People can say that they do something else because Nigeria government was never friendly to crypto adoption in Nigeria and that has made a lot of people in this forum or outside the forum who are into bitcoin will not want to disclose to the police that they earn through their involvement in bitcoin discussions.

What I tell people if they ask me what I do for a living, I tell them that I am an online promoter. If they ask me which company, I tell them any company that needs my service. I don't even say if AI am involved in bitcoin or not. It's when you are very close to me and you want to know more, I explain at length.

The Government has turned us who are into Bitcoin liars because of there policy and the tag they gave to Bitcoin which is not suppose to be so. The Nigeria Government, the police to be precise has left what they are suppose to be doing on the road and be doing entirely different thing. Some many Nigerians who don't know how to explain has paid a lot for what they don't know, imagine how painful it is to use your hard earned money to pay for what you don't know and sometimes it is not as if they don't know that most Nigerian youths are into legit online business ( they are not fraudsters). Well my advice to everyone one who is into Bitcoin, is to be very careful and don't be a in rush to speak when been stop on the way by police officers, because the less you talk or speak the better because you won't reveal what you never intend to...

First of all, you’re in trouble if signature campaigns on bitcointalk is your primary source of income. What will happen when signature campaigns are not available? IMO people who depend on signature campaigns often have more than one accounts enrolled in different campaigns in order to make more money. More accounts equal to less quality on both accounts and more spam on the forum.

Secondly, you can’t be telling law enforcement that your job is discussing bitcoin on a online forum. They won’t understand it and may land you in more trouble than you originally were in. It’s only recently that the Nigerian government declared Bitcoin as legal, it would be unwise to start fronting your bitcoin activities to the police or the general public. Please have a business or a 9-5, and tell whoever asks that this is your job/business.

Of course it is a matter of crucial attention that is worth to be given to, we are all supposed to have other things we do as source of income perhaps we have dreams and aspirations which the forum only can not give to us hence it is wrong to even put all of our focus on the forum, I believe that majority of us already have some other things going on in our individual life before joining the forum which is ok, I quite understood your point about our government skeptical about the crypto world of which we don't have to rub it on their faces even while dealing with it.

If you are opportune to earn from signature campaigns, save money and open a physical business for yourself in case of any interrogation by security agencies to question your source of income you can easily reference your business instead of saying that you do any stuff online to make money because whether you are doing a genuine work online or not, our security operatives hates to hear that you are making money from the internet, they will just find a way to extort money from you and when you refuse they will tag you an internet fraudster.

Signature campaigns is just a temporary privilege to earn from the forum why advertising some company brands, never see signatures campaign as a job opportunity because they are not guaranteed to last for a lifetime so while you are earning also make sure to start something real and visible to shift people's mind from knowing that you earn online, maintain strict privacy with your online dealings and don't be loud about it or your achievements.

Crypto is not completely legal tender in the country and I wouldn't want to tell about especially the cops that I'm a bitcoiner, you know how our popo Dem dey behave most times make you no go worsen your situation, if you mention it to them that you are a Bitcoin discusser or anything related to Bitcoin for them that automatically makes you a fraudster. Some people for this country still dey see Bitcoin as scam so no even try mention, it is matter to say that you are a content Creator because we all know many of Nigerian youths are living large through it.

For other countries, if you tell police say you be “bitcoin discusser” “enthusiast” “influencers”
The go likely fit understand you

But once e enter naija, some police men go even see all that one as format or whyning
so e even better make you tell them say na trade you dy trade
This is not about hiding your identity or what you really do for a living  but 1 thing you should understand about our local government agencies is you should be more focused about surviving and ensuring the issue is not prolonged if not your eye ho see
If them ask for more evidence, you fit show them 1 or 2 P2P.

Yes the Central Bank of Nigeria has lifted its ban on digital currency transactions but don’t be confused here, Bitcoin is not a legal tender in Nigeria. There are very few countries in the world where bitcoin is legal tender and Nigeria is not one of them.

The country we find ourselves does not gives us that freedom to express ourselves or even identify ourselves publicly,I don't think anyone in this Bitcoin forum will be ashamed of being a Bitcoinner, not at all because Bitcoin has provided to them more than what their country can provide for them, everyone is hiding and needs to be peaceful to enjoy their proceeds from Bitcoin, since it has not been officially legalize or passed into law as an act.

As a stranger to me, you don't expect me to start answering your questions on Bitcoin because I don't know if you are a CID who is out there secretly arresting Bitcoinners by the authority of the government .

