Greek Football 2025-2026 Season Discussion and Predictions

I look at the Greek league, and Olympiacos, AEK, and PAOK stand out as teams that win all their matches. These are teams that can also achieve good results in Europe. I also know Panathinaikos from the Greek league; they've only played one match. This year, it's a league I'll be following and watching the results. It's great to have a topic of discussion here; we often discuss the Greek league here.

I'm doing my best to also include Cypriot teams here because Cyprus is like a sister country to Greece, the only place in the world where Greek is also an official language.

A tiny country but these years their teams are entering in international competition more and more.

Cyprus hadn't been in Champions league for 8 years which is nice to see again now.

After match day 2 only 2 teams have managed to pick all maximum point from the Greek league this season, and I would say there are the teams everybody is expecting. Olympiacos, PAOK and AEK Athens all win their 1 matches so far, as for me this are the teams I expect to challenge for the title this season.

The match between Olympiacos and Volos got me a bit off my seat because I gambled on Olympiacos to score 2 goals and to my surprise the goals came in late. I thought I would lost my bet but i didn’t. My favorite team to win the league this season is Olympiacos, you can always count on them.

That's a great thought! I hadn't thought of it before you mentioned it but now that we're talking, it would be a nice addition to this topic and to our betting sessions. More options are always welcomed!

You are assuming and that is not a good one when it comes to football even though Olympiakos will be playing at home we should not assume the results just like that, because looking at the performance of Olympiakos in recent times they have not been that fantastic like before.

I see, I wasn't aware of it and only noticed it when I was posting the upcoming matchday. OFI vs. PAOK is going to be a great match. Aris vs. Atromitos is another good option as well, along with Voloa vs. Panetolikos. Perhaps, I'd also consider Asteras Tripolis vs. AEL.

What do you mean? Olympiakos won the previous League and is literally the top team in the Greek Football. It's very unlikely they'll lose against Panserraikos, but possible nonetheless. Football is unpredictable.

I guess Denmark would be the tough one in the group but it still should be doable to advance further this year. Greece outranks both Scotland and Belarus in rankings. Although Scotland is not outranked by that much.

Wow I completely forgot about it, kudos for reminding me. The odds show that Greece is most likely going to win, the case here is how we can profit from it, as just betting on Greece for a mere 1.20 is not worth the risk. I was considering over 2.5 goals (1.67) or both teams to score (2.60), or over 1.5 goals in total in the first half (2.35). I'm considering to experiment a bit and see how that goes.

Greece also plays against Israel in two days and against Denmark on 8th of September. Both are also worth watching.

I'm assuming the most logical outcome, based on both teams' dynamics, roster, and recent performance/ results. Unfortunately, in the Greek Superleague, besides the Big-4, all the others faced tremendous problems and no support from the football federation. Trust me, I would like to see a more competitive league, but things are what it is.

The odds for each taking a win are exactly the same so in the end it just feels like Greece is considered equally powerful.
Surely the new Greek squad is young and their coach is willing to innovate snd adapt the team's style to opponents.
It's proving a good endeavour as Greece is doing well again on international matches after a long time.

Now against Denmark I'm not sure. It'll be a good match to watch.

I never expected Greece to score five goals. I ended up betting that both teams would score and got my hands on a decent sum of money, the odds ended up being quite great, over 2.2 if I remember correctly. So far, the Greek team seems to be doing quite well. The match against Israel, according to the odds, should be a walk in the park as well, quite similar with the ones against Belarus, I'm more concerned about Denmark though.

IMO, Greece has a lot of talent and a big future ahead of it, as long as they are united and bonded under a good coach like Jovanovic. Certainly, Denmark isn't Belarus, and things will be different, but based on the results, Greece has the momentum and bigger chances to take another win in this group.

I just realized a few minutes ago that Greece is playing against Israel, in Eurobasket, not football! Haha. I was looking for Greece vs. Belarus the other day on BetPanda and used the search function to find it faster, showing results of Eurobasket championship as well, without me noticing it. I realized it when I was looking for it on the TV, only to find it as a basketball game. We're winning so far, so that's good at least!

As for Denmark, I'm inclided to place a bet on both teams scoring, (1.91) odds, or first-half total number of goals over 1 or over 1.5, both yield great odds (2.10 and 3.20 respectively).

Denmark isn't famous for scoring quickly or having many goal chances in the first half, same goes for Greece. The only game that Greece scored from the 1st half was against Belarus, so it's a bit more risky bet than it seems.

Well that's interesting, but I think I'm going to take my chances and risk it. The game against Belarus was quite different, just like you said, they aren't as competitive as Denmark, so the risk wasn't as great as it currently is. We still have over one hour till the game starts, I might change my mind till then and choose something safer. Otherwise, I'm also considering to bet on both teams to score. From an outsider's point of view, do you think we a decent chance in winning against Denmark? It's a competitive match and the odds are quite similar for both outcomes.

Well, the game was a total disaster for Greece, Denmark scored three goals against us and we didn't score a single one. Luckily, I didn't bet on first-half over 1.5 goals like I mentioned earlier, but over 2 in total, in which the odds weren't anything special, but I at least didn't lose any money. I'm deeply disappointed because I anticipated a better outcome, not necessarily a different one. We only had a total of four shots, with only one on target, while Denmark had fifteen and eight respectively. I expected that we would at least score one goal.
