it's not a coincidence, but rather because of the occasion. In any case, this is a happy anniversary for the Bitcoin community. It's a happy annual occasion to celebrate.

Happy Pizza Day to the Bitcoiners out there.  Any excuse to celebrate with food is a good excuse.  Usually I would be joining in on the festivities but I am craving a burger tonight.  The heart wants what the heart wants, or in this case, the stomach.  Lazlo will forever remain a legend for his purchase.  A name he etched himself into the history books with his bravery and hunger (literally).  May we all be so lucky as to be remembered as pioneers of something so meaningful to the world.

He will not regret it because at that time the price of bitcoin was not like now and for 10k bitcoin for Pizza (at that time) was normal so why would he regret it especially since we know he was at the beginning so he must still have a lot of bitcoin in his portfolio. It's the same with some people who have said they exchanged bitcoins into game vouchers and other things because it was worth it at the time.

If done now then maybe the conditions are different and will regret it but that is the past where bitcoin is not like now so it is very natural if he does not regret it too much.

I think we are too fixated on a value when then and now it is different so even if you regret it it will not make the situation change so in this case I think he just enjoyed what he did without the need to look back with regret.

At the moment it is not how he feels anymore that matters because that era is gone and nothing can ever bring it back. Most persons would have done the same just as they are doing now, throwing away the little opportunities they have for some few minutes of pleasure to satisfy a gratification. The real question is what has he done since that time to better himself.

Laszlo Hanyecz, who bought two pizzas with 10,000 Bitcoins 15 years ago. Let's just honor the day and stop thinking of what if it was us. We will never able to do what laszlo did for contributing for that very first purchase using Bitcoin. Laszlo was there when the most of the world never known and believed to Bitcoin as a means of payment. If he has said that he's never regret what he's done then that's probably the same for us. We have no idea how much Bitcoin will be in the future if we're on the same shoe as his.

Both of these are the best idea today and they are also related to each other which is why it is very happy to see them both and their meeting like this indicate luck and a big investment. If he remember that I made this mistake then he must still be feel wrong today because he made a very big mistake and if we look he did it in a good way at that time because he did not know that the price of BTC would go so high. A little context missing in your post : Lazlo was between the first hundred ( number could be inaccurate anyway ) contributors to bitcoin project and one of the few active developers. SO on one hand I guess he owned way more than those 10000 and also he made the history  proving the world Bitcoin could be used as a means of payment and wasn't only a computers's geeks experiment for its own sake.


So now ask yourself : how'd you feel being among the first discovering bitcoin. Well, I would feel quite comfortable tbh.

There is no doubt that Lazlo is kicking himself, but honestly he's stupid to be thinking that way. He's lkye5alky bitcoin famous the guy is going to be set for life. The funny thing to me about the Laszlo situation is that people who don’t own any Bitcoin will make fun of him for trading BTC for pizza, but I’m betting not a single one of them to this day would accept Bitcoin to order pizza for a stranger online. So in the end, the real losers are the people who don’t own Bitcoin and I promise you Laszlo doesn’t fall in that club.

When Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 bitcoins on two pizzas, Bitcoin was not that popular. Maybe then no one expected that Bitcoin would be $100k. However Laszlo Hanyecz made history, he was the first person to use Bitcoin in the business sector. It is for Laszlo Hanyecz that Pizza Day is celebrated on May 22, I think he is proud of it.

Go back to the early posts; you will find more than one "Laszlo" who exchanged his bitcoins and was happy. I think there is no point in talking about how these people feel now; we all live in our own time, by the standards that exist in it. Thoughts that someone could now have some island and be rich may come to the minds of many early investors, but if we are talking about "here and now," then we act as the time requires. I think in the future there will be the same scoffers who will consider our actions today stupid. However, all this makes a good story, in the broad sense of the word.

Laszlo did something ground breaking at the time which at that time was worth
the BTC both in monetary terms and in Bitcoins journey. That first transaction
with Bitcoin was for our benefit too. It is part of Bitcoins history now and contributed
to Bitcoins development and acceptance at that time.

I dont see anything negative about it at all.