Bitcoin has helped and save a lot of Nigerians from poverty and hardships through signature campaigns so I don't see anyone that would not be proud to be Bitcoinner. That Bitcoin is disappearing any soon, I don't think so, not true, it has come to stay.

In the aspect of interrogation about your occupation, you suppose to have setup your business after 3-6 months in the signature campaign no matter how little the business might be for protection of situations like this, in that way even if you tell someone that you are a Bitcoinner they will not believe you except you show and introduce it to the person, as from Bitcoin alot of business person you see are involved in other online activities like cryptocurrency, hacking , frauding, e.t.c, but you will not know because of the physical business you see them doing.

It sounds lame. I think a better name would be a bitcoin enthusiast. Meaning you are a primary supporter of BTC. It doesn't matter how you support it. it can be through investment, or being a member of a community.

Fact is, the forum can be a place where you can consider as a start up for someone who doesn't have something doing in the main time. But if you manage to grow an account and join signature campaign, won't it be smart to take your money and find something to start up?

How sure are you that there would always be a signature campaign? We saw how mixers were removed last year, so I'll advice anyone who takes the  forum as a source of income to be wiser and take some earned money to start something else. It can be a physical business or online business, but don't depend on the forum and feel relaxed so when an unforeseen situation happens, you won't seem frustrated.

Exactly, you don't need to rely on the money that you earn form signature campaign to live, if at all you we're not doing something already before you join the forum, then use the money and invest into a businesses which can also keep you busy and from people asking you what you do for a living, probably because when you don't normally go outside on daily basis, A 3 months - 6 months payment from signature campaign is reasonable enough to set up a small business of yours.

An insightful talk and discussion with proper clear pictorial illustrations. For a while I've had this taught for a while and taught of the right word to describe the occupation of those who solely depend on Bitcoin talk and you have made it more clear and insightful.

I am sure if any one who is involved in Bitcoin talk has this basic knowledge there won't be any form of unnecessary arrasments from security agencies who try to interrogate you.

Bitcointalk is not a job platform, signature campaigns payments are just bonuses we get while making posts in the forum and if not that when we convert the amount we earn in dollars to our local currency, it is quite a significant amount but for those countries that uses the dollars as their currency you will see that it's not really enough to be seen as a source of income. However, if security agencies confronts you to question about your source of income, it is better to tell them that you are a casino promoter, you do promotions for casinos and they pay you but never tell them that you make posts in a bitcointalk forum online and get paid because it will sound very strange to them because most of them are not really aware that platforms of this nature do exist. Although for the fact that people write emails for companies online and get paid should have giving them an awareness that there are legit work people do online and earn from it. But due to the nature with which our security personnels operates, it is difficult to reveal that you are into bitcoin, they will think you are a big guy and will want you to give them some money or they level false allegations against you.

You're right this forum should not be the main source of income for anyone it should be considered as a side hustle to support whatever that you are into as a person because for the accounts that are growing it will take a long while before they gets to a place where signature campaigns can take them.

We all are bitcoin enthusiast in this forum it's our passion about Bitcoin that is bringing back reward for our support for Bitcoin not a Bitcoin entrepreneur or content creator

You have putting a good efforts in making sure people who belong to this forum doesn't make any mistake on the right word to use in describing what they do for a living, but however is a good thing because there has been a contradiction between the right word to use from people who only earn from their Bitcoin investment and those who only depend on the forum because they are two different things altogether, however considering the intention at which you meant for people to no about the right word it might not change anything in the eyes of the police and EFCC because they are not always concerned about what you do for a living but they are only concerned on what they can get from you.

No, i wont like to identify myself like that in the public that i am a bitcoin discusser or talker, it doesnt make any sense to me. You shouldve said that if bitcointalk is paying you directly to your wallet for discussing on bitcointalk but this case is different, a brand is paying you for expressing yourself/engaging yourself in a topic on bitcointalk forum by wearing their signature and avatar.

Overall, what you are doing is marketing a brand on a digital platform so you are equally a digital marketer/promoter, doesnt matter if its on bitcointalk or not, so long its on digital space. Infact, its even more risky to include bitcoin to the public in anything you doing in Nigeria. Dont dare try it.

Almost same point i made earlier but mine i suggested a 'casino promoter' which is just being direct to the brand we promote but yours is more preferable, a digital marketer/promoter but some of them will still want more details of the kind of digital marketing we do which is when the casino promoter will come into play but no matter how they try to further the interrogations, a bitcointalker should never reveal anything pertaining bitcoin to any government security agency. Our security agents in this country sees everyone earning money online as a scammer especially when you mention that you are into bitcoin so the best will be not to implicate oneself.

We are living in a society where every young man is seen as a "Yahoo boy, so telling police officers or EFCC officers that you are a Bitcoin discusser and you make your money by discussing Bitcoin will easily put you in trouble because police officers or EFCC officers will see you as a "Yahoo boy that is using Bitcoin discusser to cover up his fraudulent activity. It would be better if you never let police officers or EFCC officers know you make your money through discussing bitcoin if you want to be safe and protect yourself from being harassed by police officers or EFCC officers. Anytime you are travelling and you know you will pass police officers on the road, you better hide any app that will expose you you are into "cryptocurrency, and if police officers ask you what you do to earn money, you can tell them you are a farmer and your speciality is training animals to eliminate any further suspicion from the police officers.

Because, the earlier you know the best way to defend yourself if eventually you happens to come across such scenario whereby you encounter Police or EFCC, and eventually got held of your mobile phone and saw apps like Binance, Trust Wallets and Bybit and tagged you as a Yahoo Boy, when eventually you are a legit hustler, the better for you. Hence, if anybody ask you from today henceforth what you do for a living, is best you answer that you are a "Bitcoin Discusser" whereby you earn money by discussing about Bitcoin on its official forum.

This isn't going to be enough reasons to prove to them of not being such, because there must be a doubt if you make bitcoin discusser  your source of income, perhaps this is even going to worsting the whole case as they will be well convinced that you're into illegal business. Even if you choose to make a source of income from this signature campaigns don't forget to set other things that can serve as backup, it can be skills or business should in case you encounter such situation you won't be finding it difficult to prove to them about your source of getting money, even if they find out that you have alot of assets stored in any of this wallets you can plainly tell them you're into crypto investment that you always put some portion of your discretionary income into bitcoin, rather than telling them that you're a bitcoin discusser honestly this doesn't make much sense to me.

But honestly, i don't know how long we will keep being afraid of being crypto enthusiasts and freely tell others what we are into without feeling security threats. This is why it is very important to have a lawyer so that incase of any harassment by any government forces, you will have who will speak for you instead of stressing yourself. Cryptocurrency is not illegal in the country so why should we continue to be afraid of mentioning anything concerning cryptocurrency or bitcoin to security agents? Get a lawyer and some of this embarrassment will end because highest they can do is to arrest you that you are a fraudster because that is what they do, in that case you call your lawyer to intercede on your behalf.
Earnings from signature campaigns is a privilege but there is still need to get a side hustle outside the forum, rainy days do come in the forum when campaigns end or you are removed from a signature campaign which you can fall back to your side job or business and sustain yourself for the mean time.

Honestly; I think telling the police or any other agency you’re a Crypto enthusiast is okay if you have nothing to hide, unless you’re engaged in other activities that may implicate you is why you’ll be afraid to say anything crypto or bitcoin related. Na some of us be our own problem, wen Uve said you’re a crypto/bitcoin enthusiast and they investigate you(which if you know your right, nobody go touch you) and find other things implicating, so they conclude bitcoin is for scam boiz.
If Bitcointalk is your only source of income ; you can simply say you’re a Crypto Blogger, Bitcoin Blogger who run adverts for companies online. As simple as that

So in conclusion, I wish to hope that with everything been said above, you all could have understood that there is a big difference between a forex trader, Bitcoin influencer, or Bitcoin content creators, as the true phrase for someone who partakes and engage in discussion on the Bitcointalk forum is meant to be officially called a "Bitcoin discusser" or "Bitcoin Talker".
Op I'm in support of your phrase,a person who shares he's/her opinion verbally or in a written form is called a discusser,so the phrase "bitcoin discusser" best suit a person who shares his/her ideas/opinions,and they're being paid for sharing their opinions by a signature campaign. There are so many Nigeria law enforcement agencies especially the road side police, they are best in tagging young boys that dresses nice with flashy cars "yahoo boys",but my question is,are there no other means of earning online that doesn't have to do with fraud?they should please adjust on their mentality. You mustn't tell lies all the time, even if it seems like a way to get out of trouble, tell them the truth that you're a Bitcoin discusser and tell them it isn't an illegal means of earning online and they might let go of you.
